congratulations to ladymac

Bacl from holiday last night! Off to collect rabbits now...

Oh and I have an appointment through already for the fertility doc... 20th Aug! OMG I am impressed it has come through so soon but DH hasn't done his test yet and I haven't had my 21 day test done yet as I missed it this month due to being away...

Be back later

rowingboat · 10/08/2008 15:37

Hope you had a good holiday Cece! Was it lovely?
Is the 21 day test at the GP? The stoopid sperm sample had to be handed in at the fertility clinic before 9am or something - that was fun!
Gem, I know what you mean about the Clomid. Will definitely start temping this month, just in case there's something other than the blocked tube. How on earth is this taking so long!!! I worked out we are on cycle 12 or 13, which excludes cycles when DP was away, or was ill or I was ill around the fertile period.
What a slog!
Oh well, I'll be all perky again by the start of next cycle.

cece · 10/08/2008 16:22

Hi rowing boat - glad to see they are sorting out your appointment although a bit of a wait..

Yes 21 day test have to go to GP surgery for. DH's test the sample has to be taken to the pathology lab at local hospital within 30 mins and has to be kept at body temp

He is refusing to take it to the hospital himslef so looks like I will be having a little pot stuck down my clevage, find a parking space, drag the kids out of the car, find the lab sort of trip tomorrow.

The holiday was lpvely although Sapin in the middle of a heatwave so a little on the hot side.

Looks like af has turned up 3 days early this month though so feeling a bit fed up and nauseous...

marti65 · 11/08/2008 01:17

Hi All

I've just discovered this website and think Ive just found something which will probably save my sanity!!

I'm fab 42 & conceived my ds a month after my 40th by ICSI..am trying like so many to conceive again but nothing happening naturally..so will have to go down artifical route again which as you know is not really something to look forward too...the 4 stone I need to lose doesn't help either!!!!...am bit of a mess as u can tell but am looking forward to becoming part of the group and sharing stories...I know I should be much happier with my lot but can't snap out of it at mo.....pig of husband isn't helping either

rowingboat · 11/08/2008 10:01

Cece is that Spain mis-typed or an obscure French town?
Poor you, doing the sperm run. I seem to remember something quite, as inconvenient, but which involved racing around during the peak rush hour.
We are going to a local seaside resort at the end of August - with my mum and dad and single brother. As long as it has a beach DS doesn't care. We don't see that much of my brother so we started this holiday together thing last year to get him to visit.
It's day 28 for me, so I'm a bit ratty with poor DS and have very sore boobs. My cycle is a bit off a the moment and was 29 and 30 days the past two cycles, so I'm not expecting AF until tomorrow or the following day. Don't think I'm pg.
Marti hi, it is an emotional journey isn't it. Everyone is very supportive on here, some of us have been here for a while and some graduate quickly, but pop back on to say hello.
When do you think you will be going for IVF (if that's what you are doing)? There's a thread about losing two weight over here, that a few people have joined
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1378/574669
I've just started a running program called couch to 5k, first day yesterday. It's a very easy start walk jog slowly for 60 secs then walk for 90 secs for 20 minutes. Do you fancy anything like that?

heron22 · 11/08/2008 12:32

hi rowing, how are you? fingers crossed for you this cycle

crikey, a running program! i am impressed

cece · 11/08/2008 13:00

LOL yes it was Spain! Had severe lack of sleep yesterday! AF arrived for sure now although with my usual pg symptom of sore norks. (a very specific feeling, not like normal pre af). So dispite the blood have tested and got a bfn. All very odd.

Good news - I phoned for my FSH blood test results today and they are 3. Which is apparently good.

rowingboat · 11/08/2008 23:28

Hi Heron, I'm up late, and no sign of AF, but plan to run tomorrow (well walk and run).
Cece that's great news, very good FSH - mine was 7.5 and they thought that was good.
I am very hopeful for you.

cece · 11/08/2008 23:31

rowingboat - are you going to test tomorrow? - I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Doing the sperm run in the morning. DH got tied up with work so missed the midday deadline for the lab today! I am very impressed that you are taking up running...

rowingboat · 12/08/2008 00:19

ZZZ I must go to beeeed!
I don't even have any pg tests. LOL!
I just don't think anything is happening at all, but I suppose I could be (very) surprised, but don't knit me any bootees.
Have fun on the sperm run, hope the car park fees aren't too high.

heron22 · 12/08/2008 08:55

hi cece, FSH of 3 is fabulous! mine was 12.6!

i am keeping fingers crossed for you rowing!

cece · 12/08/2008 09:44

Sperm run mow done

Bless him Parking was £2 and I was literally there 4 mins as the path reception is by the door . Still I made a retired couple very happy when I gave them my ticket

rowingboat · 12/08/2008 09:51

Well done Cece. It is a bit icky when you lovely OH hands you the receptacle IMO.
My DP kept making jokes about how romantic it al was etc...
We only handed our sample in a few days before going for our appointment, but they had the results back when we went to see the consultant, so it couldn't have taken long.
Lucky DP only had to give one sample as well, although they had asked for two. ['phew' says DP]

herbaceous · 12/08/2008 10:14

My dear DP had to do this. I had to wait downstairs, silently, but yet not sending 'hurry up' vibes, until he came down, grim-faced, saying 'get in the car'. He carried his special vial in an inside pocket while I sped to the hospital. Thank the lord all was fine - I don't think he'd do it again.

Rowingboat - my FSH was 2.3! Too low, said consultant. Whatever that means. They're good at not really explaining their portents of doom, aren't they.

rowingboat · 12/08/2008 10:18

Really Herb, I didn't think it could be too low. Shows how much I know. I know Clomid and letrozole raise FSH and LH by suppressing or pretending to suppress oestrogen. Do you think that would help?

herbaceous · 12/08/2008 11:04

She said 'a bit low, could be due to stress'. But I'm definitely ovulating, and my womb lining is good, and I don't appear to have any blockages, so don't really know what the problem is...

V annoying, actually. Saw this private woman on 15 July, paid through nose for blood tests (for which they demanded payment at the time), and STILL haven't had the results in writing, or her analysis of them. Have emailed numerous times, and she just says 'gosh, sorry, haven't you got those yet?'

She told me I had ureaplasma, and that I should get antibiotics for it. I asked her for a prescription. Nada.

rhetorician · 12/08/2008 11:55

HI all. Just back from roadtrip in the rain with my mother...and now have to get down to action in earnest. Have bad feeling that I might have missed the boat due to maternal visitation - I ovulated on CD13 last month, when it's usually CD 14 or 15...it's all very hit and miss unless you can actually get on with the deed fairly constantly. But life isn't like that, is it? So fingers crossed for me and all you ladies...

rowingboat · 13/08/2008 09:17

Hi Rhetorician, welcome back, try not to worry about missing the boat, that way madness lies. It's a killer, but you can't do much about it. If only you knew for sure, then you could have a huge picnic of dolcelatte, pate and red wine and not care a jot.
Herb your private consultant (or whatever she is) sounds appalling. How careless, not to send you the details you have paid for, she should have been sending copies by recorded delivery after you phoned. Grr! I'm going round their to tell her to polish up her act. She will probably try to wriggle out of it by telling me she doesn't have any patients called Herbaceous, typical!

Juicylucytoo · 13/08/2008 09:51

Think I'm Oving today. DH in middle of north sea.

Boo buggar hiss

herbaceous · 13/08/2008 10:12

Indeed, boaty, it's highly shit. I sent a stinking email to her yesterday, saying I was v disappointed, it's a stressful time and this isn't helping, and I'm sure she'd understand if I didn't pay her invoice until I got the results.

When I got home, there was the letter. Oops.

I had acupuncture last night with my lovely lady, and she said my 'pulses felt pregnant'. Damn her eyes. Now I'm going to be on tenterhooks, despite trying to believe it's a crock of shite, until AF comes next Monday, on first day of new job, and I'll cry in the lav.

Any sign of your 'monthly visitor ?

rowingboat · 13/08/2008 10:35

JL2 - bummer! Oh well, think you deserve a nice pot of Ben and Jerry's to cheer you up.
Herb - that's funny - letter! Still she did deserve it, but bit cringe as well.
OMG about the pregnant pulses. That sounds very promising, now forget all about it!
No my monthly blessing isn't here yet. It's day 30 which was the length of last cycle, so not particularly excited.
I don't even want to buy pg tests, in case I jinx everything.

cece · 13/08/2008 10:49

rowing boat - you are being very good I would have tested by now!

rowingboat · 13/08/2008 12:02

I just don't think there's any reason to test - being completely uncharmed by the whole process now. Cynical?!

Juicylucytoo · 13/08/2008 15:55

I was thinking a couple of glasses of wine rowingboat

Fingers crossed for you

rhetorician · 13/08/2008 23:29

rowing - yes, madness is best avoided in this situation, isn't it? And I'm with you on the pate and red wine, especially as I am going to France at the end of next week, to try to avoid the worst effects of the end of the TWW...it would be nice to know that I could indulge, but I guess I'll have to be good But it will be OK if it's in a good cause...Sorry about absence of your DH JL2; herb hope pin lady is right, tho 'pregnant pulses' conjures odd visions of gravid lentils. I think I'm overtired and should go to bed, imagination doing overtime.
