Hi all, I am now going down the donor egg route, after giving it a lot of thought and consideration. Have been looking at clinics in UK, Portugal and Greece and we will probably go with Greece, as it's non-anonymous donation and you can see photos of the donors if you go with an external egg bank. Hope everyone is doing well!

Deerdancer34 · 12/10/2026 08:02

@TammyinCork I wish you all the luck! I feel I may have to go down donor egg route at some point but not sure yet. I did my first round of IVF last month which was a disaster - I got no embryos which really shocked me, so waiting for my review meeting. It's exhausting all this isn't it.
Sending everyone lots of love.

Hopeandfaith1990 · 13/10/2026 11:09

Hi @TammyinCork wishing you so much luck with your next step. I’ve heard really good things about the clinics in Greece. In ways they seem more advanced or progressive than UK ones.

@Deerdancer34 I’m so sorry about the results of your first round. It’s so incredibly difficult and feels so unfair when you’ve put so much work into getting to collection stage. Have the doctors got any ideas as to why it happened? It’s so exhausting 😭 sending love. X

@Hopeandfaith1990 The problem was I had a few follicles that raced ahead so they had to trigger early and then most of the eggs collected weren't mature enough. So I'm doing a priming cycle this month and then going to just take Meriofert and try for slower more gradual growth, in hope more get to the appropriate size and actually mature 🙏 It was an expensive test cycle and as I had 19 follicles responding, I don't think anyone was expecting 0...my complicated body I suppose.
How are you getting on with your little one 🥰

Hopeandfaith1990 · 18/10/2026 14:31

@Deerdancer34 I do remember being in a slightly similar position myself - consultant described them as race horses going around the course at different speeds! Obviously its good to have front runners but I remember the debate of when to trigger asyou obviously sacrifice some either way. I am so hopeful for your next cycle, now you know what happened with the first it sounds like they are reacting and responding well with a different protocol. It is frustrating when it doesn't work and they just want to do it exactly the same.

We are getting on well thank you, baby girl is 12 weeks. Crazy how time flies and every night I thank the stars for her and still can't believe she's real! Lots of love to you. xxx

@Hopeandfaith1990 Fingers crossed 🤞 I feel very impatient, hate waiting, I would like to get on with it!
Awww 12 weeks already, crazy how the time goes. I remember someone saying to me you are out of the newborn stage and that made me feel all emotional. But somebody else says it gets better and better as you go along and it truly does - watching them grow and develop all the different skills 🥰 I still think the same with my little girl, I don't think it goes away when you've been through what we go through! Xx

Hi lovely people.
Can I ask for some advice?
I have been on Dr Sharts protocol since March, Hydroxy, Aspirin and Progesterone from Ovulation. I was pregnant when I first met him but obviously that didn’t progress. I have recently had an appointment with him, check up, my next appointment is in March. I was thinking that is another 5 months trying naturally before considering further options. I am on the medication due to auto immune disease he think may be causing losses. All my tests were normal. I am 39 and it’s taking me about a year to get pregnant in between each loss. I appreciate with recurrent loss things like IVF are not always successful as for us it’s retaining the pregnancy, but just the fact it’s taking me so long to conceive each time. Has anyone else been in this position? If I were younger I would be happier to keep trying for longer.
Thanks for reading x x x

Hello! My situation was similar although my tests did show high NK cells. I’d not conceived in a year (after my 5th MC) so started IVF. My first transfer failed but the second one worked and my daughter was born in July. I combined my IVF meds with Dr S’s recurrent MC protocol. X

@Waitingforthesunshine24 yep me! Couldn’t get pregnant or very sporadically and each time ended in a very early miscarriage… what changed for me was to do super ovulation with trigger (to get more mature eggs per cycle ). This alone didn’t work so it all changed when I started to use Preseed which helped my partner’s little guys to swim better to my eggs 😬 when I started doing these two things at the same time I was pretty much getting pregnant every single time ( I was in my early 40’s). Unfortunately I would still miscarry so I kept doing it but was added Prednisone and Hydroxy. And it worked i have a 12 weeks old baby now ☺️ I knew I couldn’t do IVF so I had to make it work that way so I tried every single combination possible. Don’t give up you will find your own way to get your baby 😊

Deerdancer34 · Yesterday 14:54

@CarpeDiem75 So you did SO and preseed?

@Waitingforthesunshine24 Hello I would suggest Superovulation or perhaps IVF. I went to Dr S after 3 losses and I'd say I conceived sporadically so SO helped to speed it up and now I have a 2yr old. I went back to the clinic to try for No2 and after a year of Superovulation, I unfortunately had no pregnancy so have now started IVF.

Waitingforthesunshine24 · Yesterday 18:16

Thanks all it’s given me food for thought! I am going to keep going until my appointment in March and then look into my options if I haven’t fallen by then x x

CarpeDiem75 · Yesterday 22:30

@Deerdancer34 that’s correct. Plus Dr shehata protocol. Have you tried SO?
@Waitingforthesunshine24fingers crossed it will happen indeed before March so you don’t have to worry about it ☺️
