@gallopingkelpies I've managed to resist so far! Yep, still on for tomorrow. What about you?

@TwinkleStarLight sorry to hear it was BFN. I'm really not sure about the spotting. When is AF due?

@Notsure31 of course, pm away! I'm not too familiar with temping as I don't do it myself but I'm sure another time worn hurt 😂

givingitanothergo · 16/08/2025 18:30

@TwinkleStarLight I remember not being a fan of those clear blue tests :( hope it’s just too early still ?

I only had a very very faint line on 10 dpo in the evening in my last pregnancy and that was with twins (one we lost early on)

NatalieSF · 16/08/2025 18:54

Congratulations @Ella31

Just an update on my side. I'm currently 6dpo hoping to hold out testing till 8 or 9. Got my bfp at 9dpo last time but know it can be too early. Have a gut feeling im out for absolutely no specific reason but time will tell

SureLook · 17/08/2025 06:48

BFN at 12dpo so I'm out. I'm disappointed, but not really sad. Roll on the next month!

gallopingkelpies · 17/08/2025 09:02

Me too 😢I felt so pregnant this month too.. only two more cycles of clomid left now which is also a bit scary

ForGiddyDreamer · 17/08/2025 09:09

@SureLook @gallopingkelpies sorry to hear BFN this morning. It's so hard. Hope you both do something nice today. Onto next month for BFPs 🤞

@TwinkleStarLight Those CB tests come with some whoppers of evaps. I had one that I was almost convinced was BFP because it was thick and blue. Folks in here too were near convinced by it too. I'd recommend not using one until after confirming with a different brand.

SureLook · 17/08/2025 09:19

@gallopingkelpies sorry to hear you're the same. What happens when you finish the clomid?

@ForGiddyDreamer thanks for the sympathies x

OP posts:
TwinkleStarLight · 17/08/2025 11:06

@ForGiddyDreamer absolutely agree! I’m shocked how many people have experienced this. They’re not cheap either. Feeling a bit flat as it really got my hopes up. AF due tomorrow/Tues so it’ll soon be a new month 🤞🏼

gallopingkelpies · 17/08/2025 17:42

There should be some kind of compensation for getting evap lines! Not only is it a mind f* but like you said it’s expensive!

@ForGiddyDreamer❤️

@SureLooki don’t think they will do anything after the clomid is done. I was only really put on it to sort of jump start my ovaries into a regular cycle after surgeries but seeing as I’ve already got kids, I don’t think they will do anything else.

SureLook · 17/08/2025 18:23

@gallopingkelpies ah, I see. Could you look into things privately or do you want to go down that route?

Hi lovely ladies,

I took a few months off this chat and in my break I was diagnosed with PCOS and learnt I was no ovulating at all (confirmed by bt) which after a year of TTC I found quite upsetting but also clarified a lot. I have been referred to an nhs fertility specialist but the weighting list is presumably long. I have been prescribed metformin for the time being which I’m told can kick start some women’s ovulation so this is the first month TTC on metformin. I’m 7DPO just took a test and it’s clear. I also have period paints so I’m 90% sure I’m out but just wanted to give an update/vent on here for my sanity haha!!

lovely to see some girls from the group have had their BFP - good luck to everyone else here!! Going to make a cup of tea and have a read back on the forum x

PeonyPatch · 17/08/2025 22:01

Ok ladies, we have dtd 4 times this month. Once was during my supposed fertile window, however we both think I ovulate later esp as my cycles are long - so the other times were after, including today…. so we’re hoping for something 🤞🏽

We were both down with an awful bug at the beginning of my fertile window so that set us back a bit. AF is due between now and 28 Aug, so let’s see. I’m not particularly optimistic this month, but let’s see. I’ve told DH we need to dtd a lot more frequently than 4 times… but what does everyone else think?

Also going to go back to ovulation sticks in September.

Hi lovely,

hope you’re ok, sorry to hear you were diagnosed with PCOS, but glad it provided you with some clarity at least. I, too was diagnosed with it back in June/July… I was quite up and down emotionally following it, but I’ve now started metformin too. I have been taking it for a month now. I haven’t noticed much difference yet but I’m wondering if I need to give it at least 3-6 months. It’s good you’re on the waiting list for fertility specialist. I think it’s a bit of a postcode lottery int terms of waiting lists. I went private for my diagnosis. We are considering going to the nhs for fertility support but going to keep trying for a few months longer. Good luck to you xx

Thank you for your message, sorry to hear that. I hope you’re doing okay. Did they establish whether you ovulate monthly, inconsistently or not at all? Really interested by the private fertility specialists, my diagnosis was on the NHS but I’ve gone as far with my GP as I can do now and I think I may be on this waiting list over a year.

How are you finding the metformin? Sending lots of love and baby dust to you xxxx

I think there’s no harm in dtd as much as you can on your ovulation day (and either side of it). How long have you been Ttc? X

I went to see an endocrinologist because my periods were very heavy. I had an ultrasound & blood tests which confirmed PCOS along with all my symptoms. I haven’t seen a fertility specialist yet, but the endocrinologist gave me a prescription for Metformin and I can get repeats on the nhs. It’s been fine taking it. I’m on slow release so no side effects fortunately!

sending love and luck your way too xx

PeonyPatch · 17/08/2025 22:34

The metformin is to regulate my periods and help me lose weight too as it a struggle with PCOS ( I have hashimotos too)

Tell me about it! I convinced myself this month with an evap. :-(

Sorry AF made her appearance. Sending lots of kindness your way. And grab yourself some Minstrels. (We have a saying in our house: Minstrels for your Menstrals - and it's the boys job in the house to buy and provide the chocolate!)

My first AF after the ectopic began on Thursday. So relieved a little to be starting a fresh and while away the time until TTC can commence again. End of October is the end of the three months post-methotrexate.

Feels like ages but trying to fill the time with all the things I can't do or plan whilst TTC... Any ideas of nice treats I can plan in?!

Iris2024 · 18/08/2025 08:52

Congratulations @Ella31 ❤️ what lovely news and on a digital too!

Im so sorry to ladies where AF has come, @Mash0917 @SureLook its soul destroying.

Nothing to report here at the moment, just very bloated after ovulation, I’m 5DPO — AF is expected 26th August so a wait to go!

EmPeEf · 18/08/2025 09:04

Anyone else have some months where your appetite just go nuts in the luteal phase?? Like you can’t satisfy it at all. I’m only 6dpo so not even near my period or a positive test, but I’m like a bottomless hole.

SureLook · 18/08/2025 09:27

@MyPeppyLimeBear sorry to hear you weren't ovulating for so long but at least you know what's going on now. Hopefully the metformin will help things along.

@PeonyPatch did you have any symptoms of ovulation like EWCM around the time you DTD? I would say it's more important to have sex before ovulation so the sperm are, hopefully, sitting there waiting. But it only takes one so you're definitely in with a chance.

@Mash0917 ah, I'm so sorry to hear that. Those evaps are the worst!

@Taysonic I love that you have that phrase in your house and it's the boys job. That's brilliant. Getting your first period post loss is relieving cause it feels like things are settling again. I would plan a spa day, nothing better than a spa day. You deserve it!

@Iris2024 thanks for the kind words.

@EmPeEf I get that sometimes. Completely insatiable appetite 😂

Someone please talk some sense into me. 😆 I have a once in a lifetime three week trip beginning of November in Asia that involves a lot of travelling (both the long flights there and also only staying in one city for two/three nights before getting a train somewhere else). There’s going to be a lot of walking and sightseeing. I also want to enjoy the food experiences - I don’t drink much anyway so that’s not a concern.

i know I should stop trying until October, so I don’t have to struggle with first trimester fatigue/nausea if I’m lucky enough to get pregnant. It’s only two months. And yet I’m so tempted to try anyway. A may/June baby is much better than a July/August one, I feel stuck waiting now as everything is ready and it’s a bit Groundhog Day with not a lot changing week on week, and it’s ruining my excitement for the holiday a bit since it feels more like a thing in the way to get through vs something I’m super looking forward to.
