Hi everyone
moving over to March now as AF has arrived today. That means my last cycle was 26 days. My cycles haven’t been the same since being on the depo injection. I’ve had 33, 28, 31, 29, 21 lol. As long as I ovulate then I’m happy.

Is temperature the only way to know if you have actually ovulated?

@carolinep3 some people's LH peak is very quick - if you Google you can see different patterns (slow rise vs fast rise). It's not an issue, can just make it harder to catch it on tests sometimes - people who peak quickly often test at least twice a day (or more) during the likely ovulation stage to make sure they don't miss it. Glad you've caught it!

Thanks. But I've been testing for
Months and this is the first time is has happened like this hence the worry. I normally have a peak for a few days so will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow! Haven't been bbt this cycle as I wanted to reduce the stress a bit!
It's been a long day so don't know if DH will be thrilled 😂

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 15:00

@carolinep3 ah sorry I hadn't realised that. I still wouldn't be worried (easier to say than to do, I know!) - I've barely got started on the tracking and the main thing I've learned is bodies are not exactly reliable month to month 😂

Totally get that end of a long day feeling!

AlbatrossSociety · 26/02/2025 16:00

I went to see acupuncturist today, and the paperwork she gave me said that acupuncture can help to lengthen the luteal phase so it could be worth going down the complementary medicine route?

She also gave me lots of diet and lifestyle advice and overall think it was a really useful session!

confusedmum25 · 26/02/2025 16:56

Pleasestopjumpingonthesofa · 26/02/2025 13:11

@confusedmum25 do you use anything to track your cycles? I've found it helpful being able to look back and think of okay I always have e.g. sore boobs/pelvic cramps/headache/whatever at this time of cycle, stops me reading too much into it!

Just an app which im not sure is entirely accurate so im not even 100% certain when/if ive ovulated , if I dont get BFP ill probably start using OPK’s

Good idea I should start adding my symptoms into the app also so I’ll know for future

littlefox90 · 26/02/2025 17:17

@albertrosssociety I've been having a look today at acupuncture as @carolinep3 mentioned it too. Seem to have an experienced one near me

carolinep3 · 26/02/2025 17:22

Yes, fertility acupuncturists seem really knowledgable on cycles and everything to with with ttc. It is even just nice to have someone to talk to someone about it with and for them to explain things to you.
Just two sessions of acupuncture positively affected my cycle for 2 months!
And that was literally 20 mins each time (the rest of the time was spent talking 🙈😂)

That’s really good! I’ve been thinking of trying it too. Currently having counselling though and want to finish one before starting the other for financial reasons

littlefox90 · 26/02/2025 20:44

@Muddysocks1 tell me about it! Everything is so expensive. I might sneak off for the acupuncture 🤣 I've just told DH I want to spend £200 on a watch as its the apple seris 8 and will do my BBT for me

Hi all, i just made a post but not sure if better to tag on to this big post instead - sorry i’m a first time mumsnet poster!

TTC baby number 2 since sept, had a chemical last cycle, got a blazing positive LH strip about a week after symptoms of chemical stopped, usually my LH levels drop off a cliff within a day or so of the peak but this cycle they are remaining slightly elevated up to 0.35? Im currently 4DPO.

This is totally out of character in comparison to my other cycles, my levels usually drop as low as 0.05 following the peak. I’m so confused!

If you are using premom the numbers don't really mean much.

Yes its premom strips. I do frequently tell myself not to get too hung up on numbers, but it’s just so out of character? Every other month i have tracked has been the same with the huge almost immediate drop?

i really do appreciate you taking the time to respond, but i feel like this must mean something, i just don’t have a clue what lol

I had the same thing this cycle. It finally dropped at 6dpo and AF arrived as normal. Not sure what caused it. I'm the same as you though, peak and then drop right down to 0.0 something

AlbatrossSociety · 27/02/2025 16:47

@Wishbone2023 Welcome! Unfortunately can give absolutely no insight as to premom numbers, haven't done that myself yet. Our bodies just love doing weird things just when we think we've got a handle on it don't they!

So I did an opk for the first time this morning with a clear blue one and got a smiley face... I'm CD14 and didn't think I'd ovulate until CD19 based on my last 2 cycles. The smiley face means it's coming soon right? It's not really a problem as we've been dtd every other day anyway but I'm confused!!

Also I have conjunctivitis which is really bloody annoying and my temperature was slightly raised last night but I think that's due to the illness rather than anything to do with ovulation. Does anyone know how likely that is to mess things up!?

littlefox90 · 27/02/2025 20:25

@AlbatrossSociety was it a flashing smile or a solid. Flashing is coming soon and solid is that your peak is now.

It was solid!

Do you think being ill at the same time as the peak would negatively impact chances this month?

Thank you for relating ❤️

I’ve finally dropped back down to baseline today, 5dpo! And so continues the agonising TWW…

littlefox90 · 27/02/2025 22:04

@AlbatrossSociety I don't think so, also if you have your solid today your two most fertile days are today and tomorrow so your definitely not out. Especially if you have been dancing every few days anyway. Sending baby dust 💕

littlefox90 · 27/02/2025 22:05

@Wishbone2023 hopefully the TWW isn't too long for you ❤️ I definitely find it the worst part! Sending baby dust, I hope you get your BFP at the end of it

Hi, I was on the first Feb thread, got a positive and now back after a miscarriage at 7 weeks.

I have to test next week to check it's totally negative and then I can start tracking ovulation again. It's my first miscarriage so absolutely no idea what to expect. I've read cycles can go really long or really short straight after.

Yeah cycles can be a little muddled for a bit while hormones get back to normal.

Hi all, I am in the right place if we're going to start trying this month? I'm ovulating at the moment, but cos of timings with holidays, we're waiting until my next period to start. Should be around 15th march. So ovulating with TTC end of march. Is it ok if I join? Or should I wait for the April one? 😊

Hi @Thomsonetthompson sorry for your loss. It's so hard.
I tentatively joined this thread after an MMC in January. I passed some myself on 30th January then had a D&C on 4th February where they removed the rest. I just this morning got my period back so that was around four weeks from when I passed some myself and just over three weeks from my D&C. I would have been fairly regular before. What are your cycles normally like?
