Hi everyone, I've been reading along but being a bit lurky I guess!

I just wanted to jump in to say to @MayaB isn't 4% normal? So 3% isn't really low as you put it, it's just outside the normal range, and might explain things taking so long (which i really feel for you for, especially when you feel age is against you too) but doesn't mean it won't happen. Hope they put the numbers into context for you when they gave you the results?

Ec2808 · 24/05/2025 20:09

@YKM2829i’m soo sorry but i don’t see anything maybe too early ?

SophieP89 · 24/05/2025 20:25

Hey! Just been catching up with this thread, got fingers crossed that there will be some BFPs this month!
I'm CD13 today, LH tests still very much negative, hoping something happens over the next few days 🤞 but trying not to obsess over this cycle.

Ec2808 · 24/05/2025 20:27

Hi girls, sorry I have missed so much, hope is eryone is OK ☺️

So much has happened for all on all fronts and crazy busy with work. My husband received his SA results a couple of days ago and I am confused and annoyed. All looked good except for his morphology (shape) which was only 3%. The GP told him it maybe something coincidental and to test again in 3 months! We have been ttc for 17 months now with no success. Obviously this 3% isn't new and it is clearly causing an issue. We don't have 3 whole months to wait, plus 2 weeks for results, plus God knows how long more for referral and then however long the treatment will last....we are both in our 40s. I just feel like crying 😢 He is already on some vitamins and garlic capsules. What can I do?
I am 9dpo today but I am certain I don't even need to test. 3% is very low....
Sorry for the rant 💐

Oh I’m sorry @MayaB this sounds stressful. My partner is having a semen analysis soon and I also read if it’s abnormal that want to retest in 3 months, seems standard but still v frustrating, especially not suggesting anything in the meantime?

peanutForever · 24/05/2025 20:37

@MayaBi just chat gpt this 3% thing and it says you can still conceive but i would have thought time is precious at this age so can understand the frustratjon. AI also gave lots of vitamin recommendations so maybe try those...also are you using conceive plus/preseed/mucinex? Maybe try those as they tend to help sperm out a bit x

hollyhocks2 · 24/05/2025 20:38

@bigbird1234 that video opened my eyes a bit - made me realise I haven't really properly researched what I could be doing, other than when I just sort of read something in passing. It makes so much sense to focus on optimising healthy habits in the luteal phase, even just simple things like drinking plenty of water!

And then I think to myself, surely I might as well pursue some blood tests as well, because there's not much point drinking an extra glass of water if my progesterone is on the floor! I would have loved to just trust in the universe for this process but here we are, TTC after loss is a different kettle of fish innit?!

Adca · 24/05/2025 23:01

Hi everyone, I thought I'd join you all on this thread.

I'm 34 and TTC baby #2. My first pregnancy - at 31 - happened very quickly but it's not happening so quickly this time which both worries and frustrates me!

Although I don't feel we need it, we're considering trying preseed because, why not, we might as well try something different and hope for the best 🤞🏼. I take folic acid, use Clearblue advanced fertility monitor to track ovulation and will start tracking BBT this month. I'm going to make a big effort to drink plenty of water, eat healthy etc etc.

I'm currently CD3 so early stages. Hoping June is our lucky month ✨. Good luck to all and thanks for such a supportive thread ❤️

Howspieduh · 25/05/2025 08:41

Hello all! Another one joining here.

Quite similar to you, @Adca 🙂 I'm 34, TTC #2 too. I concieved first cycle at 30 with my first. I concieved again last year 3rd cycle, but this ended in a MC in January. Took a little break as after having a natural MC, I had RPOC for a while (finally lost it all during my 2nd period after MC). I then avoided TTC as wanted to avoid a Xmas or January baby (as my son is a Jan baby!) so I'm ready to start again now as it'll be February earliest!

Currently CD10. OPKs are very low hormone today, which is normal for me. It'll suddenly go dark (or straight to static smiley from blank) on around CD13-15! I never get much warning.

peanutForever · 25/05/2025 10:51

@Adca@Howspieduhsimilar situation but i was 29 when i conceived DS, we missed the window completely last month and have barely BD this month/too early to catch so probs not our month this month either! 🥲

Ec2808 · 25/05/2025 11:05

@Adca@Howspieduh also similar situation conceived daughter on 2nd cycle when i was 31 now turning 33 in August and on cycle 4 after chemical in march.. fingers crossed for all of us! Also CD8 today…❤️🤞🏻

MayaB · 25/05/2025 11:06

Thank you so much girls 💗

4-14% is considered satisfactory but still not great and since my tests are textbook perfect, I am certain this 3% is the reason for us having no luck so far. I googled pregnancy success rates with 3% and it is generally rather low or it takes years.
I would have been a lot more relaxed if we were 10 yrs younger. ☺️
I expected the GP to at least recommend some supplements. I am not a fan of synthetic vitamins but we will just about do anything right now to help the sperm morphology 🙏 I googled Preseed but only the lubricant came up. Perhaps we will try Concieve Plus.

Adca · 25/05/2025 12:45

Hi @Howspieduh@peanutForever@Ec2808
Sorry to hear of your struggles. Lets hope for some positive news soon 🤞🏼✨

Adca · 25/05/2025 12:47

@MayaBlike you say, I think I would have expected more advice)recommendations given your situation. Sorry your GP wasn't more helpful. Wishing you lots of luck ❤️

Ec2808 · 25/05/2025 12:51

@Adcaexactly !! Positive vibes this month 🥰🤞🏻🤞🏻

Adca · 25/05/2025 13:31

FlyHighSky72 · 22/05/2025 18:18

ffs! So after my weirdly long cycle I’ve now had a beautiful 3 day period (like I was really pleased with it, nice and red, no pain - textbook style) but it seems to have stopped now - I’ve had 5 day periods and 28-29 day cycles for ages! What the heck is happening now I’ve started ttc!?!

@FlyHighSky72i'm having the same right now. Period started late on Thursday night, continued Friday and Saturday but not a speck today, absolutely nothing.
I usually have a full 5 days of period. Did yours return or was that it finished after your 3 days?

FlyHighSky72 · 25/05/2025 14:09

@Adcahad some pink cm on the 4th day but didn’t log that as I don’t think it counted - premom was ‘happy’ with my 3 day cycle so who knows!?

OP posts:
peanutForever · 25/05/2025 14:42

@FlyHighSky72was it heavy like a period by any chance? And could u have ovulated later??

FlyHighSky72 · 25/05/2025 14:48

@peanutForevernot really - it was very red blood and I had no pain at all which I was pleased about because you read that that’s how a period is meant to be if all your hormones are happy! I don’t think I ovulated later as I got a pretty strong peak (quick surge) which went right back down the next day. Why?

OP posts:
peanutForever · 25/05/2025 14:59

Was just hoping for you that you ovulated late and that it may have been implantation bleeding sighs. Ive had those type of periods for about a year now but they are 5/6 days long still but become quite light for the last 3 days

FlyHighSky72 · 25/05/2025 15:02

@peanutForeverah thanks! No I started testing at 10DPO and didn’t get a positive so nope - just a weird period I think

FlyHighSky72 · 25/05/2025 15:03

Feeling rather down about this ever happening for us today - not sure why. Just don’t feel like it’ll ever work! Probably not a good way of thinking - I get scared I’ll think out a baby and they won’t come because I’m being so grumpy

I really feel for you and I tottaly get it. I am normally a very cheerful and positive person but I have been really grumpy myself. Sometimes, it helps me to read or watch success stories. I also keep reminding myself that positive thinking is very important but I know it's not easy to think positive. 🫂

Ash2345f · 25/05/2025 15:24

Hey guys what do you think of this? Do you think that was my peak surely not I’m so confused with these tests…

Ec2808 · 25/05/2025 15:26

@Ash2345fthats not your peak! The line has to be as dark or darker than the control line.. keep testing these all look very low
