BB i understand what you mean... though i pester DH all the time about ttc, not just after being on here!! take however long it takes and come back with a BFP!!! none of us will be offended!!

i'm now 8dpo, dont feel pg, dont feel like testing yet, and will easily hold out till the 15th!! DH thinks it'll be weds/thur.... but i dont want to ruin my birthday by getting a neg even if i know its too early and honestly dont think i'm pg (if that makes sence?).....

Had some portraits of the kids done yesterday, looking forward to seeing them!! Not a lot else developing here atm!!

though DH is annoying me!! he's working till 9pm tonight and doesn't have to leave here till 10-10.30 this morning but is sleeping!!! poor kids wont see him all day now!! and he was supposed to be having some arts and crafts time with the kids so they can make my bday cards!!!!

sorkycake · 09/06/2008 08:37

Bloody hell I'm 5 weeks, ooh, that means I'll be 9 when we get back from hols.

Maybe I should ring the week before I go. Will I miss my dating scan if I don't register with the m/w until 9weeks?

kayzisexpecting · 09/06/2008 08:42

You should be all right Sorky.

DS has learnt to climb on the sofa. Nowhere is safe from him now!!

happynappies · 09/06/2008 08:50

Haven't caught up properly yet - need to go back and read through the old thread, so will be back later but...

NJ - def. sounds like SPD. I suffered terribly with it, and I would not hesitate to make an appointment to see GP now about it. Not wishing to sound negative, but it might get worse - medics often try to fob you off with 'oh its just aches and pains of pregnancy' etc, so be prepared to be quite forceful. You could do with a support belt at least, I should think. There is a great website called PelvicPartnership - I have emailed them lots and they can deal with queries really quickly and helpfully. Does it hurt more when you go up and downstairs, when you get in/out of the car? when you are getting dressed? I hope it isn't SPD - fingers crossed, but if you've got it this early on, it would be well worth getting treatment now rather than later.

Will catch up later on - hope everyone is ok!

EsmeWeatherwax · 09/06/2008 09:10

Morning all,

Kays, my dd is part monkey I'm sure, climbs everywhere! Its a nightmare when they start that! Worst was when she clibed onto the dining table via a chair she had pulled out...heart attack stuff

Sorky, doubt you'll miss your scan, guess you could always phone to check? Can I have some of your energy? I'm sitting in work like a washed out rag...

EsmeWeatherwax · 09/06/2008 09:11

Or even climbed...have a pic of her on my profile when she mountaineered to the top of the sofa from a box that was behind it...sigh...

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 09/06/2008 09:34

Tink have a lovely time We are away 2 weeks today, only that freebie Pontins lark to Southport, but the kids should enjoy it

to Cosmo Glad you're still keeping up

Sorky, of your energy, pass it around will you?!! Good luck with the car, my advice, if your DH is anything like mine, go and lock yourself in a sound proofed room and stay there till he's sorted it! (or better still, lock him in the room!! )
Re. the midwives, it depends how busy they are, I phoned for an appointment at about 6 weeks, couldn't book me in till I was 8+ weeks, and now my dating scan will be slightly later.

Glaskham, I hope your instinct is wrong, when is your birthday?

Happy, thanks for that info ! It really hurts when I wake up, I have to roll over in a straight line, rather than legs going first follwed by my body, I have to do a log roll I wouldn't even attempt the stairs for a few minutes! Like I said though by mid-morning most of the achyness is gone, only get's worse if I sit still for too long (Like that happens all the time often! )

DS2 has only in the last month managed to haul himself up on the sofa, he is short, and the sofa is leather so slippy, but he managed to climb up DS1's slide right to the top the other day, and he climbs on DS1's chair then onto his table, then onto the window sill.....

Playingthewaitinggame · 09/06/2008 09:53

Morning all,

Sorry haven't caught up with the old thread just saw the new thread and came straght in

From what I gather it sounds like BB is leaving us for a while. I can only echo what everyone else has said. Take as much time as you want, we will miss you but understand, come back whenever you feel ready.

So, did we all have nice weekends?

I spent sunday playing with a 9 week old baby, sigh. She was lovely, I could have taken her home or at least bottled that new baby smell. I want one. Well not long now I spose. Still, it took a lot of will power to tell DH last night that it wasn't safe not to use protection.

What else has been going on then?

glaskham · 09/06/2008 10:17

playing- i had a nice weekend thanks, went shopping on saturday with my mum and sister and the kids, and yesterday went for a wander round a carboot with them, didn't get anythign just went for the walk really, but went to tesco to stock up on nappies while they're 1/3 off!!

NJ- bday is weds i'll be 23!! and i wont be too upset if i get a BFN, it'd be a total shock to get a BFP!!!

DH got up to find i'd set up arts and crafts for the kids, stuck him with them for an hour while i put the washing out, put another load in, mowed the lawn, hoovered all the house but the living room, made his lunch and made him a brew and some breakfast... so the kids have made me cards which i just cant wait to see, and i got most of my housework done that i'd have slotted in, so have some free time to play on the pc and have spent the last 15mins playing with DS and his cars on his new car mat... but i got sick of him bossing me about- dont know where he gets it from

need to see if i can get dd to sleep on the walk back from nursery later so i can sort the garden out a little more as we're havign a big bbq on weds afternoon, my parents and sisters and a couple of friends... not anythign too big, no alcohol provided (is that mean) and lots of food!!! mmmmmmmmm!! lets keep fingers crossed for a sunny day!!

kookykid · 09/06/2008 10:29

Hi all,

LBOT - sorry for your BFN - fingers crossed for next one. have a feeling I might be joining you.

NJ - sorry about your pain - I had simialr pain in the last couple of months of my pg with DD which was eased a bit at night by having one of those bean-bag V cushions which I kept between my knees and thighs.

Glaskham, I think I am going to get a BFN this time too (am due to test on Weds). Just don't feel pg and feeling a bit Af-y.#

Have my SIL and her husband here for a couple of days, so will be enjoying the garden as long as the weather holds.

sorkycake · 09/06/2008 10:30

Nat we're going for a Galaxy because it can be fixed for free, yay!

I've had SPD with the last 2 pg and had to finish work at 24 weeks with ds1 because I couldn't drive

I saw a PT with ds2 because I was told it would happen again and I started the exercises they gave me from 9 weeks and it was much easier.

Log rolling out of bed is exactly what you have to do. Walk sideways up the stairs (like a crab) this stops the pubic symphysis from separating and should allow you to go up and down stairs relatively comfortable.

Driving for longer than 30 minutes was out for me. We walked everywhere.

the exercises are similar to those pelvic floor ones we should be doing

Lie on back, knees bent, feet flat on surface. Pelvic tilts. You place your hands just inside your pelvic area and you aim to feel those m/s tightening. It's harder than it sounds.

If it's started this early then you'll need to see a pyhsio asap. Towards the middle to end of the pg I have to wear a support band to hold the weight off my pelvis. The baby doesn't like it much though, but it does the job.

I used to wear it for things like housework and walking, then take it off when I got back in the house

this will tell you a little more about it.

Here are exercises similar to those I was given.

Full sympathy for you NJ it works like f*ckery

sorkycake · 09/06/2008 10:31

No hang on not sideways up the stairs , one foot at a time.

The sideways was to rotate an OP baby Sorry!

lastboxoftampons · 09/06/2008 10:38

Hi all - sorry I've been MIA, you've all been super chatty and I haven't actually read the last three pages or so of the last thread. Did I miss anything?

Sorry, NJ, I know it's serious, but I did have a little chuckle at your online physical description of your hip pain! [] Hope you're feeling better soon.

Right, I'm already on CD2 - went to the gym this morning, had fruit for breakfast and just about to have some green tea. Our builders start today on our new extension and I figure that's a sure sign I'll get PG - happens on Grand Designs all the time! And Sarah Beeny is ALWAYS pregnant! So builders=pregnancy!

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 09/06/2008 10:48

Lbot, that's fine, you chuckle away while I am in absolute agony No, seriously, it isn't hurting hardly any at the moment! I was going to use () but I thought you might have all thought I was trying to make my hips look smaller..!! maybe more like ( ) LOL

Eek Sorky, that doesn't sound good does it? Will check the links in a sec, DS1 has fallen alseep on the floor.

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 09/06/2008 10:49

????? I had a load of space in between the last lot of ()

GruffaloSoldier · 09/06/2008 11:03

My god, I have been away for a few days and there is no way I can catch up! I thought I would let you know that I am preparing to fall gracefully of the wagon! I started taking my folic acid today and am aiming to start ttc in about a month. I am SOO excited!
Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather!

Playingthewaitinggame · 09/06/2008 11:07

Glaskham - sounds like you had a great weekend.

NJ - have no idea whats causing the pains, hoping for your sake it isn't SPD.

LBOT - I like you building = pg plan!

Just had a chat to my colleague about the weekend said I spent sunday playing with a lovely 9 week old baby. Hmm, not such a good idea. Got the "well don't you get broody, don't want to loose you to pg plus I have no idea about all this mat pay stuff" (he's the accounts guy). Never had anyone go on mat leave here you see, so I would be the first. Think I need to keep my mouth firmly shut from now on!

glaskham · 09/06/2008 11:20

right i'm off for now... get kids fed and watered before the nursery run, then still hoping to get out in the garden... considering going into town for an outfit to wear for the bbq.... but dotn know yet!!

have a nice monday everyone, i'll no doubt be back catching up this evening as DH is working late and kids WILL be in bed by 6.30!!! they are argueing like mad and its driving me insane!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 09/06/2008 11:20

Hoorah for Gruffalo This is the exciting part

Playing, I'd keep dropping tiny weeny little hints every now and then, so it isn't a complete shock!

Have just noticed my Again bit has fallen off my name??? Am off to find it, how long has it been like that?!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 09/06/2008 11:37

I know what you mean Nat, twas thinking maybe I should. However, there is a big part of me that thinks I'm not going to get pg quickly. I have longish cycles (e.g have only had 4 full cycles this year compared to the 6 most people have had) which reduces my chances of conceiving from about 12/13 times a year to about 8/9. I also ov pretty late, so might not always have great quality eggs, so I think it may not be that easy to get pg. So, if its going to take a while, I'm not sure I want work to know. Would hate to not only be not pg next March (my review date) but to also miss out on pay rise/promotion because people know I will be off at some point to have kids. That would be awful. So, I think keeping quiet is the only option.

Gruffalo, yay for jumping off the wagon! Think I may have to jump off soonish too! Not sure whether I want to wait till Sept anymore. Think I will regret waiting that long if it takes ages to get pg. Mind you if by some miracle I did get pg straight away I would probably regret not waiting. Dilema.

GruffaloSoldier · 09/06/2008 11:40

Thanks NJ! I can wait to get started
Hope you get your pains sorted out soon.
Playing - I wouldn't worry about one person's thoughts! Sounds like he needs to get a grip!

GruffaloSoldier · 09/06/2008 11:45

Playing - I feel exactly the same! Its swings and roundabouts! We were originally waiting to see if DH got a promotion but now I'm like who gives a damn! If I wait any longer I might explode!!My mum took 2 years to conceive her first, however that was 38 years ago! My sister got pg straight away 3 times!Who knows what will happen.eek!

sorkycake · 09/06/2008 11:46

Playig do you need a shove?

Get ready Nat!

calsworld · 09/06/2008 11:49

Morning all...am at work so won't be able to post much today , not feeling very fired up it has to be said. Am going for a nice walk at lunchtime with a colleague which should break the day up a bit and get me out into the lovely sunshine. Isn't it beautiful .

LBOT, sorry for AF, but to be honest, there's a right funny old bunch on that Feb thread so you're best of skipping that one anyway!!

Having said that - its still not all out for me yet - AF isn't due until next Saturday and so far, things are going quite well....I have no AF symptoms when for the last couple of months since I've been tracking them I would have had lots for about the last four days now - so that could be a) a good sign for a bfp b) a good sign that I'm managing to chill out a bit and not notice the af signs c) a mild and relatively painfree af

any of those options suits me just fine...honest!

We didn't exactly try very hard this month as needed to step back a bit, will get back into the swing of things next month I should think though.

NJ at you being uncomfortable sleeping already! I saw an osteopath during pg with DS1 and he helped loads, perhaps you could try that?

GruffaloSoldier · 09/06/2008 11:50

See you all later!
