I mean I don't know how long I will have to wait for the pelvic scan 🤣 but atleast GP are doing things their end, which I've been surprised about. Have you been waiting long for your results? I think I'm still going to pay to get my progesterone checked 7dpo. But some of you have said about testing at home? I've not heard of this x

I have had them before (but not for fertility) and I don’t think it was too long a wait!

My blood test was last week so not waiting long, I keep refreshing the NHS app 🤣 I’ve had the hormone fertility bloods before so not expecting any surprises, but know it’s just part of the process. I’ve got a private scan coming up, but I imagine the NHS might want to do their own. Maybe I can just share the report if I get one?
yes you can pay for the 7DPO progesterone test, I’ve done it through Superdrug (you do it at home and post offf) which was easy, and I could more accurately get the day - the difficulty with gp I found is you have to book the blood test in advance but my ovulation day varies, so it might end up being the wrong day! But I think nhs might only accept the nhs test for a referral?

Oh brilliant I will look into the superdrug one then. I really just want to check this progesterone as I'm still breastfeeding and had 2 early miscarriages..I want to see what my levels are! Atleast I can then go to my doctors with it or the epu if I am blessed go fall pregnant again. Here in the UK they just seem really difficult with their views on progesterone and prescribing it from what i have read.
Yes..I know what you mean about trying to book in for the right day! My ovulation differs by a day or 2. And also my luteal phase has been creeping up (which is great, as I'm taking supplements for this!) Just not ideal when trying to guess is it x

There’s also the Proov pdg test strips, I’ve heard mixed reviews, but you do 4 tests from 7DPO which is meant to give a better picture of progesterone than the one off blood test. I’ve bought the kit but not yet tried it! Proov also partner with Plan Your Baby, I’ve seen others say you can do the probs strips then book a consultation to discuss progesterone and get a prescription. Sometimes easier than going via the gp (as you say re nhs and progesterone, it varies a lot!). https://planyourbaby.co.uk/proov-consultations/

also on progesterone, with the GP I found if your result is below 30 they want to retest, to confirm its low and in case you got the dates wrong, which seems sensible but then it’s waiting a whole another month which feels hard when TTC is already so much waiting. Finally (I’ve been thinking a lot about progesterone lately!!), sometimes you might have an ok progesterone level on 7DPO, but it falls quickly, so it’s not always the best indicator of sufficient progesterone, hence helpful to look at the big picture ie. Luteal phase length, luteal phase spotting etc.

Thanks @MayaBthis is our second month TTC(on cycle day 2 atm so literally just starting second month) and going to chat to DP about getting some tests booked in if it doesn’t happen this month as it looks like it can take a long time!

@Muddysocks1and @ChaE05ive ordered the proov strips to try this month - will be a while until I’m there in my cycle (on CD2 today) but will report back on what I find if you’d all like?

Oo this is a great tip! (Although trying not to spend too much on this and have already forked out for proceive and ovulation strips this cycle so might leave it till next month)

I get spotting a few days before AF properly starts which is meant to be a sign of low progesterone

Ec2808 · 21/05/2025 14:57

well this is going to be a long month 🙂

Morning everyone.. after my blood tests results yesterday I had message from the GP saying they were all fine and now they have referred me to the hospital to have a pelvic ultrasound scan and also sent a link to book in for extra bloods to be taken day 1-4 my cycle, for the fertility clinic. I guess I'm quite surprised at how efficient they have been as i was looking into paying for these. Hope everyone is okay x

I had my tests today (CD5), do you think I will need another set?

They didn’t tell me to book in for any particular day when they booked them…

When I went the gp seemed to have no idea when they were all meant to be! I thought they were meant to be day 2-5 so that should be fine

Oh god me too.. I’m scared to add up how much I’ve spent, with supplements and tests (LH/HCG) and private testing and books and god knows what else. I didn’t mind because I thought I’d spend the money and get a baby but it still hasn’t happened yet and every month I seem to add something else

peanutForever · 21/05/2025 18:30

Ugh started my prog alternative today and my mood swings are wild i just want to cry constantly, i HATE the luteul phase i really do and ttc has clearly shot my cortisol through the roof

I’m drinking and going to the pub way less though so must have saved a fair bit there!

£20 to identify a problem is not much in the long run, especially if it can be rectified easily…

So true!! Ditto re drinking less which much save money.

Worth checking, because mine tried to do them all inc progesterone on the same day which is definitely not right! Most of them should be day 2-5, and progesterone 7DPO ☺️

Hi ladies, been off here a few days to get my head together ready for a new cycle!

Got a letter in the post that for a ultrasound on the 5th June and got a gaencology appointment on the 18th but I’m going to call them tomorrow as I’m worried that my period messed up and the days they was done wasn’t on the day 2-5 or the day 21! Had the GP hormone tests and they was all fine accept prolactin which was slightly high! Worried they will cancel the fertility appointment now as the days all messed up but at least I’ve got my ultrasound. Has anybody got an experience with this? Having it done in the emergency department at the hospital.

Im CD 7 today so coming around to fertile window on the weekend!

Ec2808 · 22/05/2025 07:51

I wouldn’t worry too much if you’ve got a gynae appt now, I think the blood tests are a bit of a tick box to get the referral! You could always mention it at your appt

Muddysocks1 · 22/05/2025 08:14

I’m CD9 so just started OPKs for this cycle.

jelliebean9 · 22/05/2025 08:32

Hey everyone. I think I ovulated at some point yesterday or overnight, DS has been poorly with an ear infection so we haven’t DTD since Sunday night. Have I completely got no chance this cycle? If DS settles this evening, we might get a chance to DTD, but is it now too late? My EWCM has gone and become more watery. I think I’ve not got a chance this month now. Surely DTD on Sunday was too long before 😩

Ec2808 · 22/05/2025 09:11

@jelliebean9 maybe not sperm can survive up to 5 days 😊

You are still in with a chance! Do you defo know you have ovulated? Have you tested with opks? Dtd tonight anyway if you can x

ChaE05 · 22/05/2025 10:59

@jelliebean9also the STRESS of making sure my son will get down in his cot so we can actually have some time together is a nightmare. He just always wants to be with us in bed x
