TWW feels like forever

WHY does the TWW feel like forever?! I thought I was 7dpo then I actually hit my peak late, and now I’m 3dpo and just want to test😂 fertile window being 28th-2nd with ovulation on 3rd and BD every other day so really hoping it’s done the trick. Had a chemical on Nov 10th. Did anyone fall pregnant the cycle after a chemical?

Oh ladies, I feel ya! 🤭 as you know this is my first month ever TTC so I’m just learning lots from reading on here - estimating I am 7dpo and bought some test strips from Boots today and working very hard not to take one because I’ve read 10dpo is the earliest chance (for most women) to get a positive so I’m really really trying to wait it out!!

SKLM · 10/12/2025 18:18

@ttcfirsttime26 it's definitely a bit cheaper if you can bear to wait! Sigh.

ttcfirsttime26 · 10/12/2025 18:57

@SKLM what tests would you recommend as the best? 🫶🏻

SKLM · 10/12/2025 19:08

@ttcfirsttime26 my experience is if you want to test early then first response are the most reliable, they also have a pink dye so it's easier to see. So up to 5 days before your missed period (or maaaybe slightly earlier) first response has worked for me before. Clear blue really are difficult when used early on, they can cause dye bleeding and are difficult to read. Their ultra early digital (not standard with the week's calculator) is good to confirm once your period is due but the weeks calculator one can be a bit less sensitive. E.g you get a positive first response and negative clear blue digital. I have a stock of easy at home strips which are cheap and good. They are less sensitive than first response. I first tested pregnant with my son with an easy at home at about 13dpo x

SKLM · 10/12/2025 19:10

Overall it is best to hold off if you can because if you read first response package inserts then there is a percentage of women who won't test positive that early. I know for fact I won't be able to do this! I have ordered a two pack from Amazon I will probably cave and use one around 10dpo...

Bubs94 · 10/12/2025 19:11

@CPHB2021 ah no, sorry!! What dpo are you? It’s a horrid feeling wishing for AF but a relief when it does come to start a fresh cycle x

Just to add that is just my experience with pregnancy tests :)

Bassbeh17 · 10/12/2025 19:47

It’s super hard to know when to test when I’ve not had any kind of cycle, I just stopped the pill and there’s been nothing since, it’s 12 days since stopping so I literally have no clue what’s happening!

SKLM · 10/12/2025 20:09

@Bassbeh17 hey there! Have you tr ied doing ovulation tests? I've stopped the pill a few times in my life and my periods used to come straight back but this time it took months for me. No periods for ages, I wasn't pregnant. I had no idea what my cycles were doing.

Bassbeh17 · 10/12/2025 20:39

@SKLM I haven’t tried that yet as this is the first month, I am trying to wait for a bleed or BFP whatever comes first, then if there still isn’t anything I will start using ovulation tests. I feel like I will be so sad if it doesn’t happen quickly like it did last time.

SKLM · 10/12/2025 20:49

@Bassbeh17 I know how you feel. I got pregnant with my son first cycle trying. I am on my first cycle trying for no.2 and feel really emotional about it. I know I was so lucky last time but it has set the bar and my expectations really high

SKLM · 10/12/2025 20:51

At the moment I am alternating between feeling sick and wanting to eat a tub of ice cream. Feels like pms to me 😫

Bassbeh17 · 10/12/2025 20:54

@SKLM exactly this! I’m literally 12 days into trying and keep telling myself I’m being ridiculous but I can’t stop. I keep getting random cramps or a little shooting pain down there too which I don’t normally get, my nipples get randomly sore too but it’s hard to know if it’s just my body adjusting to not having the pill in it 🤷🏽‍♀️

SKLM · 10/12/2025 21:02

@Bassbeh17 it's so hard isn't it. I am laying in bed just feeling every tiny thing my body is doing lol. I didn't think I wanted another baby so much until we started trying, now I'm getting a bit obsessed. I keep telling myself it's nothing and I will get my period. I hate being hopeful and then disappointed x

Bassbeh17 · 10/12/2025 21:08

@SKLM I will keep my fingers crossed for us both 🤞🏼

SKLM · 10/12/2025 21:09

Aw thanks. I will too!!

Plumchumm · 10/12/2025 23:26

Hi all, I'm sick with a cold. Sneezing, sore throat, and just run down. Everyone seems to have it right now! but other than that I have noticed nothing. Usually I'd have sore boobs by 7/8dpo, but nothing. I'm 7dpo today.
I did take a progesterone blood test today, one of those at home tests and sent it away. I'm not super confident on whether I actually ovulated this cycle, because my test was kind of confusing, but I went with it because I had my other usual ovulation signs (cramps, super high libido, ewcm, and then thick cm the very next day).

It kind of annoys me when I don't get my sore boobs because it's the one sure way I can confirm 'ok I did ovulate'. Let's hope I'm not being trolled!

Plumchumm · 10/12/2025 23:30

Also - I'm not going to test this cycle. It's not usual, but I'm just kind of tired of the whole dance of 'is this a line, is it not a line'. Last month when I was pregnant with my chemical, it was actually a surprise. I had taken a test on 8dpo, it was negative, and then I made peace with it thought I was out. Didn't test at all. Then my period was due, I had started spotting and thought great it's coming! and then it never started. I just had faint brown spotting for a few days. Boobs were still sore. Then it hit me, I knew I was pregnant (same symptoms as my other pregnancies).

So I feel like, I'll know if I am. And at least at that point if I wait until I'm late it's much less likely to be a faint or chemical. Well, hoping so.

Hi ladies, jumping on this thread. My cycles aren’t regular since having my mirena removed so I can’t be 100% on dpo (I wish I had more info on the coil before having it in, but that’s a story for another day). I suspect it was between the 2-4th due to symptoms. I’m waiting until next week before testing, I’ve been really tempted to buy tests to try this week but I know I’ll just get in to that cycle of negative and daily testing which I just don’t want to do.. and I have Xmas presents to buy!! I already have an almost teenager and I had very strong symptoms when I fell pregnant with her, I’m unsure when I tested though .. and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t obsessively testing like I do now. I believe I did one test and that was when I realised my period hadn’t arrived. Maybe because I was in my early 20s and care free 🙈 now I’m just paranoid about everything! lol.

SKLM · 11/12/2025 08:49

@Plumchumm sorry to hear you are unwell, everyone I know seems to be poorly including us here at home. I understand you not wanting to test, I know deep down it makes all my stress worse testing early and looking for lines etc. Sore boobs were one of my earliest signs too and I don't have any yet. I find ovulation testing a bit confusing, sometimes my symptoms don't match up with the results I am getting. Who knows though, like you say it you wait you will know if you are :)

ttcfirsttime26 · 11/12/2025 13:38

How are we doing today, ladies?

I am thinking I’m either 7 or 8dpo today and foolishly did one of the Boots test strips when I know it’s far too early (I don’t even think I got the ones that you can take 6 days early so maybe I’ve messed up lol) and I shouldn’t have bought them because I knew I’d be tempted 🤦🏼‍♀️ obviously was just stark white but the control line took a while too so I don’t know if the test was faulty. I’m going to leave it now until the weekend when I should be around 10/11dpo or maybe until Monday. AF due a week tomorrow!

Bubs94 · 11/12/2025 13:58

@ttcfirsttime26 afternoon!
all good thank you. I’m feel a little less positive today for this cycle. I don’t know why. I’m 8dpo today and although last cycle before I got my bfp at 12dpo, it wasn’t until that day where the nausea hit me, didn’t really have any symptoms leading up to that, but this cycle I’m just assuming I should do. The waiting is TORTURE!! The want to test is too much isn’t it!!
im going to do a cheapy when I get home and see what that’s like! X

@Bubs94 @ttcfirsttime26 hellooo. I feel for you both. I keep wanting to test. I've ordered some super early tests for the end of the weekend which I am telling myself I need to save for when it counts!

Plumchumm · 11/12/2025 19:28

How’s everyone today? I’ve had some cramps since last night and like lower back pain, and today some nausea but I’ve had those on normal cycles too. :) x

CPHB2021 · 11/12/2025 19:30

The TWW is so agonising, hope you’re all hanging in there. Still no AF for me but still testing negative. I have really heavy stomach/cramping which is typical early pregnancy symptoms for me. I just hope AF comes soon. I’m 18-21 DPO. Never thought I’d be saying this but roll on AF!! Xx
