Hi ladies!

Hope you find the new thread!!!

OP posts:
Georgie2900 · 14/12/2008 19:39

Well thats the thing how do you know, i had a blood test on day 21 on my first month of taking clomid all was fine they said... next period if not pregnant start 50mg clomid again on day 2, but my period came on day 21 which was extremely early so they had to wait for me to go to day 28, just to make sure that the bleed on day 21 wasnt an errossion...once day 28 came and went on the wednesaday last week they asked me to double my dose and start clomid straight away pretending it was day 2.... so im on clomid now... they have asked me to have a blood test after my next period in January however i have a blood test form i think i may go on day 21 this month which is around 30 dec... If i am truely honest, i dont actually know if im coming or going and i do feel that alot of these methods are trial and error... technically im half way through clomid and i feel that in all fairness ive wasted 3 months on it cause they dont know what my body is doing...

I feel like tearing my hair out... seriously!!!!

Hulababy · 14/12/2008 19:42

Am finding the side effects dreadful - the nausea and amnesia is bad enough, but the verging on depression is horrid. Have been off work for past 3 weeks or so as I am so fed up. And that is only with 50mg! I am on my last month now (day 4 of tablets on month 6). No longer execting anything to happen.

See my consultant again end of January. No idea on next step

lauralou1 · 14/12/2008 21:17

georgie

dont feel down its not your body thats the problem its the consultant i think they are rubbish and dont no what they are talking about

have you been online to see any more info on clomid ?

Georgie2900 · 15/12/2008 13:56

No... i havent seen anything quite like my query but my gp says that its ok and the consultant is doing the right thing..

But we'll soon see wont we, its my last day on clomid today and i have booked a blood test for day 21 on the 30th so we'll see if i have ovulated again...at least then i can get over one herdle.....

In the new year i am gonna work hard at shifting a stone and maybe try not to let this baby making over ruke my mind cause its hurting more than anything...

clairebear88 · 16/12/2008 13:42

Hi All

Hope all you girlies are doing ok
Hulababy - sorry to hear the clomid is making you so poorly and down. I am now off the tabs but remember that they made me feel premenstral most of the time.
I hope they sort you out with more tests to find out what the problem is.
My GP put me on clomid without all the tests first to find out what the problem was so I feel like I wasted 5 months on the bloody things. At least im now seeing a specialist and am having scans/bloods and xrays so hopefully will be an answer at the end of it all.

Georgie - you certainly sound like a special case so cant really advise but hope all works out. I didnt get monitored either so maybe it goes by area. Its definately a good idea to be monitored as you could waste 6 months and then you cant go on the tabs again for a certain amount of time.

Good luck all

pinkie08 · 16/12/2008 22:14

Hi all,

This is my last clomid month and then transferring to the fertility specialist.

We are really going for it but i do kinda think whats the point it wont work. but not to try is silly too and i couldnt face not ttc either.

Soooo tired from lack of sleep due to insomnia caused by daft pills. Will be nice next month to just catch up on some sleep before it starts again.

lauralou1 · 17/12/2008 14:38

hi pinkie

goodlck with the next step of your fertility treatment will keep everything crossed for you

did they say why the clomid didnt work ?

pinkie08 · 17/12/2008 16:56

Havent seen them yet to discuss it as this is my last month on it.

I hope to see the specialist in January

Bucky2008 · 20/12/2008 17:18

Hi everyone. I wondered if I could join you. I just started my first cycle of Clomid after 2.5years ttc and 2 MCs. I appear to ov regularly so I guess the fertility clinic is just trying to strengthen ov? We have had all the tests and we are told that we have unexplained infertility...but given the 2MC as least I know I can concieve I guess.

Anyway, I know very little about Clomid other than what Google has told me. The Dr told me there would be no side effects and that multiple births were unusual. Already from Googling and reading this thread there seem to be lots of contradictions .

Have you had lots of success on your thread? Does it seem worth it? I am keeping my fingers crossed. We'll see I guess.

Babydust to you all. xx

sarashy · 22/12/2008 19:18

hi bucky course you can join. the sucess stories seem to come in waves. Im on my second round of clomid, but unfortunatly have flu so the last thing i want to do right now is make babies. Plus been put on steroids for my asthma so not sure how they would affect a baby if i was to concieve.
Dh and i where trying for 2 yrs and have also had all the tests and told unexplained infertility like urself. frustrating isnt it.
I didnt have many side effects. the first month i had mild tummy ache and a few hot flushes but this month seem to have had nothing. Although i have been ill so not really be concentrating on it all.
Any questions im sure the girls on here will answer. think some of us are more knowledgable than the blooming specialists lol!
good luck
xx

MensaReject · 22/12/2008 20:11

Hi all, is it okay if i post here? I'm just about to take my first Clomid tablet (cd2) and am really nervous. We have to self inseminate as dp has some problems which will make it difficult to do it in the traditional way - we can do it at home tho which makes life easier. I'm scared about the side affects - when should i ovulate? I'm taking the tablets on days 2-6. I'm lucking forward to doing something about ttc but so nervous too!

Georgie2900 · 24/12/2008 19:17

Merry Christmas everyone.....................

Heres hoping 2009 brings us all some great results.....

lauralou1 · 04/01/2009 15:50

pinkie08 · 04/01/2009 16:04

lauralou

Ive been thinking the same thing.

I hope you had a good break.

My updated news is that i see the specialist on 12th Jan so not long and get results 2 weeks later.

Have managed to get gynae to give me another months supply of clomid so not twiddling thumbs while waiting for tests etc. Apparently it has no effect on their tests. NOt holdng out much hope for this month though.

Where are you up to ?

Georgie2900 · 05/01/2009 16:02

Oh my god i just got a BFP fuck!!!!! sorry oh my god oh my god..... can it be wrong...... shit.... i was the most negative person EVER!!!!!!

ITS GOTTA BE WRONG.......

Georgie2900 · 05/01/2009 17:16

Oh my god... where is everyone?????????????????????????????

Vix67 · 05/01/2009 20:39

Congratulations georgie !!!!! What CD are you on and how many tests have you done?? I dont thing PG tests can be wrong!!

Sorry i know im not usually on this thread but i watch it all the time as I am on clomid too!!
I am on my last month though and am losing hope fast!!

Did u do anything different this month, any tips???!!!!

Hulababy · 05/01/2009 20:40

Congratulations Georgie

Well, my 6 months are up and over. Didn't work. Not sure what comes next.

Vix67 · 05/01/2009 21:32

Hi hulababy i am on my 6th month now and am not very hopeful. I have my next hospital appointment on 3rd feb, so should find out what happens next then.

Have you got your next appointment?? If you dont mind me askin whay are you on clomid??
I wasnt ovulating properly!!
The clomid made me ov but unfortunately no BFP

Hulababy · 05/01/2009 22:08

My next app is early Feb - been rearranged twice; should have been next week.

I had Asherman's Syndrome follwoing a c section with my DD. This is adhesions on the uterus. Can cause infertility. Had 3 monir ops and 2 lots of high dose HRT and progesterone following each. Then Clomid to get things back on track a few months later. Been TTc over 4 years fnow for #2. DD took a while (15m, early mc then 15m again) but nothing like this.

Neither of us have any problems according to tests.

sarashy · 06/01/2009 09:25

hi all, Hope everybody had a good christmas and new yr. I on the other hand had the worst ever, ive been in hospital with my asthma. Had a massive attack, my only worry now is the effect all the steroids and other drugs on either the clomid or on the slim chance we have concieved the baby. Well im on cd 24 so we'll soon know one way or the other. It sure has given me something else to think about anyway. 2month on clomid not very hopeful it will work.

Congratulations Georgie, share all. what cycle? do anything different?

baby dust to all
x

pinkie08 · 06/01/2009 13:45

Sorry you not been well sarashy

Did you ask the docs about the interaction of asthma meds and the clomid.

Congrats Georgie

Georgie2900 · 06/01/2009 14:41

Hi Guys,

Well i suppose in some respect i did alot of things differently, 1st i doubled the dose, 2nd i followed the sperm meets egg rule, thing and had sex every other day from day 8..... I didnt do any ov tests but when i got to day 14 i had sex 3 days solid then missed a day and on day 19 i did it again...

Three tests ive done, just done another now, i had my period on the 1st December, and the other thing that was dofferent for me was i took the clomid a week later....

So if i write it down its completely different to my usual however this was my 3rd month....

I new i was as my boobs were sooooooo painful to touch and i came over queer in tescos where i had to sit down my poor little boy didnt know what was happening....

All i can say is i was really negative and it was the ladies on here that made me determined...

Thank you guys.... its still early days though and im trying to remain positive but until i get to the 8-12 week check i wont be satisfied...

lauralou1 · 06/01/2009 18:09

sarashy · 06/01/2009 18:39

Hi pinkie, i asked the drs but at the time i was a little too ill really, all they could say was if i didnt have them id die so benefit outway the risk. Bit of a wasted month on clomid really but unfortunatly i wasnt ill when i started this month lol!!

Georgie, i followed that plan last month unfortunatly didnt work for me. Not done it this month but will be trying it again next month if not got caught. I thought about taking double dose n then telling hospital i lost some for the final month? See my boobs always get sore around af time anyway so not a good indicator for me.
Will they not do a scan or something sooner, knowing how long you been trying?
