Tips on how to not test before missed period

Laria19 · 18/02/2025 17:00

I tested early on my two pregnancies before and had two successful pregnancies then I had an early miscarriage and a chemical miscarriage last year and I was trying my hardest not to test early because of the heartbreak I experienced from the last two times. I’ve been trying this month and hoping I get a positive next month but I don’t know how I am going to stop myself from testing early, I worry so much after having the miscarriages anyone else finding it hard not to test so early x

Hope everyone is doing well! X

Good morning @LaTable! How are you? I'm now awaiting my NIPT results. Had my bloods done on Thursday so hoping for this coming Thursday. At least with the NIPT I don't need to pay for a separate gender scan! I'm 14 weeks today so hoping my nausea starts to settle down now too 🫠

Laria19 · 17/08/2025 10:14

Hello everyone 🙂hope all is well. I’m doing good except for the warm weather and my child deciding that 4-6 am was a good time to start kicking and moving around 🫠.

Tell me about it @Laria19!
It's been 39 for the past few days here, and although we have ac we can't leave it on overnight so the bedrooms feel like saunas by morning, and the night doesn't cool down enough to make it worth opening windows and shutters.
Also I think our girls are roughly on the same kick pattern haha, often get woken up by kicks. I love lack of sleep.... It feels so great..... 👍
Fingers crossed for good results @Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate, and also very exciting finding our the sex! Gaaahhh
Have you got a list on names yet or waiting to see what it is first?

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 17/08/2025 11:41

I'm struggling for boys names. I like a first name and DH likes a different first name. His for me is too American and mine for him, when combined with the middle name, is too biblical! I have a girls name I like but struggling for a middle name. I think boy anyway, although the fact my nausea is so much worse this time is making me question a girl!

Laria19 · 17/08/2025 11:51

Oh wow you definitely have it worse than me with the heat 😭.I think we are around the same weeks pregnant as well right ? The kicks where intense so I feel like she’s only gonna get worse 😂 @LaTable

Just turned 28 weeks I believe! It's going too fast!

Thankfully weather is dropping for us this coming week. Sure I'll be in a jumper at 25c though 🤣

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 23/08/2025 11:17

Thanks for the help with the NIPT @LaTable@curliegirlie. Results came back low risk and we now know we are having another little boy 😊

LaTable · 23/08/2025 20:43

Wonderful news @Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate
Two little boys, they'll be so very sweet together! 🥰 once you finally figure out a boys name 😅

LaTable · 04/09/2025 10:58

How is everything with everybody?
Only about 10 week left @Laria19, it's flying by!
How are the babies growing @Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolateand @curliegirlie- did you find out the sex?
@EMC2022how did the bfp turn out?!

Laria19 · 04/09/2025 11:04

Hello everybody hope all is well ☺️9.5 weeks left I went overdue on both my daughters so I add on an extra week or two 😂. Baby girl is growing well and moving like crazy lol, and my other two are big and bold. How are you keeping? @LaTable you don’t have long left either 🫣

Hi all! I'm 16+4 now, 20 week scan on the 30th September which feels like ages away! Need to sit down and work out finances so that I can work out when I'm working until! That's my next step. Got 10 boxes of DSs old clothes out of the attic the other day which I need to sort through too! How are you?

LaTable · 04/09/2025 21:08

I gave all my baby stuff away because I thought I was done 6 years ago... oops!
Just bought a few basics the past few weeks. I think the only think left on the need list is a car seat. But still got weeks for that so I'm sure it will happen in time 😅
Baby doing well, I think she flipped about a week and a bit ago so now I'm getting all the little feet or elbows sticking out at all angles. But she wiggles lots side to side still so not sure if she is breech or head down, will find out next week at the growth scan.
Youngest big one is getting impatient for baby to arrive haha!
What's your due date @Laria19? I have a feeling we're literally days out?
My first was early, second was late so I've got a 3 week window based on past experience 🙈🙈

Laria19 · 04/09/2025 21:12

I still have a lot of my baby stuff as my girls are so close in age, still like to shop for some new things though 😅ah I feel my baby is the same as yours, she’s was head down and now I’m not sure as I feel movement all over the place and the pressure isn’t as bad in my pelvis anymore. My due date is 11/11/25 my lucky numbers 🙂 @LaTable

curliegirlie · 04/09/2025 22:52

Hi all! 19+1 and I have my 20 week scan in a week.

we have a mix of stuff still: cotbed, Snuzpod (hopefully- it’s taken apart and scattered around the garage!), buggy (Joie Mytrax, which I think we can get a car seat to use with it), but gave away things like size 0 car seat, Moses basket, bouncy seat, most clothes smaller than 2 or 3 years….

I’m beginning to get a bit of scanxiety about next week. I wish I knew whether I could feel movements…

LaTable · 05/09/2025 21:07

My birthday @Laria19! Good day for a baby I'd say 😉
Going by uk standard of 40 weeks I'm due on the 8th (which is funny because I'm certain you had a bfp and af was due before mine at the start of this thread?)
But by french 41 weeks I'm due the 15th. Time will tell though!

What day is the scan @curliegirlie?
I totally get the scanxiety, especially not being able to feel movements consistently yet. Do you at least have a bump starting so there is something tangible there?

curliegirlie · 05/09/2025 23:44

My scan’s next Friday.

And bump? Oh yes 😂

LaTable · 06/09/2025 09:21

Aww, you've got such a neat little bump! @curliegirlie
I feel like a freaking whale currently. Not sure how I can grow any more 😅

curliegirlie · 06/09/2025 10:01

I do wonder how huge I’m going to get in total, seeing as I have another 20 weeks to go 🤣.

I’ll probably do a less subtle announcement at the end of the week too. Family know, and a small handful of friends, but for some reason I’ve been a lot more reticent about telling the big wide world. I guess I still have it in my head that there’s still plenty of chance for things to go wrong. And although my LM at work knows, I’ve not told anyone else as I’m impatiently waiting for a managed move (my current role finishes at the end of the month) and I don’t want to stymie my chances of landing in a team a I actually want to be in! I did post a picture that DD1 had drawn a few weeks ago that shows me with a baby in my tummy but don’t think many people picked up on it 😂

Laria19 · 06/09/2025 13:40

@LaTable yes I think I did have a positive before you 😂I know for a fact I will go over due though lol

OP posts:
LaTable · 06/09/2025 14:03

Awhhh that's the sweetest! 😍
Are the girls super excited?

Tbh, not telling the rest of work until your move makes sense!
And also, as long as the main people (family and close friends) know, the rest will figure it out eventually 😂

LaTable · 11/09/2025 12:53

Good luck on the scan tomorrow @curliegirlie! Hopefully it's nice and early so you don't have to sit with the scanxiety for much longer

Just had a growth scan today, another tiny little dot coming out way estimating below 10th again!
Was having fun looking through all the old scans and measurements and comparing when I got home (apparently all my babies are just diddy on scans)
Did make me laugh when I read the conclusions on birthing with dd1 - time in labour being 2h50 minutes
Dd2 was a whopping 6minutes 😅
So although home birth isn't really allowed here I think I may be getting on that YouTube and prepping myself for a car delivery 😆

Laria19 · 04/11/2025 11:52

Hey ladies its been a long time since we all had a little catch up, how is everyone is keeping?☺️x

OP posts:
LaTable · 04/11/2025 17:27

It sure has been a while! 39 + 3/4 now, still on baby watch!
So far managed to deep clean the whole house, repaint all of downstairs, and currently helping the hubby put up a new ceiling (we stripped it off a while ago and put new insulation in and clearly 9month pregnant was the best time to finish it!)
Also survived a solo 12 hour drive (and 12 back) with both kids for a funeral in the uk last month and didn't put a new scratch in the car which I'm rather proud of 😅
Girls are eagerly awaiting the arrival of little sis!
How are you @Laria19
@Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate
@curliegirlie

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 04/11/2025 19:09

Hi 👋 I think I've probably got the longest to go out of everyone! I'm 25+2 today. Having a wardrobe for the baby's room delivered tomorrow so looking forward to washing clothes and getting them sorted out... I think I'm developing a Vinted problem for baby clothes 🤣

Wow@LaTableI can't believe you are ready and waiting! Any signs yet? Mine isn't allowed to come even a day early!
