Anyone else in the early stages of their TTC journey for baby #1?

Hi everyone,

We’re early into our TTC journey and are currently on cycle number 2 for our first baby. I’ve also never been pregnant before.

I’m currently on day 14 of my cycle but my cycles are around 25-27 days on average, so my Flo app predicted I’d ovulate on day 12 based off symptoms of ovulation from previous months which have been quite consistent. We dtd on day 7,8,10 and 11 and haven’t been able to do it again since due to clashing work schedules, mega long days and then being exhausted in our free time as a result, so I have no idea if we’ve done enough this cycle.

Either way, it would be nice to chat to others in the same boat who are also only just starting their TTC journey! :) I told myself this cycle I wouldn’t count down the days or symptom spot like I did last cycle, but it’s hard not to already!

I'm okay thanks! Officially in fertile window and judging from LH think I'm a day or two from ovulation so will be in the TWW as of end of week. Definitely a roller coaster TTC but trying to approach it as fun and exciting this cycle after stressing myself and obsessively tracking last cycle 🙈

I do also have ADHD which is interesting when TTC - go from hyper focusing and over researching to completely forgetting to test LH and take vitamins hah.

congratulations! Sounds like you’re in the same boat as me. When in June is the wedding?

@Ivylilac I tested again today and definitely on the way down so I think 0.7 was the peak this month. It’s all useful info!

Welcome! How exciting about your wedding! And that sounds like perfect timing for ovulation if all goes to plan!!

How late do you ovulate typically?

I’m trying BBT but I think it’s confusing me more than helping plus I’m probably not doing it properly 😬

CD13 day 5 flashing smiley… pinching cramps in side yesterday, light pink spotting when wipe all day, and strong cramps like buzzing feeling last night. Dunno what that means.. hopefully LH peak is on its way!

@SilverDrive sorry to hear you got BFN.. it is early days still though so hopefully that will change! How are your readings this morning?

@Couchtattie is there a more normal luteal phase.. i think mine is usually 14-15 days!

I have been temping for a few months in prep and I think I will ovulate literally on the wedding day, so it could be a busy week that week haha!

I usually don't ovulate until Day 20 of my cycle and then I have quite a short lutual phase - known fertility issues so will need all the luck we can get!

Definitely sounds like the peak might be on its way with those symptoms!

I’m now CD10 and had another flashing smiley this morning. I’m so glad I’ve chosen to track this month, as I was so convinced that I ovulated around now before this, but looks like at the moment that isn’t the case.

Yes my Flo app was always off before I started tracking! How many flashing smileys have you had? Im sick of his flashing face now tbh lol x

@Ivylilac just the cheapie easy at home ones!

I used to have 11 day luteal phase before pill but now it’s mostly 9, sometimes 10.

@Couchtattie ah okay, yes I get on okay with the cheap ones! Don’t feel so bad about POA all the time 😂

This is day two of my flashing smiley, but my CM is starting to become more like EWCM, so I’m assuming the static smiley must be around the corner?! It’ll be interesting to see though, as my Flo app predicts I’ll ovulate on day 12 which will be Friday, so we’ll see!

CM sounds positive for you and definitely seems like anytime now.
My Flo app also predicts ovulation day as Friday for me which will be day 15. But my clear blue tracker says Sunday day 17 😦 interested to see how these line up…!

Hi @mummm2 thank you. My temp is still up at 36.8 today and I’m on CD34 with another BFN. I’m quite confused to be honest and just really really hoping AF comes tomorrow.
I know I’m definitely not pregnant, which I’m actually fine with, so I just want AF to come.
I feel like I just need it. You know when you get to the point where you just need it to arrive and clear your body….i feel like that!
I’ve also had a pretty stressful week at work and my diet has been shocking. I’m usually really good with my nutrition and exercise, but I’ve neglected myself a little this last week or so.
Fresh start tomorrow hopefully 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hopefully your apps will align this week and you’ll be able to pinpoint your ovulation. How come you’re finding BBT confusing?

Hey @SilverDrive hope you’re ok! Frustrating waiting for AF when you’re getting BFNs. But you’re not out til AF arrives. Hope you find out one way or another soon and you have a less stressful week this week.

I’ve been much better not symptom spotting in my TWW. Feel completely fine and now I’m thinking no symptoms probably means I’m not pregnant this month - I can’t win with myself either way 😂

@Wiennetta im 99.9% certain that I’m out, but I’m honestly fine with that. It was our first month and I’ve honestly learnt so much. Quite overwhelming how much I’ve learnt in such a short period!!

What DPO are you now? I know so many people that had zero symptoms so definitely not unusual.

Has anyone looked into fertility acupuncture at all? Or even tried it?
I also need to look into supplements a bit more I think. I’m only taking Folic Acid right but keep reading about Coq10 and Baby Aspirin. 🤯

I’ve had acupuncture once (not fertility one) so probably completely different I don’t know but I didn’t like it at all just felt so uncomfortable for me! and I ached for days after. But I think it’s worth trying as lots of people
do get on well with it!! I’m taking folic acid too. x
