Thanks for sorting my love @Hopeandfaith1990

hope everything went well @objectiontime today! Xx

Jecca88 · 03/08/2025 14:59

@tammyincork sounds like the appointment went really well and yes that is a chunk of the money at the start. Hoping you get your answers soon. I have found the meds ok tbh, it’s a lot to take and the steroids are the worst bit - in terms of moon face for me 🌝

Hopeandfaith1990 · 03/08/2025 15:01

Hi all, hope I did it right with making a new thread!!

@Jecca88 The appointment was good thanks lovely, lining was nice and thin so I've started the estrogen tablets now to thicken it before transfer. The estrogen tablets (Progynova) are not that fun - I have to take them 3 times a day and they seem to make me that perfect blend of so nauseous but also hungry. Feels a bit like a permanent hangover without the fun of the booze haha.

I think if you feel you've nailed the immune protocol then combining that with a PGT-A euploid embryo will give you a great chance so I reckon I agree with your hubs - in for a penny I guess too.

@Gizmo1983 Hope you're feeling ok xx

@TammyinCork Wow 4k - its so shit how expensive all of this is but well done for getting all of that done, hopefully it'll bring some clear results and lead to a good plan/protocol. Glad you found the clinic good. The drugs aren't that bad once you get used to them, although I can't speak for the intralipids. Are you having a TTC break in the meantime or are you able to try whilst you wait for results?

Hope everyone is all good xxx

@Hopeandfaith1990 Thank you so much for starting off the new thread, really appreciated 😃 Good to know your cycle is moving forward well. Sorry you are feeling a bit drunk without the fun though.

@TammyinCork, ooh that’s a lot of money but worth it if you get your answer and know the best way forwards.

i nearly missed my scan! For some reason I thought it was today but it was actually yesterday. All went well, measuring 12 plus 4.

Hi ladies, thanks for including me in this thread. I'd kept meaning to check back in so it was nice to have the reminder. I have sat and cried at a lot of your messages, it brings it all back for me, I'm so sorry for what you're all going through, it was the hardest stage of my life. I'm pleased to report that my little girl Heidi arrived (a little early) on 5th March after four consecutive losses on Dr. S protocol (and two before our first daughter was born). She's perfect. It was the first pregnancy I tried steroids - not sure if that made a difference or not, but the pregnancy was ironically a little bit of an accident so I hadn't done ovulation intralipids that cycle and I also didn't start taking any meds other than hydroxy until I got a positive test.

@Gizmo1983 I was racing through the thread wanting to read good news from you and I am sat here crying happy tears to hear that you are currently 15 weeks pregnant. We met in the CRP clinic about a year ago I think. I have absolutely everything crossed for you and am praying you get your miracle.

The only other thing I wanted to say is that I'm taking part in something called marathon for miracles next year - an amazing man called Olly is running 39 marathons in 39 weeks to raise money for Tommy's. He's going to run one in each county with someone who has been through pregnancy loss and I will be doing the Berkshire one with him. Im still holding on to a lot of trauma from the losses (which I definitely realised when I started crying at this thread) and I'm hoping it will be healing for me. If you fancy, give it a follow on insta - it's @marathonsformiracles.

Sending love and hope to you all xxxx

Hi everyone

Sorry for the radio silence but I wanted to let you all know that our miracle baby boy arrived in January following my sixth round of medication on Professor Shehata’s protocol and 3 previous losses.

I was genuinely worried that I would never be in this position and owe the CRP clinic everything. It was a physically and emotionally draining journey to get here but can honestly say it was worth it.

I am over the moon for anyone who has had positive news and am sending all my love and hope to anyone that is still on their journey, I truly hope that the CRP clinic work their magic for you and you get your miracles too.

All my love x

So happy to hear your positive stories @lozzmax @kea1990 genuinely gives me hope that it could be possible for me too 🩷 thank you for sharing. I will definitely look into the marathons (for DH not me 🤣🤣) he’d probably be interested. What an amazing thing to do - 39 is a lot of marathons!!

@lozzmax@kea1990thank you so much for sharing your success, huge congrats to you both! I tested positive on Saturday on my first cycle with Dr S so I needed to hear this!! Feeling so scared and finding it hard to trust that the protocol is going to work.

Also feeling very overwhelmed with the thought of the road I have ahead of me 😂. Just generally over thinking everything as you can imagine so I needed to hear this today! Xxx

Gizmo1983 · 03/08/2025 21:00

@Hopeandfaith1990 thanks so much for the new thread I wouldn’t have a clue how to do it 🤪. Those oestrogen tablets are yucky things
@Objectiontime woohoo that’s awesome news so pleased you still managed to get scanned ☺️.
hey @lozzmax massive congratulations how time flies doesn’t it. Im still very scared in my head I suppose im thinking if I lost one at 15 weeks what’s to say I wont loose one at 18 or 20 or 27 weeks but it’s something I just need to deal with and hope and pray this is our time 🤞🤞🤞
@kea1990 massive congratulations 🥳

@Hopeandfaith1990 thank you and yes I am feeling very relieved, still cautious though:)

Gizmo1983 · 03/08/2025 23:25

@Objectiontime have they decided when you are to start weaning the steroids? @lozzmax and @kea1990 were you nervous weaning from the steroids it’s like losing your safety blanket xxx

I did feel a little nervous but I think I was actually more anxious when I stopped the progesterone as that was really the last bit of medication for me (except the intralipids). I found the regular scans at the clinic really reassuring and my husband used to say to me that we had no reason to doubt the plan and that we were in the best hands but I think it’s natural to be worried. Sending lots of love xxx

elarcoiris · 04/08/2025 07:20

Thank you for starting the thread and tagging me @Hopeandfaith1990, glad to have found you guys again!

And lovely to hear your positive stories @lozzmax and @kea1990, thank you for sharing!

xx

Newbeginnings22023 · 04/08/2025 08:42

Hi @Hopeandfaith1990 thanks so much for adding me. Hope everyone is ok. I’m still reading and following everyone’s news but I’m not as active as I would like due to my mum’s critical condition. Sadly she’s still in a coma and they found multiple strokes in her brain, so it was a good decision for me to pause this whole TTC process as I can’t mentally cope with all of this.

Hope everyone is doing ok xxx

lozzmax · 04/08/2025 09:25

@Gizmo1983 yes I was nervous to wean off but Silvia Edge was so reassuring the entire time. I totally get the worry though. I was on hydroxy for basically my entire pregnancy - is that what they've recommended for you too?

@Newbeginnings22023 sorry for what you're going through, sending love x

Deerdancer34 · 04/08/2025 10:05

@Hopeandfaith1990 Thank you for setting up the thread. So pleased to hear all is going in the right direction 💪* *

@Objectiontime Soooo happy to hear your news! I was wondering how you got on!

@TammyinCork It will feel good to have plan, I'm glad you had a good experience! I didn't have any problem with the medications, just the first time I took the steroids I blew up like a balloon. Weirdly after my ectopic, I didn't blow up - so it may be different for you.

@Newbeginnings22023 Sending so much love to you

It's lovely to hear so many positive stories! @Gizmo1983 You've got this! I actually found it very freeing coming off the medications but I completely understand your anxiety. Keep strong ♥

Much love to all xx

Fletchasketch · 04/08/2025 10:25

@Hopeandfaith1990 thanks for setting up the new thread.

To the new mums who have posted their success stories, I can't tell you how encouraging it is to hear- but mainly huge congratulations!

@Objectiontime so pleased to hear you had a positive scan, that's one very important milestone down, I hope the anxiety starts to ease a little from here.

@Gizmo1983 glad to hear your stitch is done, must be good to have it out of the way. I do hope the migraines start to ease soon.

@Newbeginnings22023 sending love and strength, what you're going through sounds incredibly tough. Taking some time out from TTC sounds like a good idea.

I'm just back from a week away visiting my partner's family- lovely to have some fresh air and home grown food! Now on day 4 of the post ovulation meds- I'm not really enjoying the racing heart I get from the Pred, does it settle down after a few days?! It's also the sheer volume of medications and supplements I'm taking now which is hard to keep up with. Not sure how I'll cope if it takes months and months. My losses were both around 8 weeks and so I can't help thinking medication from a positive test would be fine, will ask at my next appointment- sure it won't go down well though!

Hope everyone has a good week xx

TammyinCork · 04/08/2025 11:10

@Hopeandfaith1990 Thank you for setting up the new thread, and hope all goes well with the oestrogen tablets. It sucks that we have to take so many medications - even the vitamins Dr S has put me on are a lot to take - but really hope they do the job!

@lozzmax and @kea1990, so pleased to hear your good news! An arduous process, but I've heard amazing reviews about Dr Edge from so many people, and how empathetic / reassuring she is.

@Objectiontime that must be an incredible relief! Great to hear...

@Gizmo1983 Really hope the migraines stop for you soon... That's great to hear that you reached the 15-week milestone.

@Morgan236 Congratulations, and wishing you well for the treatment ahead!

@Jecca88 Dreading moon face... May I ask what dosage you were on and from what point?

@Fletchasketch I listened to a podcast with Dr Thum where he said that he offers steroids from positive test. Others have taken them from 3 DPO.

@Newbeginnings22023 Wishing you well over this tough time, and taking a break sounds like a good idea.

I suspect I will be in the same boat as Objectiontime re: not being able to take intralipids, since I am allergic to peanuts and intolerant of soya! Will only start to TTC again once Dr Shehata gives it the green light / after getting results.

Hopeandfaith1990 · 04/08/2025 12:42

That's great news @Morgan236 it is a long road, but you've got the support of the clinic and Dr S and all of us here rooting for you ❤ amazing that it was your first cycle on the protocol! How are you feeling?

@Gizmo1983 I think those are very natural thought processes, but I think taking it literally day by day is a good approach - every day is a day further on in your journey even if it feels like its taking forever.

@Newbeginnings22023 so sorry you're going through such a difficult time, sending love and support.

@Fletchasketch I hate the racing heart on Pred, it always seems to be worse for me at night too although maybe I just notice it more then. It does calm down though, I took it for 9 weeks with my last pregnancy and didn't notice it much after the first few weeks. I really do recommend a tick chart for all the meds 😂 I'll try and add a photo of mine. It really helps and I would just take stuff and then forget whether I'd taken it or not lol. I also organise all my supplements into those daily container things so I don't have to worry about them individually.
