Hey @LibbyOTV at 5 months in I think the very best advice I could give you is try not to let any panic set in. You are WELL within the normal time frame for TTC and unless you have a known condition that can make fertility harder it's best not to fall too far into anxiety around medicalising the process at this stage.
Please be reassured too, that despite this thread running for over a year now, we have had many women dropping in to chat who caught quickly and moved on, several of our long standing members are now actually pregnant and several of us have been pregnant and sadly suffered loss, or recurring loss. Even as a small sample size, we have nearly all slotted into the category of pregnant within 2 years - even if we didnt all have successful pregnancies. Those of us still trying have all managed to find fertility help too - stage one is speaking to your GP and getting bloods taken at two different points in your cycle.
The best tip I can give you is to have sex as much as possible, even when you don't think it's likely you are ovulating. Your ovulation day shifts around even in a normal healthy woman! For me the hardest months can be kicking myself when I realise I missed the window. I hate missing that tiny window 😂 and even being a few days out means you have lowered your chances sometimes to zero which is hard to take! If you make sure you cover all eventualities you're giving yourself a better chance and I think it helps mentally too knowing you did all you can.
I have a love/hate relationship with OPK 😂 I've decided personally never to use them again as I get too stressed and find simply covering all days is better, but it can lead to stress over not knowing your exact DPO. For me that's the lesser of the two evils, but I think try it for at least a cycle or two to see how you find them!
