hey everyone, thought i would let you all know whats happenin....... its driving me nuts.

AF still not here, but tested this morning and got a BFN. I will leave myself on the list and change it when i know whats happening.

TMI warning........ okay so the day when i thought i had AF was strange as "it" was lighter and pink, with alot of mucas stuff, and it disappeared the same day...... the same thing happened today so thought it was AF, but it has disappeared again. really not sure whats happening. I know i wont be pg as the test would show at this stage?! its never simple is it lol

good luck to all testing soon and sorry to those who met AF again.

sorry ells, you posted your UCL an all that as i was typing

Sunnydale · 29/11/2008 13:28

Hello all, haven't posted for a while but been reading avidly. Wishing, can't believe it's that time of the month for you again (I feel I know your cycle almost as well as my own!) - you have full permission to symptom spot, and sending you loads of babydust along with everyone else who's due to test. Issy, how are you doing? Hope all is well, let us know xxx

Well, after deciding to follow the Deanna plan, it is now CD11 and we've STILL not BD'd... the reason? My in-laws are staying! Honestly, it's a passion killer! Every time I look at DH's dad in his pyjamas and vest... well, it kills it, let me tell you. Also, we went to see The Changeling last night - definitely not the sort of film to get you in the mood. Tonight, I know we'll have to get busy but I am the only woman on here that hates doing it "on demand"? I suppose a sense of humour is what's needed in lieu of spontaneous passion. Er. Hee hee hee?

SuziBhoy · 29/11/2008 13:36

sunnydale pmsl at your FIL in pjs and vest, i had to stay at PIL once and bumped into the dad in the hall during the night in his pants and vest, lol, so know exactly what you mean. I hate the on demand bd, its just so not spontaneous at all.

Issy42 · 29/11/2008 14:50

This thread moves so fast I've had to take notes to catch up with you all before I can post and by the time I got to the end there were 5 more . I'm sure I will cross post too and apologies if I've missed anyone and for the exceptionally long post.

Sorry that AF arrived verykeen, sans04, aideesmum and bexaa, that you got temp drop evie and that you got BFNs bubblebell, Suzi and 2manychips . Passing you all a large glass of wine, a big bar of chocolate and a huge sprinkling of babydust for your new cycle. Hoping the wait goes quickly for you RipMacWinkle and lillypie and that there are BFPs for you all at the end. Good luck smileycat (that was spooky, hope it's a sign), BabyBump2B, wishing and others at the top. Hope when you test it brings a BFP for you. Enjoy the bding sunnydale, girlwithacurl, olivo and everyone else at that stage. Welcome to August ellsbellzie, but sorry July didn't happen for you .

Headfairy lol at the home scanning machine . Re the boy/girl thing, I read on ff that girl sperm is better able to cope with more hostile cm but boy sperm swims faster, so if bd as or after egg released more likely to be a boy and if bd a day or two before egg released more likely to be a girl. Would be interesting if someone researched whether IUI babies are more often boys. So with your timing you could be on for a girl.

Lollysmum - I'm taking pregnacare conception for the first time this cycle, so will see in next few days if any difference.

smallone - hope the car survived the long drive. My mum sells her wares at craft fairs too, what is it you sell? You must be starting the 2ww about now, hope it goes quickly for you too.

Thanks for asking after me Sunnydale. Lol at not wanting to bd. As a single girl I'd be quite happy to, much more romantic than a catheter, a syringe and a nurse . I got through the week OK. Had a wobble when got a panicky call from someone at work about me not going to a meeting at the fertility clinic (not sure whether I mentioned here that I was asked to go to a meeting about fertility nurse pay at work) and thought I might have to go, but I explained that wasn't part of my team's work so would be dealt with operationally. Even more of a conflict of interest as I may have to transfer to that clinic soon. Having my last IUI attempt next week. Scan yesterday showed a 1.5 and lots of 1.2/1.1, so hoping everything waits til Monday. Good news is that after 7 failed attempts, they are not going to cancel me no matter how many follicles I have over 1.4, so grow little ones grow! Temp was up this morning but hoping just a Saturday lie in blip as OPK still -ve. If this one fails, then nurse has suggested I go for IVF, which means transfer to the other clinic (but same consultant and donor). Not sure how much it costs though as can't tell what's included in IVF price and what's extra. Looks like around £3000-£3500. If I use up all my savings and penny pinch hugely I could just about afford one attempt but then would have to save up for a second by which time my chances of success would be much lower and even later to have chance of meeting someone and doing it all the normal way. Decision, decisions.

Wow it's taken me an hour and three quarters to read all the posts and post back, can't you tell I'm avoiding the housework .

SuziBhoy · 29/11/2008 14:58

wow issy im impressed with your catching up... i always miss something lol! i hope your little ones grow and that you dont have to go gor IVF. how long do you have to wait before you know? thinking of you.

ilikeyoursleeves · 29/11/2008 15:14

Hi wishing this month is sounding very promising for you! Would your AF not be due today? What symptoms have you spotted then? It ain't over til it's over!

Issy I do hope this months IUI works out and you won't need to go down the IVF route. Good luck!

Suzibhoy sorry you got a BFN this morning but AF still isn't here which is something to hold on to. Fingers crossed for you!

Good luck to all

Wishing · 29/11/2008 16:07

BabyBump2B · 29/11/2008 16:30

I'm in the same position as Wishing - no AF! And I'm usually like clockwork.

Not sure what to do as the test was a def BFN.

Need to rant for a minute. Went and saw some friends last night and she's pregnant. First try! We are now officially taking the longest out of everyone we know.

So we're there - and while I am incredibly happy for her I would also trade places with her in a heartbeat - and DH starts going on about it all has to do with the fact that I'm not relaxed and tracking cycles and he knows all these people who tried for years and then gave up and got pregnant. I could have killed him. I know he was a bit drunk but it kills me that he had no idea as to how hurtful he was being. Prat!

Wish AF would just show up and put me out of my misery! Sorry I'm a big downer this morning ! It sometimes just gets to me...

HeadFairy · 29/11/2008 17:30

Hi all,

Wishing, congrats at getting this far without symptom spotting, now you can go mad symptom spotting like a good 'un

Issy, good luck with IUI this month. I don't know much about fertility treatment, so I don't know if what you posted is good news or not, but here's hoping it's good news. I have a friend who's on her third run of IVF, I haven't spoken to her for ages, and in a way I'm a little scared to just in case it didn't go well. It must be rotten telling people it didn't work again. She works at a women's hospital and knows all the consultants too, which she does feel a bit awkward about, but it also means they are extra kind to her, and she gets to see much more information than you normally would. Don't know if that's a good thing or not!

Babybump2b, don't worry about people telling you to relax, being stressed doesn't stop you getting pg. I tell this story all the time... my grandmother's always reminding me how she got pg in an air raid shelter during the Blitz. Now how stressful can that be? My grandparents had just got married, and my grandad only had 2 days leave before he was going back to his base again, they were staying at a friend's house as their "honeymoon" and there was an air raid warning. My grandmother was bricking it because a bomb dropped at the end of the street when they were in the shelter. They felt the ground shake. So to cheer themselves up, guess what they did? Conceive my mum

Oh and another thing, who's to say those people who try and try and try for 40 cycles then give up and get pg on the 41st cycle, wouldn't have got pg on the 41st cycle even if they were still temping and charting etc etc? So it's just coincidence IMO when that happens.

Well I'm not one to practice what I preach really, I've been stressing all day, totally irrationally, about ectopic pregnancies. Last cycle I was convinced I was pg, had milk let down sensations and tingly nips, but when AF came I obv accepted I wasn't. AF wasn't very long though, only a day and a half, and on about cd6 I took a pg test, just out of curiosity. Of course it was a BFP. However, for the past couple of days I've had quite sharp pains low down and to one side. For a while I thought they were ov pains, but then I started getting paranoid that the BFN was wrong and I had an ectopic pregnancy, esp as I started to get some shoulder pain. However, this shoulder pain feels more muscular, and it's the shoulder I carry my (far too heavy) bag on, and the arm I always use to carry ds around. Plus it's a bit on and off, and the pain in my abdomen is now more like lower back pain, wrapping around my waist. So I think it must be a postural thing (I have terrible posture). But I have been really working myself up thinking it might be an ectopic pregnancy about to rupture. Paranoid or what? Note to self, go and do something more important than worry about something that's highly unlikely!

Well I'm at work all evening to midnight, so I'm here if anyone else is posting. I'm very bored so I'll be all over active convos like a rash.

Have a great evening everyone x

HeadFairy · 29/11/2008 19:08

OK, i've just googled ectopic pregnancy symptoms and my shoulder pain is nothing like the shoulder pain you get with an EP.. Phew!

Now I'm going to STEP AWAY FROM GOOGLE

BabyBump2B · 29/11/2008 19:50

Oh headfairy thanks for the kind words - its just what I needed to hear.

Ok - so... I need some MN expert opinions.

I just peed on another pg test, its one of the + or - ones. Ok the minus line is really prominent but there is an incredibly faint line crossing it. The line crossing it is the same strength as the test line but it is really, really, really faint.

Thoughts?

olivo · 29/11/2008 19:54

babybump2be - isn't any line a positive? I rhought it was. if so, i think congratulations are on order!

HeadFairy · 29/11/2008 19:57

You're welcome babybump2b... and don't they say a line is a line? Go and fork out for a digital one tomorrow... no squinting at silly little lines on those

Congrats btw After feeling so hurt by your dh's comments yesterday this could be the perfect comeback

Sunnydale · 29/11/2008 21:33

Hello all (am stepping away from the telly and posting between parts 1 and 2 of X Factor). Babybump, I agree with Olivo and thought any line, however faint, is still a positive. A BFP (Big Faint Positive) instead of a Fat one. As I understand it, OPKs have to have obvious lines to mean you're ovulating but PKs only need faint ones to mean you're PG - a line is a line. Test tomorrow to be sure. Hell, test in the middle of the night, even!

Issy, great to hear from you and best of luck with the IUI and here's hoping no need for IVF. You are v strong going through it - there's me moaning about having to BD when I'm not in the mood and there's you doing this all on your own. It makes me realise I shouldn't be complaining at all. Although, you haven't seen my FIL (father in law?) snoring on our sofa with his fly undone! Heh heh. Headfairy, I'm sure it's not ectopic - googling is the worst thing to do sometimes, although I'm a hypocrite to say so as I've scared myself so many times. I feel sure we're gonna have some more BFPs on here soon. Here's to a big fat bag of babydust scattered over us all with a great big turbo-charged hairdryer (soz, have had 2 glasses of wine tonight - it's CD11 after all )

HeadFairy · 29/11/2008 21:50

aw thanks sunnydale... I'm at your glass of wine. I'm at work and on 2ww so no wine for me. I'm watching I'm a celeb waiting for the x factor results (busy night at work ) I'm trying very hard not to start symptom spotting after all my "wise" words to wishing, but it's perishing cold in my office and my nips are standing to attention, much like they do when I'm pg

Issy42 · 29/11/2008 22:03

Thanks all.

Babybump - is the line blue/pink or grey? According to the peeonastick website if it's a coloured line it's a positive but if it's a grey one it could be an evaporation line. I'm sure it's a positive for you but as the others say check again tomorrow. Send that dh of yours to a 24-hour Tesco so you can use fmu .

Snap Sunnydale. Hope Diana doesn't go - she's so sweet. Don't feel you can't complain, I'm just of the rest of you . Not sure I really want to picture the image of your FIL though .

Headfairy totally with you on the obsessing. I had really sharp pains on one side a few days after treatment last time and was convinced it was an ectopic. Hope the night shift is moving quickly for you.

HeadFairy · 29/11/2008 22:39

Thanks Issy, good to know I'm not the only paranoid hypochondriac When I was pg with ds I was so paranoid about ectopic pregnancy as I've had chlamydia before (despite the fact that I've had dye injected through my tubes to confirm they were clear - they were). I didn't stop worrying til I got to 10 weeks, by which time I thought I would have felt it. Then I started worrying about mmc! I never give myself a break!

Luckily I'm not on a full night shift, due to finish at midnight thirty, but I may get away before midnight

BabyBump2B · 29/11/2008 22:48

Ok ladies - couldn't resist! Peed on a digital stick and... its BFP I burst into tears when I saw it. I'm absolutely blown away and will be peeing on some other sticks just to be sure before I see the Dr on Monday!

Eeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!

HeadFairy · 29/11/2008 22:50

Oh wow!!! Congratulations babybump2b (never a more appropriate name eh? )

Digital sticks are the way forward!

Yay yay and double yay! BFPs a go go!!!

HeadFairy · 29/11/2008 22:51

Oh and isn't that "pregnant" word on the stick the most satisfying thing you'll ever see?

RipMacWinkle · 29/11/2008 22:51

Oh wow - just logged back in on an off chance. Let me be the first to congratulate you on such a definite BFP!! Fantastic news.
