Crikey look at me full of statistics. For some reason my brain remembers them. Not useful stuff though, it forgets anything useful almost immediately...

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 13/05/2025 20:06

I asked the doctor about having a blood test on cycle day 21 when this cycle i didnt ovulate until cycle day 20? And she said it could potentially not be acurate but its a starting point. Im trying so hard not to think that every twinge isnt a symptom! Bit period painy, headaches for the past 3 days, twinge in a boob 🙄 im not due on until a week tomorrow.

SureLook · 13/05/2025 20:09

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 it is so unfair the way AF symptoms and early pregnancy are the same. It can really get your hopes up.

Welcome @Adca also TTC for #2. Taking longer for me than before after an MMC in January. Anymore questions about the abbreviations just ask!

@HopefulCove enjoy Marbella! I'm avoiding symptom spotting to protect myself from the disappointment.

@GrizzlyTheBear fingers crossed for you!

I'm feeling like it's not gonna happen this month. No particular reason, just a feeling.

Thank you 😊
I'm so sorry that happened - sending good vibes for a positive soon ✨

SureLook · 14/05/2025 06:24

I'm starting to feel a little down. I'm just dreading how I'm gonna feel when my period comes. I've resigned myself to this month not being it!

GrizzlyTheBear · 14/05/2025 08:26

Aw @SureLook don't be sad. You're only cycle 3 is that right? That's a completely normal amount of time for it to take. I do understand when you see your ideal age gap between kids slipping that it's hard though. Are you about 9dpo? When do you like to test?

Oh god that’s unhelpful from the gp! you need to have it 7 days before your period is due… can you try and change the date of the test? Unfortunately if it’s low (which it will be if it’s totally the wrong date) they’ll say retest next cycle which is a waste of a whole month! I just had one and it was 2 days out and it’s annoying because I don’t know if it would have been “normal” on the precise day, and I’ve got to wait to retest. Next month I’m going to ring if the date of my cycle changes and ask for it to be moved. I don’t think a lot of GPs really understand these tests

SureLook · 14/05/2025 08:56

Thanks @GrizzlyTheBear I'm actually not too worried about the age gap. It's cause I caught first time on both previous pregnancies, although one was an MMC. My logical brain is just telling me that things are settling but my non logical side is worrying something is wrong and it's not gonna happen again for me. Yeah, I'm cycle 3 and 9dpo, good memory 😂 I'm holding off testing until 12dpo which is when AF is due. Just trying to keep the disappointment to a minimum. How are you doing?

Yeah its annoying - she was so helpful on the phone on Saturday - but if i go on cycle day 20 and the results arent good i will be tracking my ovulation so i will have to push to come back potentially a week later and re do them :/

Clara202 · 14/05/2025 09:37

I’m 8dpo now. I’m supposed to be going on a hen party this weekend, I’d love to know definitively if I am/am not pregnant by then. There’s just so much more for a woman to think about compared to the man! My boobs are huge and tender, they’ve been like this before though. No other ‘symptoms’ of note.

SureLook · 14/05/2025 10:32

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 that's frustrating for you!

@Clara202 I know what you mean. My DP just loves having loads of sex, he thinks it's great. He's an eternal optimist, though. He just keeps saying, it'll happen!

Well you got very lucky the first two times! Only a 25% chance of catching on any given cycle. But I do understand it makes you worry, even if it's not logical in theory. I'm sure things will happen soon ❤️
I'm fine, thanks, 14dpo today and still no period cramps and temp is still high. An absolutely classic pregnancy BBT chart actually, but I've had that before and not been pregnant so not counting my chickens.

SureLook · 14/05/2025 10:38

@GrizzlyTheBear I know, I was very lucky and I have to remind myself of that. I think it's cause it's getting closer to my due date (August) and I'm still not pregnant. And there was an announcement in work on Friday.
Glad you're doing OK! When will you test?

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 14/05/2025 10:49

@SureLook that is always really hard. Hopefully just a random colleague and not someone you work very closely with?
I will probably test on Saturday morning, so DH and I can look at the result together. I'll be 17dpo then so period would be due on Saturday morning at absolute latest. If it doesn't come I'll test.

Clara202 · 14/05/2025 10:55

@GrizzlyTheBear I don’t know how you haven’t tested already!I should have continued with the bbt but I find it the hardest thing to remember to do, despite it being on my bedside table.

GrizzlyTheBear · 14/05/2025 11:06

Haha @Clara202 I just really love doing the test with my husband. It's so nice to find out together. So it's not hard to wait because it's like waiting for something nice (hopefully).

SureLook · 14/05/2025 11:39

@GrizzlyTheBear we work in a small department, I'd have direct contact with her every day. She's lovely and I'm delighted for her. Another colleague who I'm very close with told only me about her pregnancy and I didn't feel the way I feel now for some reason. She sadly went on to have a loss at nearly 14 weeks and it was very traumatic. I'm planning on testing on Saturday as well, 12dpo. DP will be home and I won't have to go into work. That's if AF doesn't show before then.

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 14/05/2025 13:28

@SureLook that sounds ideal. You don't want to do a pregnancy test right before you both go out to work, no matter what the outcome is!

Clara202 · 14/05/2025 13:55

@GrizzlyTheBear I’m glad I didn’t start testing with my husband present, I think my disappointment every month is worse actually seeing the negative tests. Much as I’d love to find out together I’ve never felt at any point that my test could have been positive!

GrizzlyTheBear · 14/05/2025 14:03

@Clara202 I usually wait until after I've missed my period so I'm reasonably confident it will be positive!

SureLook · 14/05/2025 14:13

@GrizzlyTheBear exactly! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cry as well so I don't want that while trying to rush out the door.

I think my period was over a week late last cycle so I can’t even take that as a good sign🥲 Positive thoughts, it’s gotta hit sometime right?

I completely understand. I feel the same. There seems to be so many baby announcements at the moment - one of which a very close relative is having twins. I'm really happy for everyone who gets that wonderful news, I just want to join the club too. Hopefully soon!

Onwardsandupwards2025 · 14/05/2025 15:27

I’m due AF tomorrow and having some usual symptoms but still keeping my fingers crossed. I think I’m probably out for this month as I couldn’t resist taking a test at 11dpo and it was a total negative.

Onwardsandupwards2025 · 14/05/2025 15:28

Yeah it definitely feels like everyone is suddenly pregnant, I just keep thinking when is it going to be my turn.
