@MocktailMe love the sequel! Definitely hope it’s the one where we all get our babies! Good luck today!

Thisisouryear2025 · 05/06/2025 09:01

Can I join please? 36 years old, 6 months TTC and no luck… desperate to have our baby (babies) soon! Losing the will to live and feel so alone. Wishing everyone luck and love on this tough old train!! X

MocktailMe · 05/06/2025 09:28

Absolutely you can join us. Feel free to have a read through the old thread to catch up. We've got pregnancies, IVF, natural trying...all sorts and lots of advice.

Update for you ladies - HSG done and my remaining tube is showing as clear. I'm cautiously optimistic about this and ready to get back on the TTC train.

Thisisouryear2025 · 05/06/2025 09:35

Thank you!! I think I did read your original thread and saw that a few of you had conceived and some still trying and some going through IVF.
how long have you been trying for? Happy your remaining tube is good that is great news!!!
I know I shouldn’t be pessimistic at 6 months of trying and it can be insulting to some but I do struggle to be positive. I need a boost really of ladies that haven’t given up or have got their BFP!!

Waitingformiracle · 05/06/2025 09:44

@Thisisouryear2025 welcome!! I completely understand how hard it can feel at 6 months, I have been there (twice!) and it’s tough. Have you had any initial investigations done? At 36 you would be entitled to start that after 6 months.

@MocktailMe congratulations on a successful HSG! They say some people have boosted fertility after one so I’ll have everything crossed for you!

Thisisouryear2025 · 05/06/2025 10:11

@Waitingformiracle Thank you so much!! Yes I’ve had all my bloods done & everything has come back good, I have low AMH for my age, (in the 10th percentile for my age bracket) but still qualify currently for NHS IVF if needed. I had a scan two years ago and had a good AFC & apparently really good ovaries and a very healthy lining. My OH sperm came back great. So I’m like why has it not happened?

how are you getting on?

Waitingformiracle · 05/06/2025 10:49

@Thisisouryear2025 well sounds like everything is good, sometimes it just takes a bit of time! With my first pregnancy which I did end up losing, it happened after 7 months, so don’t lose hope! I’m doing fine, I’ve just completed my first egg retrieval so waiting for some results and will hopefully transfer later in the summer!

Tater05 · 05/06/2025 11:05

Loving the new thread name! @MocktailMe that's great news about your HSG, welcome back aboard the train 😆Cautiously optimistic is a good mindset to have.

Welcome @Thisisouryear2025, sorry you've been feeling the struggle. I think I felt worse around the 6-10 month mark, but after that my mindset changed a bit and I started to accept that it's going to be a longer journey. It's great that you've had your tests come back all ok - sometimes it really does just take some time even when everything looks fine. I've found my body has taken a while to respond to the supplements I've been taking but now fingers crossed it feels like things are moving in the right direction. It's also good that you've already had some tests done, there can be so much waiting around for them all so you're already on the right track.

Thisisouryear2025 · 05/06/2025 11:21

@Waitingformiracle yay that’s amazing for you!! How wonderful the ball is actually rolling and you are that bit closer to your BFP! I’m so sorry you lost your first pregnancy, life is so bloody cruel and it’s just not fair. Out of interest, did you have any issues preventing another natural pregnancy? I do agree, sometimes it just takes a bit of time, I’m not overly patient which is making the journey worse for me I know. I did try a few years back with an ex for over a year, spent the entire time with him telling me it was my fault as he had two children from a previous marriage, to eventually get teated and to find out he had a non existent sperm count. To which the fertility specialist told us we had found our issue and would never conceive naturally. Something in my heart told me he wasn’t the right guy so we parted ways. But that experience has traumatised me, I don’t have the same level of faith as I did the first time round despite test results and feeling so much happier in my relationship. I just hope it doesn’t go on for much longer, my OH is desperate too now. Last month was the first month he said to me he is actually quite sad we aren’t pregnant yet!

Thisisouryear2025 · 05/06/2025 11:23

@Tater05 Thank you for this! I agree I think I just need to hold out and give it some time. We’ve said we will give it to my 37th birthday, which will be about 16 months of trying naturally and if no luck go to IVF due to our ages. I think like you I’ve started to accept this is not going to be a quick fix for us and we need to just try to keep going and remain positive which is so hard. That’s really great about the supplements helping. What are you taking now? Have you been trying for a long time?

PearOpal · 05/06/2025 17:20

Thanks for the new thread @MocktailMe and glad to hear the HSG went well. I’m due to ovulate any day now so gearing up for the dreaded TWW any time now. Meanwhile also did an ovarian reserve test and waiting to see the results of that. Welcome to our new additions! We definitely span the spectrum of experiences and timing here and are happy to have you and to share.

Thisisouryear2025 · 05/06/2025 18:41

@PearOpal Ah thank you that’s lovely! 🩷

p0ppyx · 05/06/2025 19:59

I would love to join this! I am 27, on cycle 7 of trying for baby number 1. Had some testing last month and everything good with us both so no concerns. 9dpo today, been spotting quite a bit since 6dpo which is unusual for me and getting pinchy sensations. Hope everyone who’s got their BFP has healthy and happy pregnancies and sending baby dust to all still waiting 🩷

KT199 · 05/06/2025 20:56

AHH good news about the remaining tube @MocktailMe. It least it provides you with the option of trying again naturally, should you wish.

welcome newbies 😊 good luck in your TTC journeys. I hope we can provide some valuable support where needed!

For those who haven’t read the previous thread I am currently 12w5d pregnant but it wasn’t the straightest forward ride to get here. I had a MMC last year which is a very cruel thing to go through as my body thought everything was fine even though the baby had stopped growing.. finding out at a scan when you thought everything was fine was soul destroying. The removal of the pregnancy was also complicated with multiple attempts with surgery and medication and a very long drawn out process spanning over a few month. But the silver lining is to be where we are today, it just makes pregnancy that little more scary having had the past experience. However we are trying to remain positive now that 2025 is the year we meet our baby as we’re due December!

MocktailMe · 05/06/2025 21:18

@KT199 hey :) yeah we have decided we will try naturally now and if nothing happens by November we will move to IVF. I feel like I have hope for the first time in months. It's really alleviated some fear - I'd been so terrified to even try again as was convinced I would be certain to have ectopic forever. Of course, now I'm simply scared I won't manage to get pregnant again in the first place. One tube is definitely lowering my odds, but even so, with the HSG done today ahead of ovulation there's no reason to be pessimistic immediately.

I can't believe you're already past the 12 week mark. It will be Christmas before we know it. I last conceived in January which feels in some ways years ago, and in others only 5 minutes. You deserve a lovely happy Christmas after last year and I've got everything crossed for the healthiest pregnancy from here on out for you.

@MocktailMe loving the new name!

We got this ladies!

My advice to newbies is understanding this is a marathon not a sprint.

I’m feeling much better now knowing we’re going into IVF and it’s taking the pressure off. This weeks ‘sex week’ as I’ve coined it and we’ve just been having a laugh and getting on with it.

I’m trying to just trust the process and not get too invested in the outcome and seeing ivf as like level 2 of TTC rather than the stork.

Thanks to everyone I know I’m not alone in this rollercoaster!

Thisisouryear2025 · 06/06/2025 20:11

@KT199 I am so sorry you had to go through what you do that sounds so cruel and unfair and soul destroying as you say! You deserve this healthy pregnancy and to take your baby home this year. X

KTB34 · 07/06/2025 17:19

Hello friends and new friends 🩵

Sounds like I’ve missed a lot!

@MocktailMe glad to hear your HSG went well and your tube is clear I know you were worried about this !

@Waitingformiracle please keep us updated on the egg retrieval. I hope this wasn’t too brutal for you

@KT199 so pleased to hear your 12 week scan went well, I know it’s very hard to wait for this. Hopefully things will progress nicely.

@CharLdn congrats on taking the next step.

Sounds like some really positive updates !

Welcome new people, this group is really really helpful ❤️

Latest update from me, officially hit 3rd trimester today 🩵 baby boy is growing well. The most anxious 28 weeks of my life. Grateful for each day he gets stronger !

MocktailMe · 07/06/2025 20:04

Wow @KTB34 you are getting so close now. I can't even imagine. I hope the anxiety eases a bit now - the longer you go the safer everything is for baby ❤️

We've TTC every day since the HSG I think I've either ovulated today or will tomorrow and we will try again tomorrow too. I'm extremely hopeful that with a cleared tube this month will be one I catch.

CharLdn · 10/06/2025 19:07

@MocktailMe we’ll be two week wait buddys. I think I ovulated at the weekend but didn’t appear to get an lh peak..

I’m post hycosy so apparently increased chances. We’ve not managed to TTC every day but days 8, 10, 12, 14 and I normally ovulate around day 14/15 so hopefully we’ve covered the main days.

I have to say having ivf in mind it’s definitely taken the pressure off and we’ve not been taking things so seriously so maybe this is the ‘just relax’ feeling people talk about… lol (I’m not a relaxed person at all)

Ive been listening to the BFN podcast which I’m enjoying!

PearOpal · 10/06/2025 21:42

@CharLdn glad your hycosy went well and that you’re feeling positive about how things are trending. I’ll admit I haven’t looked at IVF much at the moment but if we still haven’t seen any success by the fall I’ll probably start digging into it. Fingers crossed for you this month!

I’m 3 or 4 DPO but have lots to keep me distracted this go around so hopefully I can avoid symptom spotting and early test - ha probably not but I’ll give it a go.

MocktailMe · 11/06/2025 12:24

I'm definitely in the waiting zone now. We did days 15 (day of HSG) 16 17 18 19 20. I haven't done LH strips but I think I ovulated either CD 17 or 18. I'm generally not too far off the mark these days, but I've only had 2 cycles due to pregnancies since December so they're a little all over the place, hence me continuing a few extra days just in case!

Id actually like to now not test for at least three weeks, but due to the ectopic risk I can't wait that long. As previously I've had early pregnancy bleeding that could be mistaken for a period, but was actually ectopic bleeding. So whether I bleed or not I'll be testing to be sure, I'll probably test the first time on CD 28 which is a week today.

I'm in a similar boat in that we are now having 3 cycles of trying after which we will move to IVF (I have the referral). So I do feel like some pressure is off. What will be will be... My anxiety now is less around GETTING pregnant, and more around having a viable safe pregnancy.

OP posts:
CharLdn · 11/06/2025 13:44

@MocktailMe totally understandable with your history - my new paranoia is we haven’t had enough sex but tbh neither of us can be bothered. I had CM today so might go for today (day 18) just incase?!

I keep on getting my hopes up in the TWW so I’m trying to be conservative with expectations and focus on just having a normal summer before IVF.

Still no idea when it will be the doctor say we should hear in 3-4 weeks… it’s been 1.5

And now we wait…

CharLdn · 11/06/2025 13:45

@PearOpal how are you with the waiting? I definitely think distractions are good!
