Just starting TTC

Hello we’ve just started TTC baby number 2 and I wondered if there was anyone else in a similar situation who fancied supporting each other? Everyone very welcome, baby number 1 or 100! I just remember how nice it was to have people to share crazy symptom spotting and commiserate unsuccessful cycles with last time. I’ve joined a few other threads and whilst they seem really friendly and supportive it feels a bit like I’m crashing a party where everyone else already knows each other so thought I’d try starting my own thread in the hope of finding someone else who felt the same.

@PurpleSpottedLeopard I’ll join you! Currently TTC 1 - started trying October, now waiting on the doctors as it looks like I might have PCOS from a private fertility scan I had done x

DaisyChain505 · 02/06/2025 11:23

Stopped taking my pill in Dec, still haven’t had a period.

waiting on a referral for investigation.

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 02/06/2025 11:53

Hi @Em3009 and @DaisyChain505 lovely to have you both here. Sorry that you’ve both been having difficulties I hope you get the answers that you need soon.

Where did you get your scan done @Em3009 ? It took us over a year last time so I’m wondering if I need to be a bit more proactive this time about checking everything is ok.

I had it done at a local independent place close to me but had also considered window to the womb as they offer them too! I would totally recommend even if it just gives you piece of mind :) x

Lou12387 · 02/06/2025 12:59

Hi @PurpleSpottedLeopard I'll join too :)

Also TTC no2. Currently 5dpo so in the TWW - going to try and hold off testing for as long as possible but not sure I'll be very good at that!

Where abouts are you in your cycle? x

Abie04 · 02/06/2025 13:30

Hi! I'm ttc #2 too. I stopped taking my pills last month on the 10th, had a withdrawal bleed so basicaly this is my first cycle.
Currently 4 dpo according to my apps as i was not tracking anything.

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 02/06/2025 13:40

@Lou12387 currently in the TWW too! 6 or 7 DPO, we were away so I didn’t track this time. Also trying very hard not to test early…

Hi @Abie04 welcome 🙂

Can I join you ladies…
Feel like I could do with a little support network around me for this one. We are going to start TTC we had a MMC at 12 weeks and I’m currently 10 days post surgery. So waiting to see if cycles come back to normal 🤞🏻
This will be my 4th and our 3rd together…. The baby we lost was a surprise pregnancy but its made us now feel like maybe one more would compete us if it happens again.

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 02/06/2025 15:48

Of course @CTTat! You’re very welcome. I’m so sorry to hear about your recent loss.

Thank you @PurpleSpottedLeopard

Anyone symptom spotting yet? I've been all kind of things since yesterday. Had pain or pulling in both sides of my pelvis, very sore breasts its becoming uncomfortable and today i started feeling dizzy when i tried to stand. I hope its a good sign.

SpeedyBulletTrain · 02/06/2025 20:36

Hello! We're in the 2ww on our first cycle trying for #2. How old is your first? Our DD is 2!

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 03/06/2025 10:57

@Abie04 I told myself I wouldn’t symptom spot this time and just wait to miss a period but I’ve been absolutely exhausted the past two days and have had similar pulling pains to the ones you describe so that plan has clearly gone out of the window! It’s so hard not to…

Hi @SpeedyBulletTrain our little one is 2 as well! So many people I was pregnant with the first time have either had a second or are pregnant again now so it seems like an age gap lots of people aim for!

If TTC doesn't take that long our DD should be 3 before DC2 would be born, I feel like that would be the perfect gap for us. Like you, lots of the families we know with kids DDs age either have had a second or are expecting!

Abie04 · 03/06/2025 13:04

@PurpleSpottedLeopard l know! Its easier said than done, but took another look at my calendar and saw that the symptoms started right around the time i was ovulating and some after, so its probably too early for anything to happen.

CTTat · 03/06/2025 14:49

I’m doing the opposite type of symptom spotting 🤣 I’m looking for all my pregnancy symptoms to be gone and for a sign I might start ovulating….
But I’m going to be fully invested in all your symptom spotting while I can’t do any of my own!

CTTat · 03/06/2025 14:51

Is anyone taking any supplements or trying any other kinds of magical baby making spells?

3 years would be a lovely gap as your older one will completely get new baby… old enough to understand a bit more

PurpleSpottedLeopard · 03/06/2025 21:23

Our little one will hopefully be 3 when dc2 is born too @SpeedyBulletTrain and I completely agree it feels like it would be a really good age gap for our family.

No I haven’t taken anything yet. I did use the pregnacare before conception vitamins last time though and I should probably get some ordered so thanks for the reminder! I oddly feel less prepared for TTC this time but it did take over my life a bit the first time so perhaps that’s a good thing…
Have you got anything in mind to try?

Hi all! I'm DPO 4 - this is my second month trying. We only DTD twice as LH peak was a lot sooner than expected (CD9).
No symptoms other than normal luteal phase cramping.
Really struggling not to obsess 😅

It only takes once… sending lots of baby dust your way ✨✨✨

Hi just started TTC #2. I've missed this cycle window as had my coil removed last week. I think it's so helpful having that support group around. Last used mumsnet when trying for my 1st over 7 years ago and stayed in touch with a lovely group for a few years that all had babies around July that year so thought I'd rejoin again 🥰
