Anyone Planning To TTC From October

VeryKeenForABean · 23/08/2008 20:49

Hi, I had an ectopic in May and am coming up to the end of my 3 month wait following methotrexate treatment. Need to wait for blood results in September but hope to start TTC from October. Feel really positive about the future and want to start looking forward. Anyone want to pass the time with me?

Thanks olivo! I didn't know that, though the protein bit would make sense...

Bluesatinsash, I'm having the most incredible ovulation twinges in this first 'normal' cycle after my mc; did you have anything similar? It really feels almost like AF. I've heard of Mittelschmerz, but this is ridiculous!

SuziBhoy · 05/11/2008 16:04

thanks ladies,

Hello VKFAB, so how are you getting on then?

bluesatinsash · 05/11/2008 17:00

'tis funny you should say that VM as I remember commenting to DH that I could 'feel' my egg being released last month No twinges so far this month - on day 2 of OPKs, testing when I get home from work, getting the water down me for full bladder effect

p.s. Can I just say go Obama! I maybe biased being a bleeding heart Liberal but its a truly great day!

VillageMum · 05/11/2008 22:13

bluesatinsash - yay Obama - I'll second that!!

I'm convinced I actually ov'd at 4pm today as the twinges reached an excruciating pitch just then and have tailed off since. Ha. This must be the first time Obama and ovulation have been mentioned in the same post (at least I hope so).

bluesatinsash · 06/11/2008 14:20

Here's hoping your AF comes right on time too this month VM - your DH better be storing up his energy for all the bding coming his way!

Well I got a +ve from my OPKs this morning - smiley face from clearblue digital.

I normally don't test 'til evening but was down to last one and wanted to use it before I bought any more - which I now don't have to (well not this month anyway).

So have/will be bding Tues, Wed, tonight and tomorrow for good measure - DH loves this time of the month and keeps commenting on how good his sleeps are just now...

VillageMum · 06/11/2008 14:38

Good luck bluesatinsash! sounds as if you've got it nailed! Yes, I'm impatient for the next cycle so that we can start. Feel we've done our bit for self restraint and 'recovery' now (though actually I was relieved yesterday that we weren't ttc as the ov pains were so weird! Didn't feel normal, somehow!)

Hi pokeydot, hope you get that BFP when you test again...

dawn37 · 07/11/2008 08:30

Hi everyone, well nearly time to ttc again, very excited, however havn't had AF yet, but keep having all the symptoms. invested in a fertility monitor (was lucky & got an unused 1 of ebay for £20) its a 1st response 1, where you take temperature each morning. Does anyone know whether I should go to the doctor yet about AF, or how long it can take to get 1 after methotrexate? maybe being impatient!

VillageMum · 07/11/2008 11:21

dawn, hello, sorry I don't know anything about methotrexate and AFs, but if you're having all the symptoms then that sounds promising!

SuziBhoy · 07/11/2008 13:44

hi dawn

well im kind of in the same boat.......

ive just finished 3 months of the pill after methotrexate and my af has been and gone. i think i took my af around a week after being off the pill. I never went to my doctor but i remember her saying the time period can range from anything between a week and a month, so i wouldnt worry too much. everyone reacts different to methotrexate.

i found it really hard waiting... i bet you are too!!

but congrats on ttc again x

dawn37 · 07/11/2008 14:15

Thanx, its really hard when you have the symptoms but nothing happens isnt it, patience has never been my strong point! Still it's my husbands birthday today so going to go & celebrate in Cardiff & let my hair down for a change!

SuziBhoy · 07/11/2008 14:27

sounds good, hope you have a good one

bluesatinsash · 08/11/2008 08:44

dawn37 - how was your nigh tout for your DH bday? Are you feeling a bit tender today ?

Well I'm officially all bd out! DH hasn't had this much (ahem) attention since our heady early days

Now in 2WW territory and trying not to obsess and think about all the Christmas parties I have coming up where I would love to be pg and firing off fake excuses for not drinking

VillageMum - have now lurked on your Emmys page - what a great thread! Wish I had stumbled on it back in September. Feel (hope) I've moved on from needing to talk about my mc but may cross over when(if) it morphs into a pg after mc thread!

I'm off to the gym, trying to keep busy and healthy (only had one glass of wine last night x

dawn37 · 08/11/2008 11:55

Great night but feeling a mite delicate this morning, was great to just let go & have fun instead of thinking of babies all the time, I too am thinking about xmas parties & would love be pregnant again but will need AF to come 1st, wish it would hurry up as (.)(.) really sore again this morning!

SuziBhoy · 08/11/2008 11:58

well bluesatinsash, im also in 2ww teritory

ive not told anyone im trying again, and i will be going out for my birthday on the 2oth with friends and family, but at that point it will be too early to be looking for any bfp, and also dont want to drink for obvious reasons. do you think they will be fooled by the old im taking antibiotics, thats why im not drinking lol.

olivo · 08/11/2008 12:10

Suzi, I was the same with a night out last night - i'm unlikely to be pg yet but didnt want to drink; i drove and got away without any comments after they'd first asked! My other answer is to have one small drink and say that my dd aged 2 isnt sleeping well and any more will make me too hungover to deal with her! any use as excuses?
would love to hear more! can't do the antibiotics thing as i've genuinely had a couple of lots recently!

thegreatescape · 08/11/2008 13:25

villagemum - lol at your obama-ovulation post! I'm sure he's more of a fertility symbol than John McCain...

SuziBhoy · 08/11/2008 13:32

olivo, yeah my excuses are starting to wear thin atm lol.

this month ive stuck to staying in, dp loving it lol , but deffo need to go out for birthday, but the driving thing is one i will prob use.

ive used the, im up early 2moro, driving early 2moro, and just the plain old i just dont feel like drinking, febel excuses lol

thegreatescape · 08/11/2008 13:42

I am thinking of giving up booze as ttc. Did have best part of a bottle of fizz last night though and ended up with 2 bd sessions so maybe helped more than hindered..

SuziBhoy · 08/11/2008 13:50

thegreatescape, lol yeah the night i started ttc i also had some fizz aswell, you never know.... it does relax you i suppose

i never used to take as much care, but after an ectopic pg i think ive became rather obsessed.

olivo · 08/11/2008 21:28

Can anyone help? i'm on cd10 and just now have got a very very faint line on my opk - does this mean i am entering my few days before ovulation and the line will get stronger till ov? had some funny pains today and a bit of spotting.
dh is asleep so no bd tonight

oh, why oh why am i so obsessed?!?!

spats · 09/11/2008 09:28

not sure if all kits are the same. i used clearblue and always got faint line but when i ovulate it is really blue. This month the line came up as soon as i weed on it, even before the reference line. I guess as we have LH in us anyway it may be picking up low levels. keep trying for next few days, and not in morning. x

olivo · 09/11/2008 09:47

ooh, not in morning? is it too concentrated maybe? it wasn't my first morning wee (!) but i hadn't had anything to drink since last night.will try again tonight. thanks spats.

olivo · 09/11/2008 09:49

sorry, got my threads mixed up and that recent post doesnt make sense. did another one this morning that was very pink ( i'm using first respons) as getting very strong pains. not sure if they're ov pains or ibs pains though.

VillageMum · 09/11/2008 11:59

bluesatinsash, come over to Emmsysangels any time (we're on part 2 now!) We're planning to set up a ttc/pg thread after Christmas called 'the hibernation cave' -for worried post-mc pregnant women everywhere! They really are a great bunch of girls and I don't know what I would have done without them.

olivo, as far as I know there's always a bit of LH in the body but when it suddenly surges you'll get a definite and clear reading, as you have. I had the most incredible ov pains this cycle, and put them down to my body restarting itself after the mc - maybe the same thing happening for you after the pill? BTW they say not to test for LH surge early in the morning as for some reason it usually begins in the day/afternoon, but just follow the instructions on your OPK pack, I'd say - some tell you it's OK to try at any time so I guess those ones are sensitive enough to pick it up whenever.

Just one week to go till AF and then we can finally start ttc - it's felt like forever!
