Thanks for making a new thread, fingers crossed for Jan/Feb babies for us all! I’ve started using the premom app and ovulation tests this month, I was using clearblue before.

Present 🙋🏼‍♀️

GrizzlyTheBear · 30/04/2025 10:46

Thanks for the thread @SureLook

Where are you all at in your cycles? I've lost track!
I'm expecting to ovulate today or tomorrow.

Clara202 · 30/04/2025 10:56

@GrizzlyTheBear CD9 here, would expect to ovulate on CD12/13.

HopefulCove · 30/04/2025 11:19

Hi again everyone! 👋
I’m cycle day 8. I ovulate late in the month, I think usually around cycle day 17-19 so still a few days away from baby dancing window! I don’t know why I feel positively optimistic this month… I’m due to ovulate literally the day before we go on holiday (which is a tad annoying that it didn’t fall on the holiday) so going to try and DTD as much as possible the weekend before we go 🤞🏻

SureLook · 30/04/2025 11:24

@Onwardsandupwards2025 same. I'm using easy@home and the Premom app.

Hi 👋🏻 @Clara202

@GrizzlyTheBear I'm on CD10 and using the SMEP this month.

@HopefulCove I'm the same this month for some reason. I'm feeling much more optimistic. Maybe it's the good weather 😂

I’m on day 12, I think I usually ovulate about day 13-14 but today my lines have got darker but not at peak yet. I’m going to test again this evening.

I definitely think the nice weather makes me feel more optimistic too 🙂

I am cycle day 14 - but my cycles are longer than average so I think im due to ovulate next week - I am testing everyday but its still pretty faint at the moment!

Muddysocks1 · 01/05/2025 07:33

Hi all, I was on the last thread early on but ducked out as had a chemical. First ever Bfp so I’m hoping it could happen again. 1DPO today. Going to try and forget about it as much as I can until period due. I’ve tried to reduce alcohol and read drinking in luteal phase reduce chances but I’ve got a couple of family/social things this weekend which will make it hard to avoid! Think I might say I’m not drinking because I’m trying to lose weight 😬 I just don’t want to rouse suspicion when it’s been tough TTC.

GrizzlyTheBear · 01/05/2025 08:33

Hi @Muddysocks1 I remember you. I'm really sorry you had a miscarriage, it sucks massively. I hope you are doing okay. The alcohol is hard to avoid isn't it - the last thing you want is for people to think you're actually pregnant already. I'm always offering to be the driver but that doesn't always work!

SureLook · 01/05/2025 12:06

Hi @Muddysocks1 nice to see you here! That's interesting about drinking alcohol during your luteal phase. Mine seems to hear shorter since my MMC. I don't really drink much anymore but I'll definitely avoid during LP. I find telling people you've got something on early the next morning is a good excuse for not drinking. People need to bloody mind their own business!

Thanks @SureLook and @GrizzlyTheBear. Absolutely would be awful if someone thought I was pregnant - I’m thinking of saying I’m trying to lose weight or for general health and add in “not pregnant btw” which is true!

SureLook · 01/05/2025 19:28

@Muddysocks1 good point, the truth is always a good shout!

I’m finding myself and my husband are giving up so much in this journey, things on hold financially as we don’t know if we need to have a fertility pot prepared, no coffee, no alcohol, reading about how we need to on Mediterranean diets, pineapples, Brazil nuts, pomegranate, supplement after supplement…how do other people go out get drunk and get pregnant? Why can’t that be us 😂

SureLook · 02/05/2025 06:26

@Clara202 I know what you mean. It can feel like your life is on hold a little bit. I'm trying to still plan things and live life but it can be all consuming. How long have you been TTC for?

OP posts:
Clara202 · 02/05/2025 07:58

@SureLook 9 months TTC #1

SureLook · 02/05/2025 10:07

@Clara202 I'm cycle 3 TTC #2. I've told myself if we have nothing by September, which will be six months TTC, then we're gonna book in with the GP and go from there. Having a little bit of a plan has relaxed me somewhat.

Clara202 · 04/05/2025 15:46

@SureLook when do you take the photos of the opks? How many minutes? I’ve never had the control line as dark as the test line!

SureLook · 04/05/2025 16:02

@Clara202 I set a timer for eight minutes and take the picture then. I find it's not quite dry enough at five minutes but you can't read it past ten minutes. It was trial and error for me at the start. I drink nothing or very little if I can manage it and hold my urine for at least three hours. That test was after no liquid and a four hour hold. The darker line came up straight away also.

OP posts:
Clara202 · 04/05/2025 16:23

@SureLook that’s a good idea, I stopped putting them into the app because the results were a bit all over the place probably as I was putting them in at various times. I’ll try the 8 minute timer method! This is how they look now, the last one was about 20 minutes ago. It actually looks almost as dark for once!

@Clara202 oh wow, great progress. It's nearly there 👏🏻

GrizzlyTheBear · 04/05/2025 19:04

@SureLook hooray! Nearly in the TWW 🥳 Definitely the best bit of the cycle!
Looking good too @Clara202 . I don't do OPKs, does that mean you'll ovulate tomorrow?

I'm 4dpo, but having a slow rise chart this month, slower than my normal anyway. I suppose it's fine, I have no idea 🤷 Would like a good jump tomorrow though.

Onwardsandupwards2025 · 04/05/2025 19:05

@SureLook thats such a good peak!! I think my highest was 1.2 something. I’ve tried to track quite a bit this month, unfortunately we’ve had a few things going on so I don’t think we DTD enough around my fertile days. I feel like I’ll be out this month but still hoping 🤞

SureLook · 04/05/2025 19:10

@GrizzlyTheBear this is my first cycle using OPKs. Yes, it means you're likely to ovulate within the next 12-36 hours but it's usually withing 24 hours. I've tested again and it's starting to come down so definitely my peak. Do you track BBT? I've never done that!

@Onwardsandupwards2025 that was after no liquids and a four hour old. I had to adjust how much water I was drinking. You can only do what you can do. It's a lot of pressure. We were meant to BD on Friday according to the SMEP but we had an argument over cleaning the kitchen 🙃
