Hello! Aww TILLY sorry about BFN . It's frustrating when dhs (or you) are away at crucial time, though if you could get a good supply of swimmers ready and waiting there may bn a chance? Thanks for good wishes about sickness - yes, here's to a sick free energy filled Christmas!
Exciting about July baby BABYBLUE! My dd1's birthday is July 27th, and it was my favourite of the 3 births weather-wise (though very hot in hospital who of course had radiators on full on what turned out to be hottest day of the year! ).
Maternity leave in UK isn't great in my opinion. Threy have recently extended it to a year, but the payments you get do drop dramatically after 6 months which is hard if you're used to two good wages coming in. I went back (because of financial reasons) after 4 months with dd1, 6 months with dds 2&3, and am hoping to have 6/7 months off thnis time as I'm saving up holidays to add on. Will be nice at least for you to know that when you go back this time you will be off again in the summer! Re: my flutterings still getting them on and off throughout the day, esp after eating/drinking something sweet (I'm sure they're not wind!!). Reassuring after mmc, but at the same time don't want to get into that horrid paranoid state when I worry if I don't feel anything. Can you imagine ringing the midwives to say I haven't felt movement and then tell them I'm 9 weeks . Almost worth it just to hear their response...
SQUIDGY, does MRSQB often work away during the week? I'd imagine that must be tough , though I guess you get used to it and the weekends must be nice
SCORPIO - sept/oct baby would be lovely too - plus they would be eldest in year which, going on experience with dd1 who is one of youngest does seem a massive advantage (though it all evens out of course!).
Hello to everyone else - any testing coming up?

SquidgyBrain · 20/11/2008 16:12

Diege - MR SQB doens't have to go away too often thankfully (although it is becoming more frequent) he does work 60 miles from home so is gone for 12 hours when he is home (gets home around 6pm), but it is the adult company and feet warming I miss!! although I would be lying to say the extra money he gets for being away isn't welcome!

Must be lovely to feel fluttering so early!! I can't imagine what a MW would say if you called. I had a M/C with my first pregnancy, so I bought a doppler just so I didn't have to worry. I would listen every night with DS1 it was lovely - even after I could feel him wiggle!

Diege · 21/11/2008 11:27

Phew, that sounds some job your dh has SQUIDGY! My dh had a spate of working away thurs/fri which was tough enough.
Hope everyone is well today, and looking forward to the freezing weekend!

scorpio1 · 21/11/2008 11:28

I nearly thought i was going to be blown away taking dc to school! cd30 today.

rainbowdays · 21/11/2008 11:36

Scorpio - so when are you testing??????

scorpio1 · 21/11/2008 11:40

I don't know...its not unheard of for my cycles to go 35 days, plus they cpuld still be irregular cos of BF?

I don't know, don't want to disappoint.

SquidgyBrain · 21/11/2008 13:05

Diege - it pays the bills I think that is the best part of his job lol - We are hoping he will have a few more trips coming in as he does get paid well for being away, and normally gets home at the weekends. He is on the earlier flight today although he is currently sitting on the runway waiting to take off due to the snow there - sitting watching the flight information websites. Still he will be home earlier than we thought and the DC should see him before bed.

It is pretty cold her already - we had some snow this morning, abd the sun is doing a nice job of drying everything up before we get more later on so hopefully the DC can get outside playing in it tomorrow before it vanishes.

Scorpio - I know what you mean about not wanting to get disapointed, hoping that your get a lovely BFP

babyblue3 · 21/11/2008 17:22

Tilly - sorry about your BFN... keep trying

Squidge - it must be tough on you the days your DH is away from home. Some days I cant wait for mine to walk through the door so I can officially punch out of duty! My baby has been sick all week with a nasty cough/cold and pink eye... and let me tell you... when DH walks through the door, I go up to bed! Forgot how tired you get in the early weeks!

Scorpio - keepin my fingers crossed... you feeling any symptoms?

Its getting pretty cold here too. Got our first real snow on Wednesday and the kids were all excited to play. I had to run to the store to grab boots because of course they had all outgrown theirs. Not to mention my DS wears thru ALL his stuff, so he needed a new snow jacket. With everything going on with me, I completely forgot about snow clothing for the kids. How bad is that?? LOL

SquidgyBrain · 21/11/2008 18:20

WOOOOHOOO Mr SQB has landed! Thank goodness he got the early flight as they cancelled the one he was booked on, so the flight that was supposed to get him home 4 and a half hours early managed to get him home a whopping 44 mins. So he just has the 60 mile plus drive home from the airport to drive now - and of course it is snowing and
he is driving my 2 seater rear wheeled soft top!

Diege · 22/11/2008 10:15

Wow so much snow about! I have to say I hate the stuff (baa humbug)as get really scared about slipping on our hills, so am pleased it hasn't arrived here yet!
Great news on MrSB Squidgy!!! Where about in the country are you out of interest? Thing we are the only place without snow!
How are you feeling BABYBLUE? Still in that lovely post-bfp haze? I love those early days when you don't feel sick yet but have a lovely secret from the world!
SCORPIO - know what you mean about the disappointment - any plans on testing soon or are you waiting it out?
Feeling better here. 10 weeks tomorrow so if anything like dd3 pregnancy do start to feel better around the 10 week mark.
Hope everyone wraps up warm and enjoys the weekend

IllegallyBrunette · 22/11/2008 10:26

Ahh this thread is lovely. Hope you don't mind me lurking.

Hopefully one day I will be able to join a ttc 4 thread.

Good luck ladies.

jemimap · 22/11/2008 11:01

Hi all... Desperate to conceive #4 and hoping you may be able to help?!

I suppose this is mainly directed to those of you who have exclusively BF for extended times..

I have just very reluctantly weaned 14 mth old 3rd DC from BF as haven't yet had AF return even once since birth!! I have found that my cycle has returned later with each subsequent child when BF (6mths after #1, 10mths after #2 and now nothing at 15 mths after #3) Has anyone else found this?

Weaned 2 weeks ago as really would like to try for #4 (eek!) and would like a smallish gap. Feel frustrated as managed to conceive both #2 and #3 whilst still BF and then weaned while pregnant but hasnt been possible this time.

My main question is how long after completely weaning from BF can I expect my cycle to return? I am an experienced TTC er and have been getting almost positive OPK's on and off over last 2 months or so (when feeding x2 a day) but never actually get a BBT rise so not yet managed to ovulate..

any experiences gratefully received

Huge congrats to all the BFP ers this month....

SquidgyBrain · 22/11/2008 11:58

Diege ? We are in Scotland, although the snow hasn?t really gotten to us, much to the DCs upset! Great news that you are beginning to feel a little better ? hoping you don?t pass the sickness baton to BabyBlue!

IllegallyBrunette ? welcome pull up a chair and get comfy

Jemiman ?Welcome. Sorry can?t help with the return of AF question. Hoping that your cycle returns soon and you can get started

scorpio1 · 22/11/2008 12:30

This is the first time i have BF, so soz, don't know much about period return and Bf, just that mine has.

Illegally - hello lurkers are welcome!

Me & DH have decided to test next weekend, as my cycles easily can go 35 days, so will just wait. it always takes me about 6 months to get pg anyway....have been pill less since July. it will be neg anyway have def pmt signs.

ready4anotherCoffee · 22/11/2008 12:37

oooh, it's cold here, even more of an excuse to snuggle up under the duvet with dh tonight

Not much help with the bf/af Q, for me af always returned about 2 weeks after stopping. dd2 is still ex bf, and still no really into food, so I am notexpecting much until she weans.

Good luck next weekend scorpio

ladylush · 22/11/2008 12:59

Good luck for next weekend Scorpio

scorpio1 · 22/11/2008 17:42

Hi LL How are you??

ladylush · 22/11/2008 18:33

I've been lazing around all day, sleeping, eating......erm and not much else Got a scan on Monday when I will be 7+5. Wish me luck

babyblue3 · 22/11/2008 18:41

So I was very surprised to hear from my doctor last night. She called to discuss my blood test. She offered to do a second test and refer me for an early scan, which definitely makes me feel better. Tuesday I go for my bloodwork, so hopefully my leveels are rising as they should be. It will definitle put my mind at ease.

Diege - I wont mind if you dont pass the sickness baton to me . Although I am happy you are feeling better! I had really bad morning sickness for my entire pregnancy with DC3 so I know how you feel.

jemimap - sorry... no advice for you. I ex bf until 6 months before I added baby food. I continued to bf until 10 months which is when I got my first af.

rainbowdays · 22/11/2008 22:12

jenimap - sorry, I am no help either. I got pg while b/fing 7month old, af had come back at 4 months. After dc2 af came back at 6 weeks despite exclusive b/f with no big gaps in feeding(was not ttc). This time af came back after 4 months again, have to wait and see if I will get pg while b/fing again.

deige - good to hear you are feeling a bit better.

babyblue - good to hear you doc is getting blood tests and scans sorted for you.

ladylush hope the scan goes well tomorrow.

illegally - lurk away, but why not chat with us too!

enjoying staying in the warm today.

RubysTheBoss · 24/11/2008 15:17

Hello girls,
Hope you are all well.

Can any of you tell be abit about implantation bleeding, and when it would be expected to happen

Thank you.

scorpio1 · 24/11/2008 18:43

it can happen around period due time, up until 6 weeks, would be a tinu mini bleed.

cd33 here.

tillyblue · 24/11/2008 22:32

Ruby... why?

I thought it was about 1 week after ov.

Sick kids again. Had all 3 tucked up on the sofa waching Peppa pig today and for the first time in memory I had all 3 in bed for 7.30pm.

How are you all doing?

OP posts:
babyblue3 · 25/11/2008 01:15

Tilly - I feel your pain with sick kids. Only my baby been sick, but its been bad. She's up half the night because she can't breathe and coughs so hard she wakes herself up. Of course she has been sleeping in my bed, since DH and I are too sleepy (lazy) to keep trekking to her room every time she wakes. As a result, we are all zombies in the morning! That paired with the fact that I am falling asleep standing by 3pm has made me a very cranky mummy!

Ruby - I think implantation bleeding happens around time when you are expecting AF.

I'm sooo nervous and excited to get second round of blood tests tomorrow morning. Hopefully HCG levels going up the way they are supposed to and I can breathe again. Still no real morning sickness... just mild nausea now and then. My headaches have also stopped. I am just tired and hungry all the time!
