Agree kookykid - Oct is an excellent month for a wedding. Plus no-one was away so pretty much everyone we invited could come.

have added myself on list again

Dalyrmps no-one can pronounce my new surname either - is strange when you not used to it!

Ooh, weird. I got married on 15th Oct 2005, must be a good month

cantwaitforxmas · 28/11/2008 21:26

Hooray! DP has agreed we can start ttc NOW!

He realises that he does want us to have kids and that putting it off for a few months won't make him any less scared. I'm so excited! His only condition was that we don't start GOFing just because I am ovulating or have a big countdown to AF every month which is fair enough.

I'm so pleased ! I have updated the list:

Dalrymps · 29/11/2008 11:15

No pros, I was just so excited about being in the 'now' section i had to change it back lol

Dalrymps · 02/12/2008 09:20

Quiet on here lately...

How is everyone doing? Jus a few more days till my af is over then I can go for it, can't wait!!! Anyone else on a similar cycle to me?

cantwaitforxmas · 02/12/2008 14:18

Hi Dalrymps, how are you? Not getting knocked down by all the tumbleweed rolling around this thread this week I hope. AF has just packed her bags and moved on (CD 6) - does that make me a couple of days ahead of you or are we about the same?

LaTour - hope you had a relaxing weekend and managed to wash some knickers! What date is your op? I seem to remember its the 8th. I'll be away on holiday then so just want to say I hope it all goes well and you have a very speedy recovery and are ready to ttc by the end of the year - roll on xmas!

Hi to everyone else!

LaTourEiffel · 02/12/2008 16:36

Hi all - we had a lovely weekend and mum did ALL my washing for me! Phew! Now all my knickers are clean I can't shut my drawers because they're so full - time for a clear out me thinks!

You're right my op is next Monday, the 8th...I had an pre-op assessment today, had to have blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, bloods and an ecg trace done today, as well as medical history etc. They were quite good and managed to get it done in the time they said they would.

Today is CD4 so I'm probably on a similar cycle to you Dalrymps? By the end of next week I'll be CD17 which is around OV time for me, so not sure we'll be able to catch this cycle with gall bladder wounds! but if I'll be doing my best - DH might need some convincing though

It was DS birthday yesterday but we had a problem picking up the dog on Sunday and I ended up having to leave DS with a babysitter and go get the dog, so we're having a little party for him today instead - its a good job he's too young to know what day it is!!!

On the way to the dog sitters last night, I got a text from a friend, apologising for not sending DS a card, explaining that she's been a bit poorly with MS - she's 18 weeks gone. I cried for about an hour - she's not that far off what I would have been if I hadn't had the MC and finding out about it yesterday was a bit too much - I know you can't plan these things, but I started off the year believing that I'd have another baby before DS was 2, then had to adjust and thought I'd at least I'd be pregnant...this year has been so pap for me, on so many levels.

Roll on 2009.

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 02/12/2008 21:47

Hey everyone,

I think i'm on CD4 today so similar cycles to both of you

Latour - glad you had all your washing done, it's lovely to have lots of clean clothes to choose from.

It's covered in snow here, very chilly tonight, glad to be cosy with the heating on!

cantwaitforxmas · 02/12/2008 22:48

Hi all,

was in tescos earlier and they had clear blue digital pregnancy tests on half price so couldn't resist picking one up .

Its freezing here too, the snow is lovely but I'm sick of being cold. I hope its a bit warmer in Spain next week - oooh might go and look at the weather report on the bbc website.

Night night.

LaTourEiffel · 03/12/2008 22:15

cwfx - I have to confess to a quick purchase from accessdiagnostics coz they sent me a special 20% discount voucher that was only valid in november - so I bought some more pre-seed and a couple of first response tests

I can't believe how quickly this week is going by, I guess because I've been so busy at work trying to get everything done and because home life has been hectic, with all the family visits for DS birthday too...

DS was getting ready for his bath last night, when my friend arrived to pick up her dog (we were looking after her whilst friend was on holiday). DS wanted to know who was at the door, so I let him go to the top of the stairs (in his birthday suit), he shouted down "i did do wee wee!", which took her back a bit, till I explained he'd just come off his potty, although he'd not produced anything, so we all laughed...then DS peed all over the landing! That'll teach me to ignore him

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 04/12/2008 09:16

Morning ladies,

I also have a confession that there is a shop where I live that sells anything and everything and they had pg tests for 2 for 99p! So I bought 2 packs . They're just the strip ones.

Latour - lol at your ds shouting 'I did do wee wee' then peeing all over the landing . How old is he?

It's snowing again this morning, we live on a hill and the road outside ours hasn't been gritted at all, dh called the council yesterday as it is frozen with bottle ice on the road and the pavement and an old man fell and split his head yeasterday (someone called an ambulance). Dh is having to hold on to lamposts to get down the hill to the car so he can go to work, I'm stuck in cause I would glide down the hill if I tried to go out with the buggy! Anyway, even after he called the council they still haven't gritted it

It does look lovely though

I have finished af and we had the first of many gofs last night, I know I won't be ov yet but best to get the practice in!

kookykid · 04/12/2008 19:12

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been AWOL - work is a blinkin nightmare at the moment.... I have never enjoyed my job less. Cannot wait to go down to 3 days after Xmas.

CWFX, really good news about your DH! Think there'll be a lot of GOFing going on on the wagon in the next few weeks. Fingers crossed you won't be too sore, after the op LaTour! (just trying out new Xmas smiley!)

LaTour thank goodness you've got some clean undies now too! Glad the weekend was good. I had lots of people over and had a stressful time looking after a neighbour's cat. Just what I didn't need after last week.

So indulge me in a bit (more) of me me me...
Bled for over a week after EMC and had BFN on a home test and confirmed by GP's test. Would you ttc this cycle??? I just can't imagine "wasting" an opportunity. Especially as it was so early. Surely it couldn't hurt to try this month? What would you do?! Have this stupid idea of getting a BFP on Xmas day.

LaTourEiffel · 04/12/2008 22:12

KK, if you feel ready, then I'd say sod it and go for it, the only reason I've heard doctor's give for waiting for a cycle is so that you know your dates, but to be honest, we all know ours pretty well anyway . Wouldn't a xmas BFP rush on the wagon be lovely . I have totally stopped obsessing about it now, I know it will happen for me when the time is right.

Dal, DS had his 2nd birthday on Monday! I'm not trying to potty train him as such - sort of baby led at the moment. We bought him a potty a few weeks ago and encourage him to sit on it before his bath at night time, nursery have said that he's asked to sit on it a couple of times there and managed to wee on it - for which he's been given a couple of stickers!

I talked about ttc with DH and he pointed out that if we wait till after xmas, I'll be able to drink and eat what I want over xmas... which means he really doesn't get that alcohol is really not that important to me.

Anyhoo, another busy day done, another few busy days - then the op, and I'll be forced to slow down...is it wrong to be looking forward to it...does that mean something will go wrong and it won't happen? I'm a bit afraid to acknowledge that I want something as this year has been so crap for me....

OP posts:
kookykid · 04/12/2008 22:31

LaTour,

You are always so wise and make me feel better about things. Think we would be good friends in RL??

If your DH is anything like mine, he'll say one thing and mean another. Maybe what he's talking about isn't really about drinking, but just taking the pressure off and enjoying yourselves without the worry of ttc. The very fact you're "looking forward to it" in terms of recuperating signals that you may be feeling the same? Thinking of you.

xxx

LaTourEiffel · 05/12/2008 21:52

KK - I'm sure we would . Where are you based? North, South, Middle? You've probably mentioned but I can't remember.

Had such a busy week this week I'm sure I should feel whacked, and my body does ache, but I still feel full of get up and go - which I think is my AD's working a bit overtime. I've been loads better and kind of feel relieved that there is such an improvement, as it means I was definitely right to go and ask the doc for them again.

I'm a bit nervous, I've got a sore throat this evening and a bit of a cough . I'd so better not be too ill come Monday

Had a really pants day at work today, yet more people being made redundant - three people got told yesterday they were at risk, and they were all at home today - but one came in and cleared his desk - he's worked there 19 years fgs, its terrible , right before christmas too.

Got a mad busy day tomorrow with several friends and their DC's popping round tomorrow, and I've forgotten to get anything to eat so will have to get up early in the morning now .

Am I having a festive overload

OP posts:
kookykid · 06/12/2008 12:16

LaTour take Vitamin C NOW!!! Oh, and brandy or something! Hope the lurgy stay away.
Sorry about work situation as well. Just awful. Must be so stressful and sad. Is your job relatively safe?

Not based in North South OR middle!! We are in Suffolk. We only moved here a year ago having lived in SE London for most of our lives. Can't say I miss it hugely. Obviously miss friends and family and sometimes having everything you need right on your doorstep. But knowing DD is going to grow up here and go to the little village school where everyone will know her is wonderful. We also find that people really want to come and visit, we so often have a houseful at the weekend, which I love.

You're in london aren't you? Where's everyone else based??

I've just staretd charting, but not doing it online. Has anyone else done it before?

kookykid · 07/12/2008 18:12

LaTour,

Will be thinking of you tomorrow. I have everything crossed.

X

LaTourEiffel · 07/12/2008 21:08

Hi KK, I'm not London, I'm midlands, I'm a country bumpkin at heart and would never survive in London.. .

I've spent most of the day in bed, my chest is threatening a cough and I'm really convinced there's going to be a problem tomorrow...will be having another lemsip in a minute and going to bed whilst crossing fingers and toes...

I think my job is relatively safe for now, but not sure what's going to happen in six months time, the only positive is that I'd get a reasonably decent redundancy package as I've been there quite a while.

By charting, do you mean temping or just writing down what happens when etc...I do that, I have an excel sheet I use to keep track of everything, including all symptoms etc as it helps to not get excited about 'symptoms' when I can look at the chart and see that they're the same every month . I've not done temping though - DH thought I was obsessed as it was, didn't think he'd support me taking my temperature every day too...

OP posts:
kookykid · 07/12/2008 21:37

Really hope your cold holds off. Would it be a long wait if it had to be postponed? So hope you don't have to.

Have taken some charts out of [http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0091887585/interactiveda52-21 this book]
(hasten to add I didn't buy it - a friend has lent it to me!)
It's been quite an interesting read, but tbh I have learnt so much from being on MN I knew lots of it already! After my EMC I just feel like I need to be doing something constructive. Not taking it too seriously, but the temping is a big part of monitoring the cycle. Have been pretty pants at it so far....

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

Claire236 · 08/12/2008 20:47

Haven't been posting recently due to having visitors & visiting myself so now trying to catch up with everyone.

kk I'm from Suffolk, although living in Germany now.

Hope you're ok LaTour.

I haven't tried charting as you have to be far more organised than I am for it to be effective. I managed to get the dates of my last AF on my calendar & needed a lie down. Will just stick to regular GOFing I think.

dibdabscribble · 09/12/2008 09:26

Hi, just to say I'm still here following all your posts (just about!) slightly grumpy about being one of only a few left waiting to TTC!

AndADalrympsInAPearTree · 09/12/2008 11:59

Morning ladies,

How is everyone today? I have had a headache since yeaterday evening (went on a shopping trip to Primark at the Metro centre with Pils, very stresfull and hot!), It's just about gone now after my second lot of paracetamol.

According to the 'ovulation calculator' I checked on the internet my 'fertile days' are wed 10th dec to mon 15th so we're going for an every other day gof attack at the moment . I even managed a gof with my headaches last night

Got our christmas tree up and have written all my cards so feeling very festive

kookykid · 09/12/2008 19:26

Evening all,

Claire, whereabouts in Suffolk are you from? We are near Bury. How come you ended up in Germany?!

Dib Can't remember... why the wait?! Can't you get cracking now??

Dal (like the new name!) Ouch for headache. Primark with the PILs sounds like enough to give anyone a sore head!
What OV calculator are you using?? In my usual cycles before EMC I had a 30/31 day cycle so OVd around CD17, which is today! Despite the nurse at the GPs suggesting we wait a cycle before ttc again I have taken an executive decision and we're going for it anyway! Bit of 'determined' GOFing over in the Kooky household too as DH not feeling great (had to wake him up last night ). DD also not well so had to take the day off work - hate to do it, but no choice really.
Am serioualy impressed your tree is up and cards done - I am finding the festive spirit is lacking a bit this year.
