Hi everyone! Hubby and I are desperately broody and have been for a few years. We're hoping to TTC later this year, we're having to wait til Hubby finishes his degree as we just can't afford to have a baby whilst he's a student. Am wanting to come off the pill round about May, and hopefully TTC about Nov/Dec. Want to come off the pill a few months early as I've been on it for over 14 yrs, and would like to know what its like to have normal periods!

Be nice to know if anyone else is in a similar situation.

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining, was just reading through your thread and and realised a few off you had come off the pill and had to wait a while for periods to resume,i'm on cd 37 and still no sign,is this normal? i'm ttc no3 and on cycle one, did'nt have this problem last two times

Hobnob76 · 20/07/2009 16:29

Hi tobago04 I think when it comes to to periods after the pill, everyone's different. It'd be great if we knew what our bodies were going to do wouldn't it ? I suppose I was one of the lucky ones, where I had a period after 30 days. Have you tested ? I'd have thought if you were on CD 37 you'd get a result either way. Good luck!

Thanks hobnob, the last test i did was yesterday so you'd think it would show up by now,but then again,i just got out my test from dd2,it was one where you take a sample to the pharmacy,it says i was 10 days late and i also remember doing a test the day before at home and it was really really faint
Just been to the loo though and there was a tiny tiny little bit of blood,to be honest by now i don't care either way aslong as something happens soon!!

Kaylo · 21/07/2009 10:24

Welcome tobago How are you?

Had my first day back at work y'day after 6 weeks off and it was actually ok - would def have preferred not being there but still, it's money towards my maternity leave I guess. That thought is keeping me going with it.

How is everyone? I think I'll be on here a lot less now I'm back at work but I'll still try and catch up as often as I can.

Hope you're all well xxx

Hobnob76 · 21/07/2009 20:40

Hi Kaylo I've been at work too (I work in a school, am off for the summer hols, and I've started work at a playscheme). Like you say its all money towards babies . I feel like rubbish tonight, have a hell of a headache, early to bed me thinks!

Hi hobnob hope you're feeling better!

Bit of help needed please if possible - I'm gonna post it as a separate thread as well but thought I'd ask you ladies as well.

I've been trying to work out my cycle for the last few months and have figured out that it runs 28 days one month then 29 days month after, then 28, then 29 etc. My problem is I'm also trying to test to see when I ovulate but I just keeping getting negative tests? I usually do the Ov Test between 10am-2pm depending on when breaks etc are at work and if I get a minute at home from a week after AF to a week before next AF. Admittedly some days I've missed but surely in 4 months I should have had a positive OPK by now?

I know I definitely ovulate - possible TMI but my mum always picks up that I smell different at around ov time every month (not bad btw, just different) Still negative tests tho?
Could be dodgy tests I guess as they're eBay bulk cheapy specials - think I got 20 for £2!

Any help/advice muchly appreciated girls xxx

rimmer08 · 22/07/2009 09:10

kaylo- no experience of this i am afraid, its all baffling to me. i am not looking forward to not knowing my cycle etc, esp as been on pill for 14years. very very good luck to you though !

Hobnob76 · 22/07/2009 10:16

Thanks Kaylo, sorry I've also no experience of OPK's etc, having only just come off the pill myself. It could be the sticks they do sound very cheap, maybe try a different brand ? I knew I'd ov'd last month (or guessing that I did) because I had pains etc. Hope you get an answer.

Hi all,
can i join here to? I am soooo broody you wouldn't believe. I have had a cp last sept, managed to concieve again in dec but had a mc at 12 weeks (march). A friend that i was pg with has just gone into have her babes and i'm feeling gutted as i was meant to have mine after.
Have been ttc since but with no luck. Was due af last mon but had a really bad sickky bug when it was my 'fertile' time so don't think it's happened this time round either.
Am feeling so low at the mo and just want to be pg again - it's taken us a year and it's been so up and down, and i'm getting frustrated with it now which doesn't help!!
I haven't really got any signs that i'm pg this time round so just waiting for af to arrive. xx

Hobnob76 · 22/07/2009 11:20

Hi and welcome Angelfifi, so sorry to hear about your CP and MC you've been dealt a rather crap card haven't you. I can't even begin to think what you are going through. Hope AF stays away and takes a nine month hol for you

Angelfifi · 22/07/2009 11:25

Thanks hobnob76 never rains but poors - hopefully it will all be worth it, but sometimes you just can't see that light at the end of the tunnel.
Are you ttc now, and come off the pill? or are you waiting until later in the year?
Will catch up with some posts on here.

Hobnob76 · 22/07/2009 17:40

I knw what you mean Angelfifi I've come off the pill in preparation to TTC in December, came off early as I thought it's take ages for my periods to come back. Came off in June and had a period 30/31 days after the pill induced period, we'll see what next month brings as I daren't say I've gone back to normal just yet!

OP posts:
Kaylo · 23/07/2009 09:06

Hi everyone - hope everyone is ok?
Welcome Angel I'm sorry you're so low - I really hope AF stays away and you get your reward for the nastiness mothernature has put you through.

The light really can be difficult to see so I know what you mean however can't imagine what you're going through - big smiles coming your way

I think I'm just gonna muddle through with the opk tests - I still don't know if theres a certain time of day to do it but never mind. It's not gonna make any difference to when I start TTC so will just see how it goes.

Cyber hugs to all x

Medee · 23/07/2009 17:38

hi Angel, sorry to hear about your troubles.

I've got all the signs of an impending period, with pains in my lower abdomen and back, but no sign of it yet. It would be bang on schedule if it came in the next couple of days, my cycle always used to be in the low 30s.

OneLonelySock · 23/07/2009 22:45

kaylo Your mum can smell you ovulating??!?Fantastic! I never realised that smell might factor into this fertility lark, although I'm not sure how DH will take it if I start asking him to point out if I smell wierd.

Love to all, hoping that work and achy periods aren't bringing you down.

(Specially large zen hug to Angel --;-{@ )

Angelfifi · 24/07/2009 07:49

Hi all,
Thank you so much for all your hugs it's such a lovely thread.
I did a fr test today and can't belive it came back a BFP i'm still in shock, can't believe it, just as i start this lovely thread - lets hope it makes it a lucky thread for all of you. Although i am scared now of mc'ing again so hope all goes well.

Kaylo · 24/07/2009 10:03

WOW!!!!!

Angel that is fantstic news - I'm sooooooo pleased for you, you really really deserve this. Massive congratulatory hugs to you Sending sticky-bean vibes to you!!

LonelySock yeah, my mum comments without fail every month between 10-14 days after AF that I smell different, I was like at first and I was quite offended but she said it isn't a bad nasty smell, just different - I can't think of anything else it could be as I always use the same perfume. SHe is the only person that notices tho - I asked DH casually one day and he laughed at me! Afterwards tho he said I smelled the same to him - maybe its a mum thing?

medee pickles about the period - hope it's not too bad for you

Love, bubbles and hugs to all.
Conratulations again to you Angel
xxxxxxxx

CurlyCasper · 24/07/2009 12:13

OMG - congrats Angel, and hello as well! Look what happens when you resist MN for a couple of days to get on with work...

Nought to report here. Just temping and CM checking with some very inconsistent results, and awaiting rubella blood test results.

Medee · 24/07/2009 16:55

great news, Angel!

Still no period here, despite lots of signs two days ago. Oh well.

OneLonelySock · 25/07/2009 10:22

Excellent news Angel, I'll raid the kitchen later tonight and have a celebratory drink on your behalf! (Seeing as how you ought not to now I think someone needs to )

Angelfifi · 25/07/2009 11:06

Hobnob76 · 26/07/2009 08:45
