Sarashy - Just another suggestion as it really helped me with any possible side effects, take the tabs before you go to bed as I took them in the morning 1st month and was definately better 2nd month when took in the evening

clairebear - i saw that report. doesnt make it sound good does it. but there is a lot of sucess stories on this site. maybe it helps because it makes us relax a bit, knowing that something is being done.

im going to ask my consultant about it when i go but i dont think it is going to put me off taking them.

Hi all

Just wanted to say when you read the study about clomid, iui etc remember the results are for those with 'unexplained fertility'. I had clomid (for luteal ohase defect and ineffective ovulation) and am now 38 weeks pregnant. It took 6 months and is deffo not a miracle drug but if you have ov problems it can help so don't be dis-heartened by the report.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time to the site. I have been ttc for 18 months. I have a period every month but spot in between. I had a laparoscopy in April and they found mild endometriosis. I also hav had blood tests to detect ovulation and am reaching 20 and 28, normal level is 30 i think??
I am now on my first month of clomid and am getting stitches in the lower part of my tummy at both sides, is this normal??

Am excited because its my first month but dont want to get my hopes up either!!!!

Any advice would be much appreciated.

hi lauralou,

hope you feel better honey, gosh it's madness isn't it.
I haven't been checked up since when i started the clomid... i am left to my own devices. I still call my fertilty nurse so that is it. I haven't got a clue what is going on and i take all these pains and sick feeling with a smile and pray that my bundle of joy is coming....

oopsacocnut,
how long where you ttc? do you have pcos?
knowing that you got pg with the help of clomid round 6 is good to know. I have finished cycle 3 just waiting to test???

Hi Cam

we had been ttc 5 years when it all eventually happened - had some PCOS signs but not actually the cycsts also only had a 3 day LP and when ov did occur body very confused and AF arrived before hormones could show OV. All together very complicated situation but Clomid 100mg defo kicked things off 4 months at 100mg and Ov'd each month by took DH's swimmers time to figure out what to do when they found the egg!!!! Anymore questions just ask.

Hi everyone..can i join in??

Started my second round of clomid today,i have 2x50mg a day cycle days 2-6. It obviously didn't work last month!so am keeping everything crossed it works this time round. Had every test going and doc thinks i've got a problem ovulating as have very irregular cycles.

Me and dh have been trying for our first for about 15 months now. Last month whilst clomid didn't work my cycle length was only 32 days, which for me is v v good so keeping positive it's doing something!

I just can't stand the waiting every month will need to remortgage the house, how many pg tests i buy and waste!!am going to be strong and will not test untill cd33if af is no show!so 32 days to go!

Good luck to everyone x

i read the article today in the daily mail about clomid and iui. The article is a joke n dosent make snese. it says they had three groups,
one doing nothing, but the obvious
one on clomid
and one iui group
it then says after 6 months there where 101 live births.
Now call me silly here but i thought you where pg for NINE months. so to me that absolutly says research is B***s.
(Maybe not allowing for printing errors but you think they'd get it right in a big national paper.)

quick note for big tree- when i bought some preseed i got 25 free pg tests with it. go on access diagnostics have them cheaper than chemists if you doing them that often.

Hi
I am still hovering around, waiting for AF to arrive so i can start my 5th cycle, this will be my last cycle on Clomid, I am doing 150mg for this last cycle, and feeling a but apprehensive, apparently it is rare for 150mg to be prescribed, has anyone else been on 150mg with any joy????

hi lauralou

Thanks for the kind words....just holding my breath now.

However this time I am making sure I am getting the attention I should have with a PCOS pregnancy!

I am booked in with an early appointment with the midwife to get an early scan booked in, and my GP has referred me to the Endocrine disorders in pregnancy clinic at the hospital where they monitor pregnant ladies with any endo disorders like PCOS!

So, hopefully, I will all set up this time round.

There are good signs though compared to the feb pregnancy and that is that I have caught a KILLER COLD ( immune system goes down when baby is getting settled in ) - so good sign! AND i have gone off tea totally, again this happened when i was carrying my DS. But it didn't happen in feb....so makes me think feb was a doomed one from the start!

I am slowly letting myself feel positive and enthusiastic about this one...am hoping!

lauralou where are you?

Dungungirl i did a test last nite and it was negative
Not sure if i told you, but with 3 cycles to go i am losing hope!!!! I called the nurse and asked her to doubled the dose of clomid so instead of 50mg i will take 100!! My nurse said she will have to scan me and keep a close eye on me as the risk is twins and stuff.
I knew aunt flo is on her way because i went out saturday nite and i was swaeting so bad it looked like i had a shower!!! my hair was wet and even though i went outside in the cool but it never helped....

We will see what happens now.. I rememnber when i had the ivf they increase my drugs and i did have 4 good eggs 3 got fertlized so i know it will be good... I have to remain faithfully now i really do.

Hi, I am new to this site, but would really appreciate your advise.........
I have been ttc for 1.5 years now and according to tests I have had my progesterone level is low and I am not ovulating at all or infrequently. A scan showed my ovaries are OK with follicles on - so something is happening I guess !?!?
I have been prescribed low dose of clomid, and have only taken 1 cycle so far. When is the best time to 'try' ?? When are you supposed to ovulate after you have finished 5 days of clomid tablets ?
Thank you for any help you offer xx

hi hopeitwillhappen,
it depends on your cycle what times you ovulate, the nurse told me to try every other day and my days are between day 10-16 from what i can recall.
From the the nurse told me every other day as it give the swimmers time replenish!!!

Hi Cam75, thanks for replying :-)
My cycles in past have varied between 38 and 37 days, so what days of my cycle does this mean I might ovulate on ?
Apparantly I haven't been ovulating, but now I am on Clomid, I hope I will, so what days do you think I should try on ??
Hopefully on Clomid my cycles will become less irregular which may make it easier (hmm)

hopeitwillhappen,

i am not sure when you ovualate? there is web site that will work it out for you.
Clomid will make you ovulate chick.
Have you any side effects?
