So I'm pretty much put this month, giving up all hope its happening this month. I know August is still a week away but thought I'd start a thread for the August TTCers.
How's everyone doing?

I thought maybe the same but I can’t see anything

You can see the dye channel on most of these if you look, if it’s not a pink line then I wouldn’t stress about shadows

I’m going to guess dye then unfortunately. Have the one step tests arrived? They might be more sensitive

No annoyingly they were delayed so this one was a Tesco own brand test

Just joining from another thread that went quiet. I’ve been ttc for baby no.3 for 7 months now. This is actually our 3rd time trying over 6 years and our youngest is now 8. I got a bfn today when my period was due so I’m out and feeling very down about it this month.
Grateful to have a place to write it down with others that will understand the disappointment.
wishing everyone waiting the best of luck.

I have been going for many months now too (about 11!) so can definitely relate to the disappointment, all the best for your next cycle 🩷

A BFN for me this afternoon, going to try again first thing tomorrow and if same again get in the mindset for trying again next month. So lovely to read people getting their positives here and sending you lots of love for hopefully a happy and healthy May baby next year! ❤️

Selyak · 24/08/2026 22:02

Spotting has stopped and now have uncomfortable vaginal cramps which I never get. Don’t think I’ve ever had them before

I like your mindset of trying again. Although I am similar and still feel hopeful, I got really sad at the end of last cycle. Then I spent one day on accepting the sadness and digesting it. The next day I felt normal and got in the mindset of trying again. There is a reason why I don’t always check the current ttc thread. Although I feel calmer and calmer whenever I hear a pregnancy announcement etc., there is still a tiny piece of me who is feeling low. I like to update the ttc journey once or twice in the current ttc thread with a few sentences and wish everyone good luck then I get on with my life. I don’t know why I chose to reply to you however I wish you good luck tomorrow or for your next cycle. There is always hope when AF is not yet here. Also new cycle, new hope!

LucyCL · 25/08/2026 02:46

Today is 1/2 dpo. So the second 2WW of this month has began. Since the end of January, I have been through seven 2WWs before this one but I still feel like I am at the beginning of my last 2WW. This is an interesting feeling. 😅

This is such a lovely message, thank you so much! Another negative this morning so think my chances are very low now and pretty certain that AF will appear in a couple of days. My husband is very pragmatic but I have to admit I had really got my hopes up this time and have been symptom checking constantly. At least I’ve got a day or two to prepare myself for AF, it’s just all the waiting that gets to me.

Vimto1991 · 25/08/2026 07:05

Woke up at 5am with painful cramps and sore breasts. If it wasn’t for having cramps with my first I’d just assume AF was arriving. To be honest, I still feel like AF is imminent. I just feel very periody :(

I read to get over the sadness of AF to get yourself some treats every period of a failed cycle. I.e have a drink, some foods you can’t have pregnant, etc!

Sending you love, but also a bit of hope that AF doesn’t appear! That’s great advice, I’m not really a big drinker but might plan to go for a nice meal with a couple of glasses of wine as something nice whilst AF is around.

I’ve felt like that since about 4DPO (I am 10DPO today). Definitely get yourself some nice snacks if she does appear. Not to get your hopes up but I felt like AF was going to come with my first but she never did

I'm 13DPO and AF is imminent but not arrived yet so tested and as predicted a BFN. Means I can enjoy a drink for my husband's birthday next week, but also means now no May baby, I'll be at least 34 when I have a child which is not where I wanted to be 😔

I really feel you with this one 😥I was 35 when I had my daughter and I'll be at least 38 if we manage to get pregnant again.

I don't know if it would've been easier if we'd had kids younger, but in one way its been great having kids later, I've done everything I wanted to do - successful career, holidays, nights out etc.

I'm 8DPO and at the point where I am overanalysing every 'symptom', very mild cramps on and off and feel nauseous occasionally are all I can come up with so far 😂

Period is due Saturday so if AF hasn't arrived I will do a test then. Only 4 days to get through.

Selyak · 25/08/2026 12:52

More spotting this morning so definitely think I’m out

Hey 👋 my period is due Saturday too so we're in this together! Also trying not to symptom spot 😅 Fingers crossed for both of us!

Oh I feel that 😅 every month I tell myself to not think too much but you just can't help it can you, especially in the final week when symptoms usually arrive for AF anyway.

I'm actually on cycle 11, but one or two of those cycles were a bit mistimed so more like 10ish cycles of well timed trying it's been a long one I'm not going to lie. We have some more tests booked in for October if nothing has happened by then so that's helping lower my anxiety a bit.

What about you?

Yes I find myself losing the plot more and more until my period arrives! What tests do you have booked? I just had a 3D pelvic scan and a bunch of different blood tests that all came back okay, I am under the care of EPU for recurrent miscarriages.

This is our 5th cycle. Cycle 1 was straight after a drawn out miscarriage so didn't really try that hard, and I skipped a period in cycle 3 so can't count that one either!

Been doing ovulation tests for the last 2 cycles and definitely upped our game when it comes to sex, so I have high hopes for this cycle!

Don't mind us just having our monthly psychosis ,😩😂
Sorry to hear about your losses, but hopefully the team you're under will be able to help you find out if you need some treatment to help you get there.

I'm not sure why it's taking us so long. We have already had the bloods and my partner has had his SA done and everything's been fine there. I do know that I have one small fibroid but not sure if that could be preventing anything. Part of me suspects I may have endometriosis as I do have quite heavy and painful periods and they do vary in how bad they are. The test/procedure in October is a Hycosy, have you heard of it? It's where they check if your tubes are 'open' and not blocked by inflammation/endometriosis etc.

Good luck for this cycle 🩷

Oh wow! No never heard of that. I have a friend with endo and its horrendous, I hope they figure things out for you quickly.

Praying for us both this cycle 😊

Just to update I had another BFN today so I think I am definitely out. I hope everyone gets their BFP soon xxx
