Hey Pinkie,

Shoulder pain went and so did pain in the tummy thankgod. V V tired today the clomid is realy having a bad effect this month i hope it passes.

Vics,

i do hope the mood swings are part of the clomid as been having them too. i'm sure it does say it in the leaflet.

Want to sleep, am at work he he

pinkie08 · 23/10/2008 11:48

Ray Thats good Re pain in shoulder.

I seem to have tired days and normal active days too and am sure mood swings is part of the whole thing as everyone seems to have them. .

maybe we are just giving in to really bad PMT which we would normally not do.

Hey Pinkie.

I'm actually wondering if i have a virus or somthing am so tired and feel abit dizzy. how wonderful.

Was just wondering if anyone has heard of Hostile CM and how would you get tested for it, the thing is hubby has good sperm count 50Million per mil which doc says is a lot and i am fine so i realy can understand why its not happening. please help guys if you can. its something that i have thought of for a while and abit worried about it.

Phoenix · 23/10/2008 12:13

Hopefully i'll be joining you ladies soon

I've been to the docs this morning and got a referral to the fertility clinic. I've got PCOS and had clomid to conceive ds (2.8yo) and was pg on 4th cycle. Just to wait 4-6 weeks for an appointment first.

pinkie08 · 23/10/2008 12:45

Hi Ray

I think hostile CM is very rare without the clomid and think its one of the rarest side effects of clomid.

You have to bare in mind even with the odd few that do suffer with hostile CM clomid is a highly succesful drug. You will get there we all will.

Have a look at product called preseed. Its meant to be used as lubricant but also has same properties as natural CM and think is meant to help those swimmers swim

Baby dust to you

ray81 · 23/10/2008 13:28

Hi Pinkie,

I have been looking at preseed and wondering whether to try it. Think that would be the decider as understand it helps the sperm to mobilise and live longer if it was to work surely that would be an indication that there was something wrong with my CM.

Getting realy Hot flushes this month much worse then last month so am hoping that it is a sign that the clomid is doing its job well.

Heres hoping ay.

pinkie08 · 23/10/2008 17:01

Hi Ray

I had much worse flushes this month, been requlated by the acupuncture and not too bad at all now still abit but nothing like before.

To be honest i think the CM thing is a new vibe around conception i dont remember it even being in discussion when i had dd (8 yrs ago) and i was suffering with recurrent miscarriages so got tested for loads of different things.

I think the whole CM thing is being blown out of proportion just relax itll be fine but def. think the preseed helps loads of people have used it and got the BFP and to be honest i dont care what i use to get it so long as we get it and it sticks of course

Lots of Baby dust

ray81 · 24/10/2008 13:07

Hi Pinkie,

No i dont ever remember it being a problem when i had my DD either (7yrs ago) but have heard it being mentioned a few times in the last few months.

The thing i was thinking is that DH has high sperm count and there is nothing wrong with me have had all the tests and still nearly 5 yrs later and nothing is working. I'm going to give the clomid its 6 months and if nothing will go to the docs and see if i can get tested for it just to be sure. better to rule everything out i suppose.

The hot flushes are realy bad this month happening about every half an hr which is awful i'm normally such a cold person so takes alot of getting used to.

How you getting on where are you in cycle now ? did you do the sperm meets egg plan ? how was it shattering !!!! i'm on CD 10 today so start the OPKs going to find it very hard not to pee for 4 hrs but they say to do it afternoon as the LH surge normally happens during the day but what a nitemare.
I know im not OV at the mo thought as i get pain when i do and so far no pain. Pobably be on CD17 again so have a while to wait.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 24/10/2008 13:49

"The thing i was thinking is that DH has high sperm count and there is nothing wrong with me have had all the tests and still nearly 5 yrs later and nothing is working"

Why were you prescribed clomid?. I ask this as this is often given to women with underlying ovulatory problems. Also it goes without saying as well that monitoring should be done as without monitoring you have no way of knowing whether its working or not.

What tests have you both had done to date?.
Some tests can often be missed out besides which any test result done over six months ago should be discounted. It may be that you have both not had all the necessary tests done at all. Sometimes as well people are given the "diagnosis" (I use quote marks as this is not a diagnosis at all) of unexplained subfertility simply because both parties have not been adequately investigated.

Will separately put up a list of tests that are commonly missed. These can often give a cause for the hidden problem.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 24/10/2008 13:51

The most common tests that tend to be omitted are:-

Adequate x-rays of the uterus which may show abnormalities not otherwise seen at laparoscopy.

Hysteroscopy - telescope inspection of the inside of the uterus which may occasionally show abnormalities not seen otherwise

Repeated sperm counts over several weeks and months to make sure there is no subtle abnormality

Testing the sperm in special media such as swim up testsvelocity testing. However, when they are done, they often uncover a hidden cause for the suppposed unexplained problem

Thorough hormone tests to detect abnormalities of male hormone or early falls in progesterone

Scanning of the ovaries to see if follicles really are developing and there are no sign of polycystic ovaries.

pinkie08 · 24/10/2008 17:02

HI Ray

I am on Cd15 today and the OPK went +ive yesterday afternoon so am following the sperm meets egg plan and am just into the 3days bit then day off then once again.

Its a funny old world i said this the other day. We wait for one stick to go +ive only to need to wait another 2weeks in the hope of another.

I did find the 4 hour thing hard but i timed it so after lunch went and then didnt have another drink til after opk test.

I got worried too but remember your blood tests for day 21 progesterone came back good so theres no reason for it not to be working.

We both need to stay positive for each other and hopefully we will get a BFP together.

sarashy · 24/10/2008 21:21

wuhooooo!!!!!! how glad am i that i asked for a second opinion. Finally i win my battle to be allowed to try clomid. and alsofind that at this other hospital the ivf/iui waiting list is only 18months and not the 3 yrs at the other one, yeah!!! not that im hoping we get that far. i dont have pcos but am hoping it still has some effect as some research ive done says it should help.

hey ray dont think we've spoken before but ive tried preseed and im affraid to say it did nothing for us. but hey everyones different.

omg im am so happy someone is finally taking me seriously and doing something about it. The only way i will be happy is to get my bfp in the next few months.

nandos · 25/10/2008 11:59

hi ladies..

pinkie08 · 26/10/2008 18:14

Hi nandos

Well i didnt find the second cycle as bad as the first i just had hot flushes but they died down too.

I am now into my 2ww on my second cycle.

Dont you find that the months grag on.

Lots of baby dust to you

ray81 · 27/10/2008 10:04

Hi Attila,

Me and DH have had all the tests you mentioned and nothing is abnormal at all, its driving me mad i'm almost convinced that there is something thats causing this "unexplained infertility" but they just cant find it and are just fobbing me off. I feel with DD so easily and was one of those smug people that thought it would happen like that the first time Oh how wrong i was.

Pinkie,

Good luck with the 2ww, i know its hard but try not to do your own head in ( wish i could take my own advise) I am realy keeping my fingers crossed for you i so hope this is your month.
I'm on CD 13 and no +ive yet on the opks but sure its not due until CD17 anyway thats what it was last month, have been Bding every other day and will follow the plan when i do get +ive which should be fri, it will work out quite well as DD is away this weekend and we will have lots of time for eachother. i was thinking over the 3 days may try different times in the day, maybe morning the first day, afternoon the second and evening the third, do you think it would hurt to Bd more than once a day? you never know i may find the energy from somewhere. he he. If it doesnt work this month think i may just go alittle crazy!! there is a hting called Fertility Aid and my cousin who was trying for 8 yrs brought it and after 3 months she was PG, she said that was the only thing she did differently so i may give it a try if it doenst happen this month you never know may be that one thing that helps.

Sarashy, good luck with the clomid i hope it works for you, word of warning the hot flushes take abit of getting used to and i have suffered from realy bad headaches in fact have got migrane today, just managing to cope with it luckily dosed up with painkillers and hoping it will pass soon. Just be prepared for some side effects. The only way i get through it is to think at least the side effects show its working!!!

Nandos, welcome back for the second month, so sorry it didnt work for you. fingers crossed it will work this month. Look up the Sperm meets egg plan seems to have a bit of science to it and makes you feel like you are doing something +ive.

Well i'm off heads bad so can look at screen anylonger. Will log back it later to catch up. Baby dust to you all.

hi lauralou and everyone else who knows me........ i have been busy with work and everything else.
i have finished my cycle 5 of clomid just having lots of sex i feel like a machine so hopefully should get a result soon. I have been to see my consultant last wednesday to talk of options what will happen next if no luck on clomid, i have a further appoinment in the new year. He suggestes ivf which i have been there before and it neva worked plus i have not go the funds to do it. ICI too? not sure about how that works?
I suggested to him ovarian drilling if my problem is ovualating then it should be ok? i would rather try that then if all esle fails do the ivf or something..
I am glad the hot flushes are over it has been really bad.
Still got one more cycle to go if all else fails. Oh and he also said i need to lose more weight?? i am on the metformin which is helping and i am glad he says i need to get do to 84kilos!!! hello xmas sweets and chocolates?? i am going to try but at the same time i am not going to kill myself over it.

how is ure bump lauralou? everything ok with you?

peju25 · 27/10/2008 16:15

clairebear88 · 27/10/2008 21:19

ray81 · 28/10/2008 08:37

Hi Guys,

Got my +ive on the OPKs this morn so alittle earlier than i was expecting so means Ov tomorrow or thurs am going to BD everyday 2 times a day. We did this morn!!! shattered now can wait to see how i feel after 5 days of this !!!!

Please Please please let this work i so need it to i dont think can cope with this much longer.

pinkie08 · 28/10/2008 09:32

Hi Ray

Isnt it great when you get that +ive. I felt really positive about the clomid when that happened. Even though last months blood test showed that it was its nice to see it.

( and hopefully following the "plan" will really help us)

ray81 · 28/10/2008 11:14

Hey Pinkie,

It is quite exciing when you get that +ive, just a shame we cant have another at the end of the month gauranteed too. watch this space ay!!!!

I'm feeling +ive about the clomid but not about falling, i have this ' its not ever going to happen' thing in my head at the mo, i think perhaps i'm trying to set myself up for the fall that will come at the end of the month or at least i'm convinced will come.
I have DD and cant ever imagine not being pg ever again but that seems more likely the longer this goes on i really dont want to get to 5 years i think i may have to give up if i get to that point and just accept i'm not meant to have anymore.

Oh arent i a happy bunny today !!! dont know where this negativity has come from just thinking on the balance of probablities if it hasnt happened now surely it never will. Must pull myself together maybe a slap around the face will do it he he

Vics32 · 28/10/2008 11:42

Hi everybody,

Scan yesterday showed clomid has worked on first month. I was quite surprised! It will make the terrible mood swings and tummy cramps a bit easier to bare knowing that it does something.

Ray - I understand where you are coming from, sometimes it feels like it will never happen, but our time will come I am sure of it. How old is your DD? My DS is 11 next week! How time flies.

CBear - Any sign yet? Am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Peju - I am just bracing myself for the disappointment this month. It somehow seems more difficult knowing that Clomid has worked and if still no little blue line, I know I will find that so hard.

Positive thoughts to everyone!

ray81 · 28/10/2008 12:09

Hi Vic,

Thats great newa that the clomid has worked, where are you in your cycle now? keeping fingers crossed for you.

I agree with you thats its more difficult to cope with AF arriving after you know that you have OV, it makes you think 'why not me'.

My DD is 6 nearly 7 and we have been trying since she was 2, i wanted to have children close together, not going to happen now. One of my big things is that i dont want her to be an OC, i come from a big family am 1 of 9 and my mum was the same i couldnt imagine not having Brothers and sisters around me and i dont want DD to have that, although my youngest sister is 8 so close in age to DD they are very much like sisters so at leaast she will have her if i never fall.
How about you how long have you been trying?

lauralou1 · 28/10/2008 12:43

hi cam

it is so good to hear from i was a bit worried

i was wondering have you been ovulating the last 5 months on clomid ? i cant remember

if so do you think it could be your partners sperm ?

i am ok hunni am 13 weeks now but still doesnt feel real as cant feel anything except sickness and midwife said i am really anemic so that would be why im so tired but they cant give me iron till am 16 weeks its such a pain

so how is work and everything at home you coping alright

take care see you soon am praying for you still love lauralouxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
