Hi everyone
moving over to March now as AF has arrived today. That means my last cycle was 26 days. My cycles haven’t been the same since being on the depo injection. I’ve had 33, 28, 31, 29, 21 lol. As long as I ovulate then I’m happy.

Is temperature the only way to know if you have actually ovulated?

Has anyone been really ill? I woke up yesterday with a really bad cough.. just a cough, swear I got an infection or something., I never have a bad cough unless I am full of the cold, Plus every time I cough I am constantly peeling myself which is something I haven't had either before too. 😒😂

minimims2 · 09/03/2025 18:05

@carolinep3 thank you for taking the time to explain & share your own experience with me. Would you recommend the digital ovulation tests over the strips? I’m not getting along very well with them I don’t think I’ll use them next cycle if it’s not my time this cycle.

I have PCOS so my cycles can vary from month to month, but on average they’re 38-40 days x

PCOS can cause high LH through your cycle which is a bit confusing! It would probably help to track LH alongside BBT and cervical mucus, as all 3 might make it a bit clearer ☺️

I feel a bit demoralised this morning- you know when you just feel it’s never going to happen? Had got my hopes up at slight indents that have stayed the same so clearly not a Bfp of any form, just the tests. This was cycle 11, so almost at a year. I’m either 10 or 11 DPO so still time for a Bfp but it just feels v unlikely now.

OliveTraybake · 10/03/2025 07:57

Hi everyone - we’ve been ttc for about a year and a half and not fallen pregnant at all. Having tests done to understand why.
I feel like everything is against us and the pressure on it is building so much that my dh can’t finish any more and this only happens on the crucial ovulation days.

I know the right thing to do is to stop trying for a few months but I really don’t want to.

our life is so well set up to welcome a baby and it’s all I want - it makes me want to pack everything up - but a one way ticket somewhere and start again - then maybe I won’t want a baby so much because my life won’t be in a. Space to accommodate one. I know this sounds ridiculous but I’m really struggling with this right now.

Hi @OliveTraybake , sorry to hear you’re struggling. I’ve heard quite a bit about home insemination recently, as an option for couples who are having performance issues or want to separate intimacy from TTC. Either with just a cup and syringe, or there’s actual kits you can buy (Bea fertility has a special one with a cup that sits against your cervix so max chance of sperm getting up there, although it does look expensive). Might be worth a look!

SureLook · 10/03/2025 10:42

Hi @OliveTraybake & @Muddysocks1 sorry to hear you're both feeling a bit down. Have you thought of going to your GP @Muddysocks1 ? Sending hugs x

Sorry to hear you are struggling. I'm sure we can all relate. It helped me a bit to write my feelings down and just get them out.
Have you had tests done if it has been a while? My DH has some 'performance anxiety' when my last baby, this time I've kept all details to myself, ovulation days etc. he isn't stupid he can work it out I'm sure but just tried to make it fun with massages etc

Thank you @SureLook , I spoke to GP a couple of months ago, she said give it 3 months then come back, so I think if this cycle and next aren’t successful I’ll book in. Done hormonal bloods before and have a Hertility test waiting to do if/when period arrives. Will nudge partner to request semen analysis from GP I think - GP suggested it when I spoke to her, wasn’t really sure if she meant after 3 months or sooner but think no harm in him asking.

SureLook · 10/03/2025 11:22

Sounds like you're getting the ball rolling @Muddysocks1 hopefully then a plan can be put in place to help things along x

sjwx · 10/03/2025 11:24

@Muddysocks1 my dh is having semen analysis tests this week, this is our 5th month ttc and gp was happy to refer him so definitely worth asking again

sjwx · 10/03/2025 11:39

@AlbatrossSociety thanks for sending your chart - do you get on well with natural cycles? I was considering it but I use the easy @ home strips and BBT thermometer that are both linked with the Premom app so was just easier

My BBT went back up today so that's 3 days above the cover line which hopefully means I did ovulate! One less thing to worry about

Oh that’s handy to know, thank you! It might vary by area, but is that at a clinic somewhere or is it like a urine sample where you just take the pot back to GP?

sjwx · 10/03/2025 11:53

@Muddysocks1 it's at a fertility clinic local to us but he only waited a few weeks for the appointment which we thought was good as it was a referral from our gp. He's been told to not dtd for a few days before so think it's more than just urine but might include that too - will report back if that's helpful!

That’s brilliant! Thanks that’s really reassuring. Hopefully it’s like that here 🤞🏻

@carolinep3 congratulations xx

I've been taking the
Coq10 - 600
Pre natal
Female probiotic (one for microbiome, one normal)
Vitamin c (good anyway for immune system)
Iron tablet

(Personally take omega 3 and collagen for joints, but that isn't ttc related)

I've also been eating 2 Brazil nuts a day, they have selenium in which is good for fertility apparently.

I mean if you want to go all out, with all 3 times ttc, I've drunk raspberry leaf tea before ovulation, that is good for the uterus.
And obviously the beetroot juice this cycle!

sjwx · 10/03/2025 15:55

@carolinep3 congratulations on your BFP! ☺️

Did you drink the beetroot juice before or after ovulation? Don't want to drink it at the wrong time as know the raspberry leaf tea should only be drunk before ovulation

This is what I’m taking (mostly advised by It Starts with the egg book but also other things I'm trying):

Proceive prenatal supplement
Vitamin E - 400 IU
Vitamin C - 500mg
Myo-inositol
Coq10 - 200mg (400 was recommended but it’s ££)
Vitamin D3 - tel:4000-5000 4000 IU
baby aspirin 75mg
Vitamin B6 (supports progestone)

Pre ovulation: starflower oil (for CM)
Before bed: magnesium (trying the Free Soul 4 in 1 magnesium glycinate with turmeric)

I did buy some mucinex (not the brand just the ingredient beginning with G) but it tastes horrible so only took a few times

I've done the boot root juice after ovulation from about 4-10 DPO. It helps blood flow to the uterus.
You can mix it with other things, which I started but then you are just drinking more and the gross taste doesn't massively go away 😂
So I just held my nose and chucked 😬
