Hi guys! Opening a thread for those ttc in the new year! I'll be starting again after an MMC in November, fingers crossed that this'll be a lucky year for all!

So, I tested this morning (with what was obviously my last test) then my toddler needed me and I forgot about the test for 20 minutes… positive or indent? I keep changing my mind every time I look at it, and typically can’t take another one to be able to check in the time frame because that was my last one!

AF arrived as I knew it would. Think I completely missed ovulation. Never mind, on to the next cycle and now on CD1! My app isn’t predicting my next ovulation until February 10th so it will be a long old wait 😞

Is the darkness of the line consistent? It seems like it's lighter in the middle so on the pic it looks a bit more like an indent but I don't know! Can you buy more tests today?

@Anya23 thus is probably a clearer picture of it, the lighting isn’t as harsh here. I think it looks pretty consistent but I’m not 100% sure. I’d only be able to get a normal test, not a sensitive one today, the shops around here never seem to have the early ones! I’ve already ordered more that’ll be here tomorrow though 🤞🏻

Has it got any colour in the line? Looks more grey from the photo so could be an indent, but know it’s difficult to get a clear pic. Unfortunately I don’t think you’ll get a definitive answer without doing another test. Good luck X

Edit: Just seen the new pic, looks promising! 😊

@BellaStar2020 shes setting you up to be able to handle anything 💪🏼😂

@hopeful4us oh that would be lovely! A whirlwind, but being so close in age would be so nice!

@Glittertint you must be due a calm second baby also 😂

wishing you all lots of luck and baby dust! ✨ I’m still waiting for AF to start which should be any day now and then onto CD1 of month 1 trying. It took us 4 months last time, but the first month I properly tracked my cycles we were successful, but I’m anticipating it taking longer this time!

Orangeroses243 · 03/01/2026 09:26

@TTCNumber2in2025 deffo looks positive to me. I am ttc no2 aswell. Ive just taken a test! (Wayyyyy to early of course 🤣🤣😅 8dpo, pointless I know but cant resist and just excited of the possibility to be pregnant again 🥰) However, I am sharing it as mine is stark white no lines or indents and is the exact same test as yours so id say congratulations to you as I read yours as positive 💗💓xxxx

Hi everyone, currently 7dpo & two early losses around 4 years ago, I decided to give it one last go,
so here I am, driving myself nuts in the tww and wondering if I’ll ever have the chance to have a baby in my arms again. The challenge being I’m approaching 42.

DS1 is 14
DS2 is 12

Current symptoms:

Dry nose
No CM after OV (unless I check cervix)
Sides of boobs sore
Twinges on left side ovary location
Sudden little headaches that last seconds

It’s still too early to test so I’ll hold out till the middle of next week. Back to work on Monday so the extra time I have on my hands is to relax & symptom spot!

Love & baby dust to all.

Awbiscuits · 03/01/2026 09:53

Would love to join you ladies!

I'm currently on CD23 and got a BFN yesterday - my cycles are normally between 24-29 days so I'm guesstimating I'm around 11dpo based on CM/sex drive. However despite OPK testing twice a day from cd11 I never got a positive so I'm not certain I'm even ovulating which is a worry...

AF could arrive any time from Monday so I'm already planning the next cycle - I've bought loads of cheap OPKs and I'm going to test 3x a day from when my period ends to see if I can catch a peak.. crossing my fingers I'm just one of those women with short, easy to miss surges rather than not ovulating...

I'm 32 and am very fortunate to already have an amazing 4yo daughter who would love to be a big sister.

Sending lots of luck to everyone!

Orangeroses243 · 03/01/2026 09:56

@FortiesMumTTC3 lovely post!
Just realised I am actually 6dpo and tested not even 8dpo! So basically a pointless test 🤣🤣

Tww drivea you crazy doesnt it! And Symptom spotting is hard as it can just be hormonal as you know, have any of your symptoms stood out as in different from usual post ovulation. I noticed lower back twinges and slightly sore boobs yesterday but dont want to get my hopes up too much! Xx

Anya23 · 03/01/2026 10:08

Hi @Awbiscuits
You could have had a peak on CD 10, and ovulate on day 11. My LH levels go back down really fast after my peak so you never know!

OP posts:
FortiesMumTTC3 · 03/01/2026 10:10

@Orangeroses243 thanks luv
My typical cycle is sore brick feeling boobs 7 days before AF, this time it’s more the sides that hurt. I don’t recall any twinges or headaches in a normal cycle so I feel quite positive.

I’m also quite worried about the reaction (should I get a BFP) from my two sons, especially the eldest - I think he would horrified at the thought of me having a baby. He’s a difficult child & maybe if it doesn’t happen I’ll just need to hang on a decade or so for a grandchild, this really is my last shot due to my age. I know my chances at approaching 42 are slim but I’d love nothing more.

What are you symptoms like?

Booksandclocks · 03/01/2026 10:17

This is maybe too much of a downer - ignore if so.

Just wondering if anyone else feels really lonely in the TTC phase. I feel rejected and unloved every time my husband isn't keen to DTD (even though I think we're past the key dates now but I'm not sure). He's incredibly supportive and I know this is crazy (and I think saying all of this to him would only up the pressure in ways that would be counterproductive).

Does doing OPKs and having more clarity around dates help? I'm scared it'll just make me spiral more.

FortiesMumTTC3 · 03/01/2026 10:32

@Booksandclocks i hear you. TTC can feel lonely, for me I don’t DTD in the tww and the intimacy feels like it can be more transactional.

Have you tried little things you enjoy together to keep the romance going? Even if the focus is getting pregnant, little date days & nights and nice underwear can help.

Anya23 · 03/01/2026 10:33

Hi @Booksandclocks
So sorry you feel that way.. I can't really answer to the first part, I also feel really sad when DH doesn't want to dtd, and I feel like we miss a whole cycle because of that - but I guess being on this forum has helped me a lot in feeling not lonely
For the second part - to each their own, it definitely makes me more crazy and stressed tracking with strips, whereas with my daughter I relied on cm alone, and fell pregnant I the first cycle tracking. I'm only using LH strips now, because after the MMC my cycle is not what it used to be yet, so I want to see when I'll ovulate the first cycle but hopefully by next month everything will be back to the same x

@FortiesMumTTC3 my SIL had her 3rd baby when her other 2 were 8 and 11. They were worried about how her DS11 would be as he is autistic and struggles with change but baby no.3 (now 4!) was the making of all of them! Both kids were so gentle and loving with their little brother and it definitely made them more caring and responsible.

Thanks @Anya23 I'm hoping this is the case and if I start testing earlier next month I will catch it. I might use the app that records the levels as well although DH will think I've gone nuts as he only agreed that we should 'see what happens' with having another. Although we've done that since August and nada...

Glittertint · 03/01/2026 10:49

@BellaStar2020 disrupted sleep can definitely throw it off, they say you need 3-4 hours undisrupted before a reading! My temp dropped my 0.1 today and I’m trying to not think I’m out as I slept so badly it usually is lower when I do!

@TTCNumber2in2025 That looks more positive to me than an indent! But definitely another test will confirm for sure!

I also put them in premum, I find that helps a lot! I didn't tell DH that I'm tracking with three apps, lol, although he knows I am tracking in a way, just doesn't know how 🤣also for us it's a pretty big tell that I want to dtd all the time in my fertile days, so wouldn't even have to track, but that just makes it even more sure that we don't miss out any days

Thanks @Anya23 and @FortiesMumTTC3 - it feels better to know I'm not alone. Thanks for creating this space to share.

I can definitely try date nights etc. though we don't usually do that so I think he'd find it odd. It also (for now) just feels like one more thing to plan or keep track of or try on my side while he basically does nothing he doesn't want to (again I do feel like this is all a bit unfair but it's just a rough day). I'm hoping tomorrow will be more positive.

So sorry you're finding it tough today. How long have you been trying for? After 3 cycles trying for our first my DH tentatively said 'its not as much fun as I thought it would be' 😂🫣 - I think they can find it overwhelming too (and they don't often have a place like MN to share that).

IME if you're already beating yourself up for 'missed days' etc then lots of tracking can cause further anxiety - I found myself obsessing far too much. This time around I'm just keeping an eye on what my body is telling me and BD every other day ish.

Hi! Welcome to the chat! Sorry to hear of your losses and well done for trying again!

i am trying to for number 2 with a 4.5 year old at the moment.

I’ve been having the headaches that last for seconds too, they feel like little stabs in the head, have yous been like this? A bit like lightning?
