Hello we’ve just started TTC baby number 2 and I wondered if there was anyone else in a similar situation who fancied supporting each other? Everyone very welcome, baby number 1 or 100! I just remember how nice it was to have people to share crazy symptom spotting and commiserate unsuccessful cycles with last time. I’ve joined a few other threads and whilst they seem really friendly and supportive it feels a bit like I’m crashing a party where everyone else already knows each other so thought I’d try starting my own thread in the hope of finding someone else who felt the same.

@therandomUNI was the same! I couldn't focus on anything else haha. I was always checking the forums and symptom spotting.

@rainbowsnackthat makes sense! I cramped for a few days after I ovulated. Are you checking your peak using ovulation tests?

@all- Where are you all in your cycles now, and any symptom updates?

Not currently, it's our first cycle trying. Been tracking my cycle changes for ages though.

SleepySkyRat · 14/07/2025 21:12

@PurpleSpottedLeopard thank you, I hope it’ll regulate quick too! Finally getting some milky CM so hoping that’s a sign that we’re moving towards EWCM! It’s lovely to be able to follow each others journeys and support each other through all the not-knowing.

therandomUN · 17/07/2025 14:22

I’m 5dpo. Had bad 💩 this morning and really bad shooting pains in my left side low down.

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 18/07/2025 13:22

Urgh one of those days. Met up with some friends and their toddlers at the park this morning and one of them told us that they were pregnant. Genuinely delighted for them but out of the group of us I was the only one not pregnant or with a new baby and just felt really left out and sad. One of those conversations where you know what’s coming from the start but have to force yourself to keep smiling.

Ahh bless you @PurpleSpottedLeopard. It will be your day one day. You’ve been wonderfully supportive of everyone on here including me, take comfort in the fact that you’re a great person!!

Marvelftw · 19/07/2025 07:18

Hey everyone, am joining in as this is my first month TTC after a while. I fell pregnant before in March but unfortunately my partner and I received some sad news when we were a bit later on. Have just now felt up for trying again even though my periods returned a month ago. It’s been a whirlwind trying to get my head around taking vitamins and testing using strips again but am hoping that since I know what I’m doing more this time things will be a bit easier. Would love to have a spring/summer baby!

therandomUN · 21/07/2025 08:37

Yesterday I thought I saw an absolute squinter at 8DPO. Naturally I woke up at the crack of dawn this morning to take another test (took two just to be sure!)

Still faint but visible to the naked eye!

These are Wondfo tests which are supposed to be quite good but going to go to Boots later and get a few more of a different brand.

I suddenly feel a bit scared!! Is that normal? I’ve literally wanted this for years and fantasised about it non stop and now it’s happened it all feels a bit like an anti climax 😂 Maybe it’s a defence mechanism?!

@therandomUNcongratulations!

I was scared too! (still am). So think it's totally normal.

RadishTea · 22/07/2025 09:23

Congratulations @therandomUN ! I think it is totally understandable to feel a bit anticlimactic at this point, especially if it has taken a while. Tbh, it would be kind of deluded if you didn't have some doubts/nervousness at some point during the process.

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 22/07/2025 11:46

@therandomUN that’s really sweet, thank you. I think all the old feelings from TTC first time round have just come back a lot earlier than I hoped they would. I’m just being silly.

Those lines like really promising!! Keeping everything crossed that you got a nice clear line this morning. I think it’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous too, however much you’ve planned for it it’s still suddenly very real.

Hi @Marvelftw I’m so sorry to hear about your sad news. Hoping for a lovely spring/summer baby for you!

Hello!
Hoping I can join in 😊TTC #2 since January. Am battling with really irregular cycles (finally got my period after 77 days! cycle prior was only 26 days - all over the place!) and my partner working abroad. Not really sure we’ve had a proper chance to give it a go but he will be home now until September so thinking surely I’ll ovulate before then 😂
Excited to get going but apprehensive about a let down as not sure much is happening at the moment with my cycles being the way they are!

GiraffesAtThePark · 22/07/2025 15:46

@Whatdouthink08 I’m the same with irregular cycles. 77 days must have been a pain to wait for! I’m on the shorter end. When I was trying for my son I had some as short as 18 days then it’d go 32 or something.

GiraffesAtThePark · 22/07/2025 15:50

@Marvelftw Sorry to hear about your sad news. Spring/summer baby would be great 😊 Hope we’re lucky!

SleepySkyRat · 25/07/2025 21:59

FInally started some spotting today... feels like its the start of my first AF since coming off the pill. Have mixed feelings about it all.... was stupidly hopeful that we'd conceive first cycle even though I know thats so unlikely. So feeling a bit sad but also relieved that its here so I can start to actually track my cycle again.

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 28/07/2025 11:29

Hello @Whatdouthink08 really hope that the timings work out for you!

@SleepySkyRat fingers crossed that AF materialised properly for you so that you can work out where you are in your cycles. Hope you’re ok though, even when the chances are low it’s still sad to know that it hasn’t miraculously happened.

@therandomUN how are you getting on? I hope you’ve had some lovely strong lines now.

OP posts:
therandomUN · 28/07/2025 17:31

@PurpleSpottedLeopard thank you for thinking of me. Lines are progressing every day which is good. Boobs started hurting as of yesterday (4w2d) and I’ve felt tired and sluggish! I can’t remember if I said before but I had an HG pregnancy years and years ago that ended in termination and I’m dreading that it’s going to kick off again. I feel like it’s hard to get excited when you know what’s about to come is the worst thing you’ve been though! But I’m just taking it day by day and enjoying it while I feel normal.

How are you feeling? 🫶

SleepySkyRat · 28/07/2025 21:13

@PurpleSpottedLeopard thank you! Yes AF arrived after a couple of days of weird spotting. Yeah it was mixed feelings but now I know where I am and it was only a 31 day cycle which is quite good for a first one after the pill (some people take over 60 days!). Hope everything is going ok with you?

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 29/07/2025 08:46

I’m so sorry to hear about your previous pregnancy @therandomUN, I really hope that it’s a different experience for you this time.

@SleepySkyRat a 31 day cycle is really good for coming off the pill!

I’m feeling even more ridiculous about being upset last week as I got my own positive yesterday morning! Incredibly shocked as it took so long last time and it’s definitely taking some time to get my head around it as I was expecting it to take just as long again. I keep alternating between being really excited and absolutely terrified that everything is going to change, particularly for my toddler who had absolutely no say in this.

AF arrived yesterday so I'm out for this month.

SleepySkyRat · 29/07/2025 19:27

@rainbowsnack same here, hopefully next month!
