@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 aww, I'm sorry. The due dates and milestones are hard. Will you mark it in any way?
I was due in January too but I'm definitely mourning my August baby more. Even though I'm pregnant again I do think I should have a five month old with me. It's hard!

Hi @Clara202 & @GrizzlyTheBear how are you both doing?x

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 21/03/2026 20:02

Well hi!
I'm fine thanks, everything ok at the moment. I've forgotten exactly how far along I am but maybe coming up for 16 weeks? No symptoms at the moment thank goodness.
How are you? I've forgotten when you are due! 🙈 Are you struggling with this one or okay so far?

SureLook · 22/03/2026 11:34

@GrizzlyTheBear no symptoms for you? You usually get really bad sickness, don't you? Hopefully you're escaping that this time 🤞🏻
I'm due the 27th of April. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. It has flown by since Christmas. I'm starting to get big and heavy and uncomfortable now. Second pregnancy with a toddler hits different!

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 22/03/2026 13:13

@SureLook wow, so close to the end! At least you will not be huge and uncomfortable when the warmer weather comes, phew. April is a lovely month for a baby.
I was sick and tired and all the first trimester things, but it all went away by 13 weeks thankfully, and I'm in that blissful phase where you aren't actually sure if you're really pregnant 🤣 Unfortunately it's a short phase...

SureLook · 22/03/2026 16:36

@GrizzlyTheBear yeah, thank god for that. DD was a November baby so it's gonna be much nicer having an April baby. Especially with the weather getting nicer.
Ah, ok. At least it's gone now. Will you find out the gender at your anatomy scan?

Clara202 · 22/03/2026 16:38

Hope everyone is well. I’m about 8 weeks behind you @SureLook I think. I’m doing well so far but definitely beginning to slow down a bit. No sickness thigh for which I’m eternally grateful!

GrizzlyTheBear · 22/03/2026 16:56

@Clara202 so you're about 27 weeks? And no nasty symptoms? You're doing well! I'm pretty sure I was dying from heartburn and all sorts by then 🤣
@SureLook yeah I think we will find out the sex at the scan. Have you two found out?

SureLook · 22/03/2026 17:39

@Clara202 that's so good! Did you go ahead with IVF in the end or did you conceive naturally? That's great that you're feeling so good!

@GrizzlyTheBear oh, so exciting! Yeah, we found out. We're having another girl. Oh, same. I'm on Omeprazole now 😂😂

OP posts:
Clara202 · 22/03/2026 18:49

@SureLook Bit of a long story! Started the process, cancelled, started again, didn’t need it in the end. Yes I was worried about being really sick but luckily it didn’t happen.

@GrizzlyTheBear I’m dreading heartburn coming because I did have it at the start and I have read that it can come back in the third trimester but I’m hoping I’ll get away with not getting it again

GrizzlyTheBear · 22/03/2026 20:23

Haha oh dear @SureLook ! I'm sure I'm heading for the omeprazole too! And @Clara202 as well; we will probably all be on it 🙄
Last time I survived on Rennies but no doubt it'll be worse this time. Everything seems to get worse every time 😂
A girl will be lovely! Having a sister is a really wonderful thing for them.

SureLook · 23/03/2026 07:36

@Clara202 amazing. I'm delighted for you! It all worked out in the end.

@GrizzlyTheBear yeah, Gaviscon gave me maybe 10 minutes of relief. It was just killing me. I needed the good stuff 😂
Yeah, I'm delighted she's having a little sister. I hope they'll be besties and want to do spa days and afternoon tea with me when they're older 😂

Hi all. Just a little update to share with you all. Our baby girl was born on the 24th of April. She is perfect and we are over the moon. Her birth came with some sadness though. We finally got the news we had been dreading about my Dad. There was nothing more that could be done for him and he couldn't have anymore treatment. I made the decision to request a slightly early induction in the hopes he would get to meet her. She was born on the Friday and he met her on the Tuesday and then he passed on Saturday. We were with him at the end and it was all very peaceful and calm.

@SureLook I’m so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing, what a rollercoaster of emotions in such a short space of time. Happy to hear baby girl is here safe and well and I hope that you’re able to enjoy this time with her, it’s like he’s left you with the loveliest parting gift 💝

GrizzlyTheBear · 08/05/2026 14:02

Oh wow @SureLook that's quite some week. Congratulations on your gorgeous healthy baby of course! 💞 It's a huge blessing she got to meet her grandfather, even briefly. My eldest missed meeting hers by a month, and that was hard for my husband (his father). I'm guessing you've had the funeral a while ago now? I hope it helped you process things and you can start to look forward again whilst remembering him.
How is your big one dealing with a sibling?

SureLook · 10/05/2026 15:52

Thanks @Clara202 & @GrizzlyTheBear it's been a very bittersweet time. Yeah, we had the removal and funeral on Wednesday and Thursday. It was a nice ceremony and there was some really lovely things said about him. I suppose I just have to get used to life without him now.
My oldest is up and down as well! She adores her little sister and is a great helper but there's also lots of big emotions and feelings! All the usual really.

How are you both doing?x

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 10/05/2026 19:54

Aw it sounds tough, and very full on emotions wise. Take care of yourself, as much as you can with a newborn.
I'm glad to hear that big sister is happy 😊 it's only natural to struggle a bit at the same time - I'm sure they all do.

I'm fine, just gone 24 weeks now which is a nice milestone. Nothing much going on apart from the infernal heartburn. I haven't needed to get any proper drugs for it yet though so hopefully it won't get that bad.

SureLook · 12/05/2026 13:34

@GrizzlyTheBear yeah, it's been tough. Lots of tears, good days and bad. But we'll get through it. I am mindful of myself and my partner has been an amazing support.

Oh, amazing. 24 weeks is huge. Did you find out the sex? Oh the dreaded heartburn. Mine wasn't too bad until one day it was just absolutely burning me! Straight to the GP that evening for the Omeprazole 😂

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 12/05/2026 16:27

@SureLook another girl for us too! I didn't mind which it was, but I do like knowing.
Yeesh, so worse heartburn can suddenly pounce without warning? 😬 Oh I hope that doesn't happen.
I'm glad your partner is really supportive. It makes a huge difference when someone has got you through tough times.

SureLook · 13/05/2026 20:25

@GrizzlyTheBear aww, lovely. Will that be three girls then? I love knowing too. I don't know how people don't find out 😂
Yeah, the heartburn was ticking along and one random Monday it was just suddenly so much worse! Hopefully you avoid that!
Yeah, I'm very lucky. I'd be lost without him to be honest. I had my Mam, sister and niece around for lunch today. My Mam held the baby for ages. You could see how much comfort it was bringing her.

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 14/05/2026 09:35

@SureLook ❤️ your family all sound lovely. I assume you live close if they're able to come over for lunch - that's a huge blessing.
It will be two girls, one boy. It's a good mix I think. I think either three boys or three girls would be pretty full on!

SureLook · 14/05/2026 14:43

@GrizzlyTheBear yeah, we're about 20 minutes away from each other so it's handy. My Mam text me today saying how much she enjoyed yesterday and it was so nice to hold the baby.
Ah, that's lovely. Do you have any names picked out?
