Effie I had a 49 day cycle last month! - I didn't "feel" pg, was actually pretty convinced I wasn't, then did a few tests just in case. So - hoping you are but just to say I experienced the same (and it isn't nice). Hope you either get BFP or come on soon so you can move on.

Hello

Am flagging down and jumping on! Still waiting for AF but after spending the last week with light and unusual cramping which made me convince myself that something was happening - today I have very definitely got AF cramps. Grrrrr. My body is playing tricks on me. In order to stay positive about impending arrival of AF am looking to 2010 now! Onwards and upwards (and fingers well and truly crossed for all of us!!!)

ooh, like the new CD order - good to know who we should be keeping an eye on

laurielou I bow to your superior patience, I'd sooo have tested by now

blocka I'm in a similar situation, hen night on Saturday AF due Sunday/Mon/Tue so I'm going to test Saturday morning so I can drink with gay abandon if it's a BFN. Not feeling v hopeful at all now - have a really bloated tummy, which is standard PM territory for me

gemstones · 15/04/2009 14:44

Afternoon ladies

Higglepig Im totally with you ive been feeling well bloated these last few days and im starting to feel a little less hopeful.
Oh well its not over yet. Good luck with tesing, im testing Sunday.
Hello to new members

NewMember · 15/04/2009 15:13

It is great reading everyone's comments! I was starting to feel quite alone in this process. I never thought for a minute I would find it hard or stressful on my journey to concieve. I think over the past 4 months I have prob spent at least £150.00 on tests, hoping to see a positive! It gets so frustrating and I get so stressed about with it all. My monitor has peaked for 2 days this week, i am hoping this will be my lucky month - although cant help but feel negative!

Bettymum · 15/04/2009 15:23

Hi NewMember we are on the same cycle day so we can be buddies! Where are you getting your tests - £150! There is a good website called access diagnostics, their prices are pretty reasonable and they deliver promptly .

NewMember · 15/04/2009 15:28

Hi Bettymum

Ouch the test have either been bought in 'Boots' or 'ebay', I only like the Clearblue tests, which are quite expensive! I was testing all the time in the hope that a Negative would suddenly change to Positive!Although in the real world - that never happened! lol

How long have u been trying?

Josie22 · 15/04/2009 15:44

Hi Newmember - I know where you are coming from. I had no idea about any of it having been taught at school (by nuns!!) that if you had sex then you would get pregnant. I honestly didn't really know much about ovulation until about 4 months ago when we started TTC . I feel like it has become a bit of an obsession now though, especially as I seem to get early pg symptoms. However, I have decided that I am going to start being more optimistic and stop googling every little twinge as until I am late for my af I am not going to think about it (yeah right!!).

And I am going to stop buying tests - have just come to the conclusion that first response is an evil money making ploy designed to make very vulnerable women feel depressed. If I think I am pg a week before af is due then I will still be pg the day of my missed af and the test will much more likely be positive. (Not sure what I will do with the 8 unused tests I have in my drawer though - bought just in case!!).

Anyway, enough waffle from me. Good luck and chin up . We are all in this together!

Bettymum · 15/04/2009 15:46

Ah, the power of positive thinking!
We have been trying for 6 months or so, but I've just been charting my temperatures for the last three or four. I was BFing and although I got my periods back when DD was 8 months old I think I have only been ovulating for the last two cycles - have cut right down to just one BF a day so my hormones must be just about back to normal now. Fingers crossed will ovulate in the next two or three days, BDing tonight!
It took 6 months of proper trying to get PG with DD which felt like forever but of course it's not. It took my mum and dad five years and they thought they'd never have babies, but then I turned up and before they knew it, three more arrived!!

Higglepig · 15/04/2009 15:46

Hey gemstones I'm actually thinking of caving in and doing a first response tomorrow morning just so I know - after all, the point is that they're meant to be able to tell you a few days in advance isn't it? And the suspense is just killing me. Thought of making a pact with myself that if this one was BFN I'd never again buy myself another early response HPT...

Higglepig · 15/04/2009 15:48

Ha, just saw your post re first response Josie - my point exactly but since I already have one I might as well use it, right?

NewMember · 15/04/2009 15:54

Hi Josie22 and Bettymum

Thank you for resonding, it's just nice having someone to chat to about all of this! My Partner is great, but think I am now driving him mad with all this pregnancy talk! lol - he is desperate for it to happen 2, although he wants me to be stress free when it does!

I agree, no more pregnancy tests - I will wait until I am late before I test again (well thats the plan(

I also need to remember I have only been trying for 4 months! All these thoughts go through my mind tho i.e. can i fall preg? will i struggle?

Oh well, hopefully not long

Higglepig · 15/04/2009 15:58

Hi Newmember also TTC for 4 months but agree that it can feel like ages particularly when you hear so much in the media about fertility probs etc, just makes you focus on it much more.

NewMember · 15/04/2009 16:01

Hi Higglepig

TTC is harder than I ever imagined. I think I will just need to relax a little and enjoy trying

I will give it about 3 months and then seek a little advice from my GP!

islegrin · 15/04/2009 18:47

Just correcting my note - somehow I went from day 3 to day 34

Nothing to report yet... just enjoying not being obsessed by testing! Higgle and Josie are you waiting patiently or testing every morning?

seanybosmummy · 15/04/2009 21:25

Hi girls, i have been reading thru your posts since i was last on and i am pmsl. it def is so good to have someone to talk to about all this ttc malarky.

stephie i agree with higgle, there is def a lot of hope in 16% (somebody has to be in it!), fingers crossed its you!

isle cant believe the hosp let you go on for so long and did not tell you about your tube, that must have been quite a shock for you both.

babydust to everyone xx

donttrythisathome · 15/04/2009 21:51

Can anyone please give me a crash course on pg tests? How soon can you test. And why should I not bother..?

I'm on day 22, and don't feel any different, so I'm convinced this is not the month. Do have some mad cravings for yoghurt though...could it be a sign?

It is fab to have others to obsess with and share this, as DP is underwhelmed...
