@MyGardenDaisies hey I also can't see anything but I would not see it as a bad sign, since you're too early yet... crossing my fingers for you 🤞🏼

Marie1990x · 06/12/2024 11:35

@MummyV2021 I’m doing good thank you! Trying not to symptom spot, but similar to you I was having twinges last night, but central not on a side. Highly doubt it means anything for me as I always seem to have twinges 😂. It did cross my mind about ovulation again, but my PDG test is positive so I doubt it?

How are you getting on?

Just a random thought. Have a bit of a cough so having a herbal tea which includes echinacea. Which reminded me of the time I accidentally got pregnant when I was 21 (almost 15 years ago now).

I was not expecting to be pregnant at all, I was on the pill. But I had woken up a few days in a row at about 4/5am really needing to pee. I said to my bf at the time that I thought I must be pregnant because something felt off. I went to Boots and I had the beginnings of a cold, so I bought a pregnancy test and some echinacea. I remember the pharmacist saying, don't take the echinacea if you're pregnant. Anyway, the test was negative so I took the echinacea. Then two days went past, I still felt off and I took a digital which said 1-2 weeks so I must have had symptoms very early. Also thinking about it now, the cold was probably also a symptom!

I think a lot of us who have been pregnant before think about what our symptoms were at the time, especially if they were very obvious. I think that's why I get a bit frustrated in the TWW because I feel like I would know, but then I also will just trick myself into believing anything.

I’ve felt exactly the same! I got pregnant on the pill years ago which was accidental… before my period was even due I went into work and complained of headache, sore boobs and feeling sick. Someone told me to take a test and it was positive!
So now I keep telling myself ‘i’m sure i’ll just know when it’s been successful because i’ll feel pregnant’ but every month the TWW comes and I get obsessed with silly symptoms 😅 x

KittyFantastica · 06/12/2024 15:04

@Kateb149 and @CoolSummer89 Three days before my first positive test with my late son, I started having hot flushes. I am the COLDEST little walking icicle usually, no matter what the time of year, so I thought I was coming down with a cold or something. Then, on the Friday lunch time, I came down to make lunch for me and my husband and promptly fell asleep on the sofa for the whole hour. I'm usually an insomniac who never naps, so that was odd too. I thought at the time, maybe I should do a test.

The next morning, it was my mum's birthday and I was thinking about wrapping her presents first thing in the morning. I was mid-way through my first wee of the day, thinking about what wrapping paper to use, when I suddenly thought CRAP, I was gonna test! Had to stop mid-flow and try to find a receptacle. That was 9DPO and the line came up clear as day. Never had a line that early before, and I'd never had symptoms with either of my previous pregnancies (both early losses). It's so funny how your body changes subtly in those super early days. I miss my son terribly, but those memories of finding out about him are so precious now.

CoolSummer89 · 06/12/2024 15:29

Oh @KittyFantastica I am so sorry for your loss but thank you for sharing that story. What a lovely memory xx

Thank you @MyGardenDaisies @CoolSummer89

We lost him at 19 weeks in September this year. I think we'd like a bit more time before trying again, but time isn't on our side and we are desperate to have a family.

We're leaving for our holiday tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I ovulated either yesterday or the day before. I didn't track, and we are leaving it all as a 'what will be will be', but I've had all the signs. I guess I'll find out when we get back!

I'm going good thanks! Trying not to read too much into these dull cramps - they're still there and have been most of the day. Definitely different to ovulation pain! So glad I've got a busy 6 days ahead otherwise I'd be driving myself insane!!

So sorry for your loss but glad you have such precious memories ❤️ it is so strange how sometimes you just know! I got a BFP early on too, and wasn’t expecting it at all.

Hope you have a lovely time away with your family and wishing you all the best x

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I feel time isn't on my side either so I've probably started ttc a few months earlier then I would have.

I think I should ovulate tomorrow but my partner is away til Sunday. Did the deed today but Im thinking this month won't be the one.

Hi does anyone have any tips on how to OPK? Where to store the data? How to tell if it’s actually positive vs nearly positive? Brand recommendations or apps? It’s been a few months now so I’m thinking of giving the data a go!

Last month I used the Premom strips from Amazon & recorded on their app. I found the tests really sensitive, and they are cheap. Whereas the first month I used clear and simple ones from savers and they barely showed a line until I was at my peak.

Ah that's interesting, I used one step as I did with #1 but found them hard to tell this time. Might check the savers ones out. Do they work with the prenom app?

SarahB88 · 06/12/2024 20:50

I’m convinced this isn’t our month so I’m having some wine tonight whilst the baby is in her bed and my partners at work 🙈

Just checked my dates and if this isn’t our cycle, my fertile time again falls between Xmas and new year so loads of opportunities as my partner will be off work so we’ve no excuses and we were successful second time round for our daughter 🤞

Marge35 · 06/12/2024 21:24

Congratulations to those that have had BFP's this month! What lovely Christmas miracles! ✨

Finally had my OPK peak this morning on CD14 and my husband and I have managed to DTD 3 days before peak, night before peak and now day of peak so feeling positive that we have covered before ovulation at least! Feel like I'm ovulating now with pains on my right side so if I can convince him to DTD once more tomorrow then at least we know we have really tried this month, and have set ourselves up well. TWW will likely start tomorrow .... Better get busy with planning festivities!

JB2021 · 06/12/2024 21:46

Those of you who have said you've had twinges before a BFP what are these like?

With #1 I can't remember any symptoms. Pretty sure I'm out this time but feel like I've got twinges and the nearest thing I can describe them as if baby kicking/moving.

Following with interest - I've bought Easy@Home opks for the first time as we're going into cycle 5 so seems like time to get serious. Helpfully DH is away with work next week right across my fertile window in Clue app - I've downloaded Premom also and it's showing different days. No idea when to start testing, I'm CD7 today and a bit lost with it all.

pcbrb · 06/12/2024 22:12

@lynzmb how long are your cycles normally? My third month TTC I didn't use OPKs but tracked temperature and checked CM and I think I ovulated on CD14.. this cycle (#4) I decided to use OPKs and started testing as soon as my period was over, and I got my peak on CD 9 and ovulated CD11... if I would have started testing later I would have missed my fertile window.. if I were you, I would begin to test already, just to be sure 🫶🏼

I felt like ovulation pain.. it is like a punctual spike in one side of the pelvic area, that comes and goes.. during ovulation I have the same thing, so that's what I can compare it to.. but in my case is not like AF cramps, more like Ovulation pain.. but I've only tested positive once, this cycle 😅 so don't have a lot of experience

I personally love the easy at home LH tests, find them so easy to use and read and I scan them into the premom app! Nice and cheap too, can get a big box off amazon.
I usually test twice a day, once in morning and once before bed. Sometimes it's very light in the morning and blazing positive at night! So I found the twice a day thing really important for my cycle.

I usually start on about cd9/10 and then I normally ovulate cd14. I keep testing after my peak for a few days just to make sure that was defo my peak!

I found them so confusing to start with but really got the hang of it after a couple cycles! Xx

Thank you, this is great advice. Just been looking back at my Clue app and they are a bit all over the shop. I'll test tomorrow. Would be typical if I ovulate early and DH is away Mon-Thurs next week 🙄

Use easy@ home tests and the premom app to track
cheap and cheerful and seem to give me realistic results
Not out yet but I’ve counted myself out based on symptoms and had a few wines tonight 😅 we will see but ultimately think af will turn up when expected 🤷🏻‍♀️ if not poor bean will have had a few glasses of Prosecco and hopefully it won’t make a difference 🙈 hard to live your life as if you’re pregnant when you get negatives month after month

Following as well- I am just in cycle 4 ttc and think have just had a 3rd chemical pregnancy and am ovulating much earlier than my clue app tells me! im super confused as I have a 33 day cycle so assumed i would ovulate around day 16-18. Weve just been dtd as normal and trying to make sure over fertile week on clue app. But i ended up getting BFP from CD23 this month meaning i have to have ovulated around cd9- i thought maybe dodgy one step batch but ive gone from quite clear lines to gradually fading line and yesterday cd27 completely stark negative on four tests. so have ordered myself a bbt thermometer to start with and trying to get my head around how to do these OPKs as well!

is it normal to still ovulate cd9-14 as if having a 28 day cycle but have a really long luteal phase? Im worrying somthings wrong with my hormones 🙈 conceived first no issues at all with same long 33 day cycles but was only 31 and now 34.

good luck everyone hope lots of festive good news this month 🤞

Marie1990x · 07/12/2024 08:29

@lynzmb @Kinderbueno89 another recommendation for easy@ home here! Along side the Premom app you can’t go wrong 😊, so simple to use. I’ve used a few different brands and for me none of them are anywhere near as good as the easy@ home ones.
Also, I start testing around CD8 once a day and then when it darkens twice a day (if not three sometimes).

How is everyone getting on? I had a fair few wines last night at a Christmas party, oops.

Does this look like just one line on my progesterone test? I’m thinking it is so that means I ovulated 5 days ago or more which is great news 🤞
