Hi everyone! Hubby and I are desperately broody and have been for a few years. We're hoping to TTC later this year, we're having to wait til Hubby finishes his degree as we just can't afford to have a baby whilst he's a student. Am wanting to come off the pill round about May, and hopefully TTC about Nov/Dec. Want to come off the pill a few months early as I've been on it for over 14 yrs, and would like to know what its like to have normal periods!

Be nice to know if anyone else is in a similar situation.

Welcome newbies! Too many to list, this thread is definately picking up. Hopefully there will still be a few of us left here in May/June time!

Good Luck Ocarina, sending lots of positive PG vibes your way!

Another rl friend has just announced she is pg, thrilled but still a bit ! Definately a baby boom at the moment!

Will be starting my prenatal vitamins in March & putting DH on some too & strict healthy eating/dieting after DH's birthday (15th Jan). Just keep thinking 'my body is a baby temple' and repeating like some sort of mantra!

Seems so silly but since I had my DD (Aug 08) I have been diagnosed with MS and I just keep thinking somehow things are going to be tougher for me to get PG. Which is silly coz I had it before just didn't know, and it isn't thought to make any difference at all. Just can't get the thought out of my head! Plus the thought of how being PG will affect me & affect labour is daunting. Just hoping it make any big difference. Even if I had the MS before, not knowing meant I didn't have to worry about it IYSWIM!

Can't believe it is nearly 2010! Hoping we all get our BFP's/LO's next year!

bebejones · 22/12/2009 13:35

Ooops - just hoping it won't make any difference! Fingers can't keep up with brain...really must preview!

jennimoo · 30/12/2009 10:51

Hope everyone's had a good Christmas. We are just home now, DH is just about over flu and I have had a really sore throat for days, so all in all it's been exhausting! Im expecting AF any day, and then the TTC begins! It seems to have come around very fast now...

slowshow · 30/12/2009 13:14

Come Jan 1st I'll be able to tell myself "We TTC this year" which is really exciting. September is still quite a long way off though

maamalady · 30/12/2009 18:30

Me too, Jennimoo! I have a horrid cold at the minute, but we should be home from my parents' on Friday, and last pill withdrawal bleed should also start Fri/Sat. Next Tuesday I would normally be starting a new pill pack, but I won't be! Eeeek!

bebejones · 30/12/2009 19:26

Exciting to think 'I will be TTC this year' (I hope, still trying to persaude DH 100% but persistant nagging will win him over ) Hopefully time will whizz past til May!

SeaGreen · 30/12/2009 20:28

At the moment TTC is looking like a distant thing. Let alone BFP, am actually looking forward to a time when can start TTC as an end in itself. After a momentary lapse in judgment last night, had the morning after pill today and am sat here feeling horribly nauseous because of the pill, uncertain about the future in so many ways, including when we can start TTC.
Why do decisions that look great in the heat of the moment inevitably look like such a bad idea in the cold light of day?
2010 had better be fecking better than 2009.

jaquelinehydeThePresents · 30/12/2009 20:49

Hi everyone can I join?

DP and I are going to be trying to concieve from September 2010 onwards.

We have wanted to try for ages now, but we decided to be sensible and wait until I had lost enough weight to make it a healthy pregnancy.

That gives me 9 months to slim, and 9 months for DP to get a bit more healthy too. Then my implant is coming out and wayhay away we go.

I'm also at Uni, and come September I shall be just about to begin my final year I know it could make things a bit akward being pregnant but I can then take a year out, just to be with the baby and the other DC's. Then do my PGCE, and TEFL course, and then get a job. Phew that's about it then

I'm lucky enough to have 3 DC's already, but really, really want a fourth after miscarrying last year (2007).

Sorry for the long drawn out post, good luck to all the others TTC now and in the near future.

Hi to all the newbies! I take my past pill on Sunday! Although still waiting till around April to ttc. Wanted to give my body a break first and know what my cycles were doing. Stopping pills still feels like a major step forward. Hoping the next few months wizz by. And as everyone else has said will be good that from tomorrow I can say we are ttc this year. Hopefully 2010 will be a wonderful year for all of us :-)

bebejones · 01/01/2010 20:53

Happy New Year! Here's to us all getting those BFP's in 2010!

maamalady · 02/01/2010 22:45

Right oh, withdrawal bleed is here so I suppose I better be off from this thread and start paying real attention to the "actually TTC" ones now

maamalady · 02/01/2010 22:45

And I hope time flies for everyone else on this thread!

cheekster · 02/01/2010 23:29

Oooooh, please can I join too. Read the title of the thread and it just screamed at me.

I know there is no right time to TTC but DS is 18 mo and think 2010 would be a good year to TTC. Not sure when in 2010 though - DH is very laid back about things , but Im already getting excited about the thought of hopefully getting a bump sometime this year.

Lets hope 2010 brings lots of BFP's!

bebejones · 03/01/2010 09:01

Good Luck evilgiraffe! Welcome cheekster!

cheekster · 03/01/2010 13:15

Hi, Bebejones , when are you hoping to begin TTC?

We are still undecided, I think after DS's 2nd birthday in July. DH is trying to be sensible as hopefully then we might not have 2 in nappies or have to get a double buggy?

But Im not sure I can wait that long

bebejones · 03/01/2010 16:48

Hopefully May/June time. DD is 2 at the beginning of August, so feel like she will nearly be out of nappies (if not already out of them) by the time #2 arrives! I want to lose some serious weight before TTC, I have been lazy about shifting the baby weight! (Plus some extra that I have gained since )

Just been to in-laws for FIL's 60th & found out that SIL is expecting her 2nd. Just felt really sad instead of being pleased/excited for her. What is wrong with me?!

Kayzr · 03/01/2010 17:14

Hello!

Can I re rejoin? We were going to TTC in November but we decided to put it off until August this year. I still need to lose the weight. Bexaa, I think you are on the weight loss thread with me. So kick me if I don't stick to this diet!!!

We have 2 boys and we are giving that Shettles method a go for a girl. We don't mind if it doesn't work as another boy would be lovely.

I have about 2 weeks of my pill left and then I am working out my cycle until we start to ttc.

bebejones · 03/01/2010 19:25

I'm on the weightloss thread too!! We shall do it together! Welcome back Kayzr!

We are going to give shettles a go too, but to get a boy! Have a DD already. I don't mind either way, but as I am not sure I shall have another one (not for a while after #2 at least) I would like one of each! But like I said I don't really mind, but can have fun giving shettles a go!

jennimoo · 03/01/2010 20:09

Well AF arrived on 1st Jan so I guess I'll be moving on to a proper TTC thread now! It does seem to have gone quicker than I expected, and I gave found charting temperatures etc on fertility friend has really given me something to focus on while waiting, and should mean we time the BD just right and have optimum chance to a BFP first time around...
So good luck all, and try to make the most of the waiting!
X

jennimoo · 03/01/2010 20:11

Quite a few typos in there, sorry, I'm still feeling under-the-weather!

cheekster · 03/01/2010 20:50

I am so not going to be able to last until July, when the new Next catologue arrived the first page I turned to was maternity clothes! How bad is that!

The shettles method sounds interesting, what's that then? Might have to give it a go, depending on what it involves of course

We may be TTC around the same time then bebe

bebejones · 03/01/2010 21:21

Cheekster - Good explanation of shettles method here. Have done lots of reading online about things you can 'do' that may or may not have influence over gender. Not sure if any of it works, but no harm in trying

One of my SIL's did it for #3 and got the boy that they had wanted so who knows?!

bebejones · 03/01/2010 21:22

Good Luck Jennimoo!

Kayzr · 03/01/2010 22:00

I have the 'How to choose the sex of your baby' book and I finished reading it yesterday. Now DH is reading it now. I can't wait to get going but we have to wait for August at the very earliest.
