Hello ladies. I've been keeping up to date with this month and also the November/December group. I joined the October TTC group and had a very surprising positive pregnancy result, unfortunately it ended I a chemical and a trip to the EPU. I started spotting the day after my period and my tests weren't very strong so I wasn't feeling too hopeful. I then gave a little update on the November group and decided to just stalk the December group and not actually put a message on because I was started to get a little anxious and was feeling frustrated overwhelmed.

I thought I was completely out for this month - I think I ovulate at the beginning of the month as I always get EWCM and ovary pain. We didn't really have an amazing month for actually having sex that much and I was getting symptoms that I thought were my period about to start. It didn't start on Tuesday and my cycle is always 27 days, so I did a test Tuesday night ( after lots of water drinking). I thought it would definitely be negative and then I'd just know then that I'd be waiting for my period but I had a faint line. I tested Wednesday morning and had a more convincing line. Obviously I've then tested loads so the tests from top to bottom are,

Tuesday night
Wednesday morning
Thursday morning
Friday morning (I also got my Clearblue 2-3 weeks that morning with the same sample, I did this test very very earlier in the morning and my urine wasn't as strong as the other mornings I'd say)
Saturday morning
Sunday morning

Obviously these tests have dried and I feel like the bottom test in the darkest? The tests had much more colour to them when they were initially done. The last picture shows the colour as soon as I'd done the most recent test this morning - it came up immediately and seems quite strong? In just looking for some reassurance really as I'm obsessing over the tiniest little thing after the chemical in October.

Do you think these look ok? I'd really like to do another Clearblue digital weeks to see if I can get the 3+ but maybe next week sometime as I'm scared it's too soon? I'm tempted to do another strip test tomorrow morning too. What do you think?

Sending baby dust to all, I've been following all of your stories. Sorry for the huge message, these thoughts have been in my head since Tuesday night and I've just got it all out! Xx

Your tests look great!! Congratulations lovely they look theyre definitely heading in the right direction xx

Hello all!
Thought I’d join you here. Starting to try for #2 this month, currently CD7 so probably ovulating just after Xmas. Excited to start trying again but know I’m going to drive myself a bit crazy with all the testing/treating it like a science experiment like I did last time.
Had a section with DD so also a bit apprehensive about what that’s done to me and the miscarriage risk increasing, trying not to let my anxiety get the better of me though.

Same as me - I'm just a few months into trying though! Really relate to the science experiment comment! Ha! I've actually been a bit more relaxed about it this time but slightly annoyed at myself because I think the science experiment obsession last time helped it happen so quickly!

Also had a C-section - I had never heard it increased risk of miscarriage, is that true?

I’m doing OPKs this cycle, this is our first cycle trying so I’m patiently waiting on the big O.

I have been testing since CD10 and haven’t got above 0.6 ☹️. I’ve started testing twice a day today - I had to buy more tests.
So in the opposite of you, I’m showing as ovulating late. Really hope I get a peak soon, it’s CD15 today, I usually get my peak 16-18… keeping everything crossed.

Have you ever peaked twice? It does seem very early to be peak CD8.

Never peaked twice no!
Though it was a flashing smiley cd8 - only got my peak today at CD10 so that feels a little more positive as my Flo app is now predicting I'll ovulate on CD13 so only one day early...

I guess every body is different - some surge quickly some surge slowly? Opks are great but have potential to be crazy makers I think! Hope your testing goes well this month x

Sorry to see it hasn't worked out for you @MummyV2021, @SarahB88 and @littlefox90 It's so cruel when this happens. Thinking of you all.

@Wondergirl1111 My cycle was all over the place for 8 weeks after my D&C in March. I gave you trying to track them because I was bleeding every 16-18 days. I was still coming toward the end of a bleed when I noticed a HUGE amount of EWCM, which is extremely unusual for me. I did a random OPK a day later when I'd stopped bleeding and it was relatively high, so I realised I must be either about to ovulate because my surges are lightening quick. We'd already done the deed that day and decided to it again the next day for luck. That was CD9.

I got a positive pregnancy test 9 days later. Full cycle was 18 days, I couldn't believe it. Tragically, we lost our little boy at 19 weeks in September due to unexplained pre-term labour, but he was absolutely perfect himself. They still can't tell us why it happened, all tests have come back clear, but I'll always remember that positive pregnancy test and being absolutely stunned at falling pregnant with such a short and random cycle.

Wow what an amazing story - thank you so much for sharing - I always think it's so positive to hear real life stories about how different all our bodies are and the different ways we can get BFPs.
I'm so sorry to hear your pregnancy ended in loss though - that is truly heartbreaking and must have been so so tough. Sending love x

KittyFantastica · 23/12/2024 08:48

Thank you @Wondergirl1111 He really was our little star baby. He was beautiful, and every day is a traumatic nightmare without him. I should be 32 weeks pregnant now; enormous and hosting Christmas from the sofa. Instead, we're not celebrating Christmas at all and we're tracking ovulation (I've been pregnant 3 times this year, and no living children).

George's pregnancy was an absolute dream until it ended, things were going so well, so had finally we let our guards down (after 2 early losses) and tried to enjoy it. We can't do that ever again now. If I do ever get pregnant again, I'll be high risk and likely to have a repeat of last time... so not the happiest thoughts to be tracking ovulation with.

My cycles have been 28 days, 30 days, and 23 days since I gave birth, so a bit varied. It was 26-28 before. I wasn't tracking the first cycle because I was told it would likely take 6-8 weeks for my period to return, however, I had a TVU on day 16 and already had a corpus luteum on my right ovary, so I'd ovulated just two weeks after having George. I didn't track the next two either, just kept up with Clue and Premom. My smart watch auto-saves my temp every morning at 6am, so that should hopefully confirm OV, but I don't know whether I'll track this month. I might do as hubs will be going to visit his family between Christmas and NY, and that's toward the predicted end of my fertile week!

SarahB88 · 23/12/2024 08:54

@HNM sorry to hear about your CP. Those tests look great though so everything crossed for you!

We’re not going to track this month. My CP bleeding is calming down so think I’ll just have a regular length period by the looks of it which means my fertile period will be whilst my partner is on holiday so he’s said at least that’s worked out well for us because we’ll be able to dtd loads to give ourselves a good chance. It also means my period will be due again on my first day back to work from maternity leave 😂

CoolSummer89 · 23/12/2024 11:16

Oh @KittyFantastica you have had such a tough year, I am going to use my Christmas wish for you to have to the best 2025, whatever that might look like.

Feeling good over here. It's ovulation day today and we DTD 1 and 3 days before ovulation. My husband is out tonight but we might try tomorrow before my mum arrives for Christmas, but we'll see how stressed I am 😅

Also just had a call with the fertility hospital and got all our appointments booked in for the new year. 2025 is the year SOMETHING is going to happen, I can feel it ✨

Lavenderrose92 · 23/12/2024 15:25

hello joining this thread as hoping to conceive and welcome a healthy baby into the world 💫
i had a ecptioc in february and lost my right fallopian tube at 7 weeks.
was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and started medication in may

then in had a miscarriage in nov at 6 weeks which i feel was due to my thyroid level being high 😞
i have a repeat blood test early jan and really hope i can start the journey again. Also hoping to lose a stone after christmas. I have started to have decaf tea and coffee.
Currently taking aspirin, levothyrine (for my thyroid) and pregnacare conception tablets
i’ve ordered some ovulations strips and currently on cycle day 2 ( first period since miscarriage)
any advice welcome ☺️

Can anyone give me an idea of a smart watch that will record your temp in the morning? I’m not good at remembering lol

Room4onemore · 23/12/2024 15:57

Also sorry is there a number that an ovulation stick has to be over to say you have ovulated if that makes sense lol

@HNM Congratulations, the progression looks spot on! X

I think today is my ovulation day, have had lots of little crampy niggles and it’s CD17 when I usually peak.

Will try to see if we can do it tomorrow too but if not then will have DTD 2x before and then on ovulation day.

Period due on 3rd of January. It would be the best start of the new year, but if not, I’ve got my doctors and it’s a new year, feels like a fresh start to it.

It’s good you can kind of predict when you’re ovulating by your symptoms! I’m ovulating today so we might by cycle twins this time 😅

Hopefully we get the best start to the new year ever! x

Thank you very much to all who said continue OPKs! I had my LH peak for the first time ever last night! Definite peak! Interesting how it didn’t line up with my EWCM but still nice to see! I wonder when that means actual ovulation is but managed day before yesterday and the day before and aiming again today!

Lou98x · 23/12/2024 17:25

I’m going to have tap out of this thread for the time being - I feel very emotional these days and your stories, positive or otherwise, are making me weep every time I check in!

Wishing you all the best of luck this month, I’ll be back in the new year with either a BFP or the arrival of AF and be joining you on the next thread! Love to all and Merry Christmas!

Also sorry is there a number that an ovulation stick has to be over to say you have ovulated if that makes sense lol

There’s not a specific number and from what I understand it can be different for everyone. I think the CB LH test strips look for your LH levels to quadruple (so if it’s usually 0.25 then a level of 1 would be peak for example). My peak tends to vary between 1-1.5 but I know some people’s peak can be 0.6 or above 2!

The main thing to look for is a large increase compared to your ‘base’ levels after AF has finished. Good luck 🤞 x

Ah i’m so pleased you got your peak ☺️ if you had your peak today you’ll likely ovulate in the next 24-36 hours so you’re doing well with the DTD!

Funnily enough I get EWCM a few days before ovulation and it stops just before I get my peak - so it doesn’t always line up perfectly I don’t think

CoolSummer89 · 23/12/2024 18:10

Hi @Lavenderrose92 sorry to hear that your journey has been rocky so far. I don't have advice for your specific situation I am afraid. Have you taken the pregnacare vitamins before?

@Room4onemore I know that Apple watch takes your temperature and then syncs with a few of the of the period tracking apps (e.g. natural cycles, fertility friend) to identify ovulation. I'm sure others do too.

Also, and sorry to be technical here, but ovulation sticks don't say that you have ovulation. They measure levels of a hormone called luteinising hormone (LH). LH is present all the time but for most women LH will rise just before ovulation, it's the body's way of saying: we're ready for you now egg. Everyone is different so people will have different levels of LH, so there is no minimum score. Also some people have several LH peaks before they ovulate, usually women with polycystic ovaries. You can only confirm ovulation either by measuring your temp each morning or by measuring your progesterone, and that is only after the fact so not great for timing DTD.

@MyGardenDaisies snap! Let's hope this month is our month. Otherwise we both have tests in Jan, right? Oh and also @Kateb149 💖

@Kinderbueno89 oh that's great, yea you'll prob ovulate today or tomorrow.

Oh @Lou98x sorry to hear that you're having a tough time. Yea of course do what's best for you and I hope you have a lovely Christmas. Hugs.

MyGardenDaisies · 23/12/2024 18:15

@CoolSummer89 @Kateb149 yes fingers crossed 🤞 for us all! Xx

Hi all, hope it's okay to join. I've read through most of the messages and wish everyone luck and baby dust! We're TTC baby number 2, I don't think it's happened this month but there is a chance as my app says I'm due AF on 31st. Is it worth testing sooner? I was hoping I wouldn't be as anxious and obsessive this time round but it seems I am! I'm 7dpo currently based on the app and reading into every twinge of course! January I'll try ovulation sticks or some other test because I can't bear the not knowing! In response to someone's question earlier in the thread we DTD every day in the 7 day window, probably too much! Does anyone recommend any ovulation test?

MyGardenDaisies · 23/12/2024 20:21

@Lemonolive09 welcome! Clear Blue digital work well for me

how long did it take you to conceive first?

Thank you @CoolSummer89 and @Lavenderrose92 I'm so sorry for your loss too. We all go into this hoping it will be exciting and joyful, and we never know what's awaiting us.

Welcome @Lemonolive09 You'll find lots of support here.

@Room4onemore I have an Apple Watch, which I set up to take my wrist temp at 6am every morning via the Sleep app on my iPhone. To be honest, I don't rate the watch itself, but the temp feature works fine. It's not as accurate as a normal thermometer as it can only measure wrist temp, but I've tracked ovulation (and confirmed with digital and strip tests) plenty of times with it to know it's good enough. It also lets me know if I've an elevated heart rate, which can be a sign of early pregnancy as well.

I set it up with the Fertility Friend app, so it saves the temp data, sleep hours, and resting heart rate automatically and creates a chart day by day.

@Lemonolive09 welcome! Clear Blue digital work well for me

how long did it take you to conceive first?

Hi @MyGardenDaisies and @KittyFantastica thank you.

In late 2018 I fell pregnant the first month we tried, then at 6.5 weeks had a miscarriage, and then waited to try, fell again first attempt but then a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks in 2019, it then took 6 months and I fell pregnant with my DD, born July 2020.

It's taken so long for my DH to come round to the idea of a second that I feel desperate to fall straight away, I mean I know we all do anyway but yeah. I'm worried now that I'm older too, almost 35 that it'll take longer and more likely to miscarry again.

I think I'll test on Friday, then next week I'll go shopping for all the kit! I've had weird sharp jabby pains on the right side randomly throughout today which I'm trying to ignore and not concern me as I'm sure implantation should be crampy not jabby 🥴

@KittyFantastica I've just re read your story, I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart truly goes out to you.

Wishing everyone the best for 2025

HNM · 23/12/2024 21:50
