Tips on how to not test before missed period

I tested early on my two pregnancies before and had two successful pregnancies then I had an early miscarriage and a chemical miscarriage last year and I was trying my hardest not to test early because of the heartbreak I experienced from the last two times. I’ve been trying this month and hoping I get a positive next month but I don’t know how I am going to stop myself from testing early, I worry so much after having the miscarriages anyone else finding it hard not to test so early x

My third also! I thought I was absolutely done with 2 but then we had a very very surprise pregnancy that made me change my mind so here we are, trying for a sticky one!

Just realised it's Monday today? Or did you mean next week for af. The last week is always the hardest wait!

@LaTable Sorry I ment Monday next week 😅So literally a week from today. I want to wait as long as I can past my af flow due date it’s gonna be hard though 😭

I still wish I hadn't had the compulsion to test early though, and although I've managed to get to AF due date and am seeing progression so far, it would have been so much easier if I'd have waited it our, taken the test, and seen a proper dark line straight away....

I've had too many mc to trust in a line darkening haha I wish I could just skip the first trimester (although aware things can go wrong after also) for fear of the constant bleeding and mc risks.

I honestly don't think we will keep going for 3 years. I've got one chance for a sticky and then he's point blank done. No pressure eh 😅
How old are you two's other children?

I've got 2 DDs aged 6 and 9.(I can't believe I was starting all this when they were 3 and 6!)

I never meant to carry on as long as I did, I just never had the strength to stop, in case it could be the next cycle etc. But this really was going to be my final cycle. I'd finally got in the place where I was accepting - or even nearly looking forward to - sorting out the loft and focusing on the future as is! So, if this doesn't work, it will properly be me over and out.

That being said my 6 yo absolutely adores her 8yo sister. 8yo just hates everybody that isn't her dad or her best friend. 8 going on 18, bloody horrible most days but she's taken to locking herself in her room and stomping around when she's hangry so that's nicer that having to constantly tell her to be kind 😅

I'm here in this boat too! Been so busy at work the last week or so that I've made it to 9DPO today and not been too desperate to test although it popped into my mind this morning whether I should do a cheeky one tomorrow at 10 days. Trying to hold out to the weekend. AF due Sunday or Monday

I'm really desperate to have been successful this month. For one reason and another it would just be the optimum month for his to conceive but I know it doesn't work like that

I have no advice as I'm a test addict. Best way is to not have them in the house. I can't even have ovulation sticks in the house as I start on those too!
The best bit is, we are using condoms and are not trying to conceive (2 kids already). Since I came off the implant on November and we started with condoms, I have convinced myself I'm pregnant every month, that there must have been a mishap. I took 4 last month and 5 the month before!
This all started when we were TTC our first two, especially after one MC and a couple of chemicals. It's weird how addictive it is.
Try to keep busy, maybe treat yourself for not testing early!

@LaTable mine mostly get on, bar the few inevitable squabbles about what they're watching on TV, whether they want to play the same games and general winding each other up! Although there are 3 years between them, they're at a similar stage as my eldest has Down’s syndrome, so they've always been close.

Obviously, I haven't told them yet. Theoretically I think they'd love the idea of a baby sibling, but I do wonder if DD2 will get a bit jealous. There's still a while before I need to cross that bridge though...

@LLaria19 totally didn't see your previous message about af! I always find the last week the most difficult! At least we're about halfway there till Monday! I'll be a few days behind you and @Orangelover.

I'm trying my hardest not to symptom spot but the only time my insomnia is as bad as it is currently is when I'm pregnant, not sure what else it could be otherwise! Maybe if we pool our baby dust together we can all get bfp next week 🤪

I've been off the scale tired. Dropping to sleep on the sofa every night. Went to a friends at the weekend and didn't fancy a drink. Sore boobs (but I always get those in the run up to AF). But it all could be just wishful thinking

Didn't test this morning with my FMU! I'm really proud. I just so want to avoid that BFN but the tiny bit of hope that it might show up a few days. I just wanna test the day before AF or on the day and know definitively instead of staring and telling myself there might be a line.. or maybe tomorrow...

These are my tests from the last few days when I've been late (period would have rocked up on Monday). This is why it would have been good to wait - no ambiguity here!

@LaTable yep I caved and tested today 4 days early. Got the faintest line after 3 mins I should’ve waited 🫣I’m gonna wait to test again after my period was due. Please don’t do what I did guys, Now I have like eyes 😭
