Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Now BSL and Saz, you are just making me feel guilty!!! We had a box of Celebrations from the last day of term (have been trying to hint to my class all year to get me WINE and not CHOCOLATE!!!) and I just couldn't resist . I did go to the gym this morning, if that compensates?
Go on girls.... EAT THE CHOCOLATE!!! X

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 16:32

Hehe!! I purposely don't have chocolate in the house...so I have to stay good.

To be honest, I'm not a big chocolate fan and don't really have a sweet tooth (I'm more of a carbs addict)...but when I can't have something, that's when I want it!!

But I do like celebrations!! yum yum!!

saz007 · 28/07/2008 16:35

BSL I love Dusk til Dawn - and not just for Mr Clooney altho it helps!!

Thinking about going to see the Batman film with DH on Wednesday and go out for dinner, make a night of it.

saz007 · 28/07/2008 16:40

BSL I'm more of a crips than chocolate girl, but I can never say no to a Malteser (or 2!). The ones in Celebrations are the best!!

Bonifacio · 28/07/2008 16:59

Mmm Celebrations, yum I never ever eat chocolate here, its awful like that really shite american chocolate. Instead I pig out on donuts and Hagen Daaz mmmm. And when I go back to England its Fish and Chips, but only when I go up to my parents (we live down south in England now, and Fish and Chips down south are shite!!)

BSL The film was actually really good, a lovely chick flick, perfect to sit with a curry and a G&T on my own whie DP is out with his boss. I know what you mean about not BD'ing at the PIL's, when we go to UK we have to stay with them and to be honest they probably wouldn't hear a thing if I stopped shushing DP

Eth you have now put me to shame!! Gym in the morning!! WOW I could never go in the morning!!! And never seen ionto the wild is it any good, I thought it was a Disney Pixar film but if its scary then surely not!

FlirtyThirty · 28/07/2008 17:25

Hi All...
I've been doing some mega clerning up at home...we're doing some DIY and I needed to empty one of our bedrooms..I'm melting - it's SO hot!!!

Anyway...thought I'd sit down for 5mins and see how you all are...

BSL - I'm on CD8 today...and reckon I OV around CD11-12. Am thinking of starting BD fest tomorrow...though this heat is not going to put DH in the mood for closer contact! I tested with OV sticks today - nothing...which I already knew but tested anyway. You're very good to have started already. When do you think you OV?
9Oh, and completely understand the escorting to toilet...I'd be the same!)

Bonifacio - glad you're having a nice day. Are you commencing BD Fest tonight or tomorrow...or are you like BSL and getting a head start by starting yesterday?! I'm determined that one of us 'Cycle Buddies' gets a BFP!

Hi to everyone else...best get back to my clearing...

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 17:33

I'm a crisp fiend too!! Although I do love dark chocolate! I love love love after eights and benficts bittermints!!

A couple of years ago I stopped drinking for about 5 months...decision taken the morning after a scary night out!! So instead of buying a bottle of wine, I used to buy benedicts bitter mints as a treat in my weekly shopping!

B - I totally know what you mean about choc over there! I have family in Singapore and always avoid the chocolate when I visit! It's probably one of the only things I avoid, cos everything else is lovely and super cheap!!

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 17:39

Flirty - Today is CD 7 for me, so I started the every other day BDing yesterday. OV stickwise, I think I'll start testing on Wednesday. I want to start with a negative so I can monitor what's happening. I had a big temp rise today...which I thought was odd, but probably just a blip. I think I'll OV some time over the weekend, so am going for an everyday BD from Thursday to Monday, but will also see what the OV sticks say! Poor DH!! I sound like I'm on a military operation!! xx

heverhoney1 · 28/07/2008 18:12

Hi all. FF says I am due to OV tomorrow if I have a regular cycle but I tried my first ov stick today and nowt but a Very Very faint line they were first response sticks. Does anyone have any experience with these - does the VERY faint line mean I am close or is that just the base state??

crunchynutter · 28/07/2008 19:21

BSL i am sending a nudge nudge to your DH!! PMSL that poor guy must have some stamina!!

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 21:32

OOooh Summerbird, the hotel looks lovely and you're nice and near the spa!!

LOL about my DH's stamina...he's younger than me by 4 years, and is quite happy about the frequent BDing! I think he thinks Christmas has come early at the moment. It wasn't like that last cycle, when he was ill though.

Heverhoney - sorry, I haven't tried my sticks yet, so don't know what they look like for a positive...

Crunchy - the bedroom sounds lovely!! and hopefully now you and your DH will want to spend lots of time in there!!

summerbird · 28/07/2008 21:35

BSL i have a toyboy too, my DH is 6 years younger and he too reckons all his xmases and birthdays have come at once!!

DawnAS · 28/07/2008 21:36

Hey all,

Just checking in.

Well, things are still quite odd. No bleeding for most of the day and then some more dark red spotting this evening. Still no pain at all and no need to use anything but a panty liner. Surely there would be something more than this if I was having an MC? But I really don't know how it works or how long it takes. But it's been about 32 hours now since it started.

Going to bed now, not that I'll sleep but I will speak to the doc again in the morning and go to the EPU for a scan.

Hope all you ladies are Ok.

xxx

heverhoney1 · 28/07/2008 21:37

BSL - No probs I am just SOOOOOOO impatient. I know the likelyhood of me oving at the time for a 28 day cycle is next to none but I was kinda hopeing

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 21:40

Hey Dawn,

Good to hear from you!! I think if you were having a MC, you'd be getting cramps and bleeding like a normal AF (probably heavier).

I am sure you and Pip are fine...hope tomorrow's appointment goes well!!

BSL xx

summerbird · 28/07/2008 21:55

dawn i agree with BSL i think you would be feeling it to be honest.

Am sending some good vibes to you for tomorrow //////////

heverhoney1 · 28/07/2008 22:59

Dawn- someone quoted on another thread that 80% of women get some bleeding in early pg so I hope that is a good sign. Will be thinking of you xxxxxxxxxxxx

eth37 · 29/07/2008 00:03

Hello laydeez!!

Lovely to hear from you all. Well, just got back from a friend's and have decided her fiance is actually v nice, despite being initially sceptical...

Crunchy are you a teacher too? I have had year 2 this year ( and got year 2 next year, although am KS1 co-ordinator next year and a little bit scared) although previously had KS2. Are you primary or secondary?

Ladies, am v glad it is not just me that is not able to resist nice food (( My lovely friend served us salmon and salad, and DH said to me on the way home, in quite, slightly guilty voice 'are you hungry??' and I was like 'YES!!!!' so we just had a sandwich... God am such a pig!! But promise I will hit the gym tomorrow!!

I LOVE MN - so nice to be able to chat to people going through the same thing... wine-fuelled hug!!!]]]]

Bonifacio · 29/07/2008 05:23

Well i've just for the first time looked at Fertility Friend, I have no idea why I was ifnoring all your ladies advice about using it Asn its actually really good, I like that you can add details about your own cycle and there's a journal and a bit to record your weight how cool!!

Crunchy The bedroom sounds lovely and just imagine this time next year you might have to make a resevetion for 3!!!

bluestarlavender · 29/07/2008 08:01

Morning everyone,

PMSL at that extra sandwich, Eth!!

Dawn - still sending lots of hugs, hun! Hope today goes well!

Bonifacio - I'm glad you like FF!! I've been using it, but am a bit confused. Does anyone know how to see the potential fertile days. I got fertile days predicted when I first joined, but they then disappeared when I started taking my temp and I can't find them again...

I'm off to look at FF again...I must be doing something wrong [mutter mutter]...

BSL x

Kalikaroo · 29/07/2008 08:35

Morning. How's everyone today? It's completely roasting here and I'm looking at bit beetroot-ish. (that's supposed to be an emoticon of my face! )

Can I ask for some advice??? :

We're off to the UK on Thursday to see my family for a week. Still trying to decide whether to tell my parents about me being pg or not. I don't see my family very often (due to living abroad) and if we weren't going to the UK I would wait until 3 months and tell them over the phone. But since I'll actually be seeing them face-to-face, is it better just to tell them while I'm there? It's still really early days with the pg (about 5 weeks).

If my parents know so early, is it unfair not to tell DH's parents too? That would definitely have to be done by phone since DH is Greek (and they live in Greece )

What do you all think??

FlirtyThirty · 29/07/2008 08:36

Dawn - You were my waking thought...how are you, chica? I think it's a good sign that you have no pain and so little blood...and really very little 'fresh' blood. I'm glad you have been offered a trip to the EPU - the 'not knowing' is killing - physically and emotionally totally draining. I'm hoping it all goes perfectly for you and you get to see Pip's little heartbeat for the first time.

Bonifacio - Don't worry too much about FF and when it says to start BDing. Mine too said start yesterday, but I'm fairly sure that today/tomorrow would have been fine.

eth - hubby and I have come home from 'dinner parties' before and raided the fridge. I love to cook and good food is really important to us. I hate being served dull, tasteless or badly cooked stuff...or not enough! Your sandwich story is amusing though!

Heverhoney - a faint line is not OVing, I'm afriad. The line needs to be as dark as the reference line. The sticks will be more accurate than FF, as the web is basing it's advice on 'the norm' and everyone is different. Some people OV early and others late. It is not a perfect science...but rather a presumption/guide. If you want cheaper OV sticks, I'd recommend this company and product (fast, cheap and have worked for me...and I also have First Response ones): www.babymad.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=14&Itemid=26

BSL - Happy CD9! How's the BD Fest in your house going?! And have you worked out FF yet...shout if you need help...

Love Fest 08- So last night I went to bed before DH....this rarely happens. I was knackered though and he was watching TV, so I crawled to bed with my book and dropped off to sleep thinking no BDing tonight...will start Love Fest tomorrow. However...DH had other plans later on...so...we're in the game! (Though personally, I think we're a little early as I don't think I'm going to OV until about Friday...) Am going to aim for a repeat performance Wednesday, Friday, Saturday...
