Anyone else?

joy and oneyummymummy thank you so much for your lovely messages. I think I have come to the decision that I don't want to take the anti-depressants. I want to know that I have found ways to deal with anxiety and feeling sad, and not just that I have found a way of masking it, if that makes sense. I have even got a consultation with a counsellor who specialises in anxiety and hopefully will get to see her this week. As for TTC, I think this month is out because of the timing of DH's skiing, but in a way I quite like the thought of having a month off, without having to think about it. I think we will TTC next month, but I want to try not to get so obsessed about it as before I was making silly deadlines in my head and I need to just think 'when it happens, it happens' , and if it does take longer than expected, it doesn't really matter in the long run. I hope all that makes sense! Thanks again for your messages. I hope you're feeling OK, I feel like i have been totally self-absorbed this weekend and still not properly caught up on everyone's news . Next week I will be a better MN-er, I promise!

oneyummymummy · 25/01/2009 22:30

Glad your feeling better about your decision katster (sorry I spelt that wrong in my last post ) I think it is the start to your recovery to feel happy and confident that you can beat it and help yourself, all by yourself. When you feel like you are making decisions for yourself then it makes you much more open to getting better, the counselling sessions should help loads too, as long as you are honest with yourself and with the counsellor then it will work much better! Anyway TTC can be stressful in itself and maybe if you give yourself a little break from it, you may come back totally refreshed and fall PG straight away They do say that when you stop TTC and relax about it, then a lot of women end up falling PG because they are less stressed! You said it was to do with your job too...maybe a career change is in order? Before I fell PG with DD I was getting very stressed at work and was looking to change jobs and getting PG actually made it worse because I knew I had to stay there for a few more months to get maternity pay (if I wasnt PG I could have left and got a new job within a month). Anyway I really hope it gets sorted and your DH is home soon to help you out.

How is everyone else doing, any more testers ?

This thread is dying......where are you all

Well I think AF has finally arrived this morning, but pain-free for a change! Don't know whats happened to my body this month!

Did everyone have a good weekend?

Joy27 · 26/01/2009 15:40

Hello I am here! But where is everyone else?

Glad to hear af finally arrived yummy- I know you have been really frustrated waiting to know what's going on.

Also glad you're feeling clearer Katser. Let us know how you get with docs etc.

I think we are a write-off for this month as I'm pretty sure I ov'd yesterday and we haven't been able to bd since friday- prob won't tonight either. Ah well.

OK here's a question to get conversation going: has anyone thought about taking a month off ttc "just because"? I quite fancy not fretting about it for a change so might just take a "see what happens" attitude next month. If I can manage it that is...

Antdamm · 26/01/2009 16:00

hi all,

ive been lurking again. At the start of last week i thought af was due, but wen i looked back at my calendar, i was already a week late. I waited until the weekend to get a test - got cheapies from asda. One was +ve and we were over the moon, this was on saturday. But today i took another - it was just sitting there and I couldnt resist!! and it was negative.

I know that you can have false negatives. And there are small chances of getting false positives. Could it have been a chemical pregnancy? I was, but now im not?
I feel like crap, and I also feel like af is on her way

Joy27 · 26/01/2009 16:36

Antdamn sorry to hear that
I don't know much about hpts or chemical pregnancies, but perhaps if you're very newly pregnant, your hcg levels will only be high enough to detect first thing in the morning? Did you test first thing on Sat but later on today?

I guess all you can do is buy a new test from a different packet (in case the batch you have is duff) and try tomorrow morning, and in the mean time hope that af doesn't turn up.

I hope you get your bfp again. Do let us know.

Antdamm · 26/01/2009 17:05

Hi again,

Sorry TMI but, wen i went to the loo and wiped - there was brown blood. I looked at another thread on here that says it could be old blood from your expected period. Could this just be my body getting rid of pg? Or could it be that I am still pg and this is just Old Blood?

Am confused.

Joy, thanks. I have sent dp to shops to buy another pg test, i took both tests at the same time of the day - as soon as i got out of bed.
Hoping that I did get a dud test [clutching at straws emoticon]

lam81 · 26/01/2009 17:23

Hi guys

kat sorry to hear of ur situation,i hope things get better for u soon

ant thats ashame bout tests, its so annoying not to know one way or another!!

I'm due af on wed/thurs couldn't resist testing this morning but got a bfn,it was with a first response one so feel like if i was it would've shown up on that, gutted as i have a few symptoms, still hopefull that i'm testing too early and that af wont arrive and i can test when its late, and probably everyday until thurs!!i'm so impatient, cant stand the wait x

bubblebell1 · 26/01/2009 18:22

Hi Girls!

its been so hectic here that i havnt had chance to post...we are decorating the porch, hallway, stairs and landing its hard work with a 23 month old treading in everything and leaning on walls.. but will be worth it all in the end im sure.

kat i hope you are ok and can work out yourself whats best for you xxx

ant im sorry that your test was neg.. i would try another brand and use a first morning sample and see what happens.

joy i often think i should have a break from ttc especially when the boys are being hard work but its become part of my daily routine now it would be just as hard trying to stop looking for signs etc. i might not bother with fertility friend next cycle tho. seems more agro than its worth.

hope your all well... im going to test next tues. that would be cd31 and if my cycle is back to normal i would be 'late' so fingers crossed for then.

anyone testing before me? we need some BFPs soon

VeryKeenForABean · 26/01/2009 20:03

Thanks for welcoming me angelfairy & lam - I did manage to get through the w/e without testing, ut did one this am and was BFN - so feel a bit down now.

Am feeling very much like AF is about to arrive, so will wait 'til Weds and if she isn't here allow myself another test.

Antdamm sorry you're having a hard time

Kat - hope things are better for you x

Baby dust ta all x

oneyummymummy · 26/01/2009 21:32

Hi, sorry to hear about everyones BFN's, hopefully its just too early to tell, and we'll have loads more BFP soon!

ant have you tested again yet? I think brown blood is supposed to be 'old' blood but Im not 100% sure about these things. Hope for a BFP for you.

lam Its sooo hard to wait isn't it, and were only setting ourselves up for dissappointment really, If you are PG then you will be syill in a few days, so it makes more sense to wait and test late....but in the real world I dont make much sense anyway

bubble you have too much will-power to not test. How do you do it?

joy this month Im going to 'take it easy' a bit with TTC, not going to stop, but just not going to activly plan everything. I'll et you know how it goes........

verykeen sorry about your BFN, fingers crossed for your next test.

Im still really unsure what is going on with me...I thought AF had arrived but seems to be spotting, whhich I NEVER get. This month has been a very weird one for me, my body doesn't seem to be functioning properly. I never spot and always have pain followed by AF guess its just a guessing game really. Good old AF playing tricks on me. So I guess that means its about 50days from last AF, maybe a little less, but I never have cycles THIS long!

bubblebell1 · 27/01/2009 07:55

morning girls!

my will power left the building at 5am this morn.. i am only on cd24 but did a test and surprise surprise it was a bfn i went back to bed and when i went back this morn its a BFP!!! confused or what... did another test and thats a bfn too! dh saying there is a definate cross on 1 and a def neg on another.. they are clear blue tests are they normally unreliable?

oneyummymummy · 27/01/2009 08:35

bubble on the leaflet inside it says that any result after 10 mins should be disregarded. Only if a BFP shows up in the 5-10 mins after testing. SORRY, however it doesn't say why you would get a BFP 30 mins later......because most of them dont change. Maybe an early PG, so very low levels, so they dont want to get your hopes up incase it doesnt implant or something! Fingers crossed for a sticky one for you and another BFP!!

CB are very good ones usually.

bubblebell1 · 27/01/2009 08:39

thanks yummy just gonna take it as a bfn and wait a few days week and test again.

Joy27 · 27/01/2009 09:07

yummy... spotting? Could it be implantation? Didn't you say you'd ov-ed a couple of weeks ago? I don't mean to get your hopes up- but we all know that our hopes are constantly up anyway!

bubblebell fingers crossed on Weds!

So I guess I'm on the 2ww now. This month has been useful, as I reckon I've pinpointed when I ov. Tmi here, but it was actually good that my dp went away around my fertile time, as although it means we prob haven't got me knocked up, it did mean I was able to spot EWCM more effectively without, er, other subtances clouding my judgement. Ahem.

By my new knicker-checking calculations there's a chance I ov-ed on Sun (CD16) or yest (CD17), so despite dp being away over the weekend, we had a final- well I suppose you could call it a FFGL (F* For Good Luck- could be a new acronym?!)- last night. Now I will bow out gracefully from my efforts for Jan and wait. Obv we'll still get busy, but without the mumzilla edge to it! Luckily we're going on a fab holiday next week (snowy rather than sunny) so that should keep my mind off things.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

oneyummymummy · 27/01/2009 09:14

bubble maybe just a couple of days will be enough! Fingers crossed for you.

joy I have no idea when I ov'ed now! I thought (because of EWCM) I ov'ed on the 1st of the month, but clearly I didnt, had too many BFN since then! I just dont have a clue, unless its the antibiotics that are now messing with AF? Have a lovely time away (Im not jealous....dont know what gave you that idea ) Fingers crossed that the FFGL worked.

Antdamm · 27/01/2009 16:03

hi all,

things are still confusing - this morning did two clearblue tests from chemists and they were both duds!!!!! No control lines. I am livid, how could this happen to me
My DP has suggested we wait until weekend to test again, to see if anything becomes of the 'brown blood', which isnt constant.

Im so fed up

bubble and joy fingers crossed for you both

I'll pop back on wen i feel less dpressed

oneyummymummy · 27/01/2009 16:45

ant same thing happened to me with duds....we did discuss the option to go back for a refund ....I wasn't brave enough! If it helps with the next one, I collected (TMI ALERT, kind of ) the urine sample in a pot ( not of the cooking kind) and tested that way, to make sure it absorbed enough urine.

Antdamm · 27/01/2009 16:58

hey yummymummy,

its heart breaking to get a dud isnt it? staring at a small plastic thing with your pee in it, waiting and ...nothing

I had to stop my DP taking the test back to the chemists - to insist on his money back. They cost 15euro!! which is quite a lot of money.

I did use a plastic diposable cup thingy to pee in, as I know that i cant pee straight or where im directed, so i did do the dunking.

oneyummymummy · 27/01/2009 17:24

and for you! You should let hime, if my DP would have taken it back I would have let him, on the understanding that I am staying at home but seriously its like buying a TV that doesn't work, you would defo take it back. Except its a bit more when it involves a stick full of your pee.

Are you going to get another? Or test another day? 15euro is a LOT of money. Where are you living? I done a google search and found that morrisons had a special offer on CB test and I got Two digital ones for £8.50, which is good for CB ones! Maybe you could do the same for your area? and always search for vouchers, for whatever you are buying, there are hundreds on the internet (like promotional codes etc...) they work for resturants too!

bubblebell1 · 28/01/2009 08:33

morning girls!

how are you all? any closer to some BFPs???

Joy27 · 28/01/2009 09:10

Morning bubblebell- any further developments on your saga? Are you still waiting to test?

Antdamn how about you?

I'm just trundling along on CD19 (yawn). Holiday starts on Friday and is excellently timed to take up the latter half of my 2ww.

I was a bit worried about hitting the slopes in a possible (hopeful) state of early pregnancy but my GP assures me that there is no such thing as "dislodging" a bean, given their minute size and level of cushioning. Was a bit to have asked actually!

Any news from anyone?

oneyummymummy · 28/01/2009 09:18

Glad that the docotr reasured you joy I think I would have to ask too, its just so precious that you wouldn't want anything to hinder the chance.

Well still no AF, was definatly spotting the other day, which I have never had, so finding this month a bit strange. But was thinking that if the pain I had was a burst ovarian cyst, then maybe thats why I've not got AF yet, as its the sack that the egg develops in that makes the uterus lining thicken and then shed if the egg isnt fertilised. Sooooo, if it was a cyst then the hormones wouldn't have been there. That is my conclusion of the whole thing, so that I don't go insane wondering.

How is everyone else?

oneyummymummy · 28/01/2009 09:19

Oh.my.god I really need to preview my messages, I type so fast but then don't correct my mistakes.
