LittleCheese · 27/10/2008 10:00

Hi wondered if any one else was aiming for an August baby and fancied joining me this month to pass the time. This will be our 3rd cycle of TTC now and im on CD1 but staying positive.

My details are

Gemma C, TTC#2, usual cycle length 28-32 days, cd1

Please feel free to add yourself to the list, I would love some company.

OP posts:
LJ29 · 17/11/2008 20:38

Just clocked up BD #12!!! Can't quite believe how commited DH has been this month.

Good luck to all those in the 2ww. I think I must be starting it now but with irregular cycles I never can tell. Is there any news from those at the top of the list?

I also got a negative on OPK today but a positive yesterday so does that mean I ov'd yesterday or today?

2manychips · 17/11/2008 21:16

Hey I'm cd24 today- not holding out much hope though as dh was away around ov! hmph. Anyway, have absolutely no symptoms physically ,either pms wise or pg wise. But feeling overly weepy at Eastenders and seeing my dd a little poorly. guess af is on her way... anyone else around similar cd getting anything?

Sunnydale · 17/11/2008 21:19

Wishing, I can't believe your 2ww is here already - it seems like yesterday (though prob not for you) that you were doing last month's! Massive sprinkling of baby dust to you this time.

LJ I am so impressed with you and DH. Not wanting to pry, and only asking coz I too have irregular cycles and will need to follow in your footsteps next month - but do you have any tips? Quickies? Mornings? Nights? Both? I'm worried the BDing will feel too mechanical, but I suppose you've just gotta laugh, right? Er...

bluesatinsash · 17/11/2008 21:24

Hey All,

Thanks for 'stay away from the pg test' support - I'll not be doing one 'til Saturday which is aaaaaages away but patience is a virtue - ?

Am feeling very premenstrual but weird as I don't get pre-menstrual so all confused. I haven't symptom spotted before so don't know if its all in my head - arrgh!

Anyhoo only a few more days and i'll know one way or t'other. If it doesn't happen this month I'll still be 'trying for a baby in August' as my next EDD will be 31st Aug - although I may have overstayed my welcome by then!

Baby dust to all x

LJ29 · 17/11/2008 21:28

It has felt a bit mechanical especially as DH works one week of nights then has a week off so during his week at work we have to get it in quick after the kids have gone to bed and before he leaves. Also managed to get a couple of mornings in.

To be honest it really has just been a case of being determind, even when neither of us felt like it.I did forewarn him so at least he knew what was expected!!!

HeadFairy · 17/11/2008 23:24

Hello everyone,

Sorry to hear you're feeling so down Sunnydale. It's very hard sometimes to keep being cheerful but I always think to myself it's still the only life I'll ever have (unless you're a Buddhist and believe in reincarnation that is) so there's no point in ruining it getting down about something I have so little control over. You do what you can and hope. I do hope things look up for you soon.

Bluesatinsash, well done with the determination, keep it up. I've only ever really tested when I knew I was pg and it's so satisfying (oh apart from last week, despite the arrival of af I was convinced... wrongly as it turned out - oops! Not as in touch with my body as I thought )

Verykeen - I'll echo everyone else, go for the job. I always say there's one way to guarantee getting pg, either get a job you've always wanted or book a crazy adventurous holiday. Murphy's law states you'll get pg when it's least convenient (even though secretly I'd drop everything to get pg, pretending it's not a good time is good reverse psychology!)

LJ I'm sooo impressed! The times I've conceived we've done so by having lots of sex every day. Never mind that every other day thing, my plan was to bd every day for five days starting from cd12. It's worked twice. Luckily this month I'm off next week and I'm only doing day shifts at the weekend, which leaves our evenings free. No way I'm going to be able to keep up with you though

Keeping everything crossed for everyone xx

Hi Bella

Nice of you to join us as we very friendly bunch over here.

Most of us talk about OPKs (Ovualtion Predictor Kits), Temperature taking (i dont do this, but loads do) and CM monitoring (which i am getting better at.

I am following the sperm meets egg plan and i think quite afew are using it. Even if you dont follow it properly its an interesting read.

Hope that helps

pinkie08 · 18/11/2008 13:35

PS,

Hi Smiley nice to see you over here too.

bluesatinsash · 18/11/2008 15:30

Hi everyone and welcome bella and smiley Liked your "time and equipment" comment smiley - you're plenty young (says Blue who is 37 and a half!!)

Bean - re: going for job - I got a big promotion 4 weeks before I fell pregnant with DS. I could see my Boss's heart sink when I told her a mere 8 weeks into the job but I became very gung ho and thrived in my new role. Being pg gave me an inner strength and confidence, even in the days when I was discreetly throwing up in a bin. I didn't have one day off sick and could tell alot of doubters were silenced by my work ethic - so go for it!

Anyone seen ChubbyDick?

bubblebell1 · 18/11/2008 16:52

no blue not seen chubbydick but i did see on another thread that makka has her AF.

HomeintheSun · 18/11/2008 17:28

I've seen ChubbyDick on another thread AF visited her as well.

VeryKeenForABean · 18/11/2008 17:35

Thanks so much for all the positive messages!! Hadn't thought of it as being a good thing for ttc headfairy but it's worth a go!!

If it were to all happen at the same time for me, i will try and take a leaf out of your book blue!! I guess even if it happens straight away, you've got a good few months to make the right impression!

Hope all are feeling positive, and bding their socks off!! I am going to try and get to early next week before testing, my ebay parcel hasn't arrived, and stinginess will hold me back for a few days!!

Babydust to all x

SuziBhoy · 18/11/2008 18:06

hey all, oh this is getting to the exciting stages for those who are testing soon. think my AF is on its way tho, got the cramps and the bad skin to match and the aching back, which i normally get before AF, but theres still hope yet!!

BellaHarry · 18/11/2008 19:09

Thank you for being so welcoming! I'm going to check out this 'spermmeetsegg' thing sounds interesting. I'm going to start temping if it doesn't work out this cycle. It's So nice to speak to people about ttc as I won't dare do at work for obvious reasons!

Issy42 · 18/11/2008 19:12

Hi all and welcome to the new people on the thread.

I got the dreaded temperature drop to well below coverline today so AF will arrive later tonight/tomorrow . Was expecting it after the BFNs though.

VeryKeen - sorry I didn't answer your question very well - was getting confused with questions about maternity pay on July thread. I think as Sunnydale says, if they really want you for the job they won't mind waiting for you, so go for it.

I have a work dilemma. This morning I got copied into an e-mail from my boss saying I should attend a meeting to discuss some staffing issues (problems recruiting fertility nurses). Trouble is the meeting is at the private fertility clinic owned by my employer, which is based in the same hospital as the NHS clinic I attend. My consultant turns out also to be the director of the clinic and would be at the meeting. Luckily for now I'm off the hook as when I declared the conflict of interest to my boss, she informed me that it had just been decided that my team will not get involved at this stage. Trouble is I might have to be further down the line. My next attempt will be my last at IUI, I can't afford IVF and if the next attempt fails I can't bear the thought of having to have meetings at the fertility clinic for the next few months (or longer it takes ages for anything to get decided). The only other person that could have been given the task is off on maternity next month, so I won't be able to get out of it.

SpecialOffer · 18/11/2008 21:26

Ok, am new to this thread have been on and off mumsnet for a while.

I am TTC#2 and am in the first month of trying. I am on CD22, and my cycle is 28-32 days. I am driving myself crazy wondering and holding off POAS as I know its too early. My ds was a surprise so this ttc is all new to me, so be gentle!!

LJ29 · 18/11/2008 21:30

Welcome Specialoffer I'm sure you'll find us all a friendly bunch!!

Well ladies I think we have just about completed our BD marathon having clocked up #13 tonight!!! I'm on CD 22 now so think we shlud have caught OV whenever that was.

Re:OPKs - if I have a positive oone day and a negative the next, which day do I actually OV on?
