got myself together and accepted it's a negative this month. What does everyone do to keep their stress down when TTC? I work a very stressful job 🤦🏼‍♀️ and ttc driving me to a level of insanity 🤣

Oh it's a lot isn't it?! And TTC is so distracting it makes getting work done even harder! We have internal coaches available where I work so I've recently taken on a coach to support me in getting my mindset in the right place and to work on my time management and prioritisation. I'm doing a session every other week at the moment and find it's giving me the space I need to get my thoughts out and in order and to set myself a bit of an action plan to keep me on track and keep me sane!

Yeah it's so crazy isn't it!! I guess it shows why it's so important to test twice a day during fertile window as you genuinely could miss it! Feels weirdly validating to see it lighten though doesn't it?!

100%! So easy to miss it.

I read somewhere if it stays peak for a while your body could still be trying to get the surge to actually ovulate? Saying that I’ve read loads and there’s so much conflicting information so I don’t know what to believe anymore 😂.

Anyway it’s done now, so just another couple more days of DTD then it’s out of my control

Aw 😟 do you have any children? How many cycles have you been trying? It really is a stressful journey, I feel like no one warns you of that!!

No TTC number 1 and this our second month trying so not far in at all, just don’t enjoy the two week wait!

MyGardenDaisies · 01/12/2024 21:45

@ljb23 gym, meditation, speaking with partner or girlfriends, mumsnet makes me feel like I’m not alone in my obsessive TTC journey haha, pleasant distractions - planning trips, days out, shopping, etc.

keeping life full in other areas.
but it’s still health anxiety inducing for me, so I’m also preventing stress by throwing money at private testing and supplements to feel like I’m “in control” 😅

@kateb149 7dpo here! I've felt a bit crampy but I'm not sure ice really had many signs of implantation before except when I was pregnant last I did have some spotting one evening and I was expecting my period to come and it didn't so I tested either the day I was due or the day after.

@KT199 i wouldn't worry about not having any symptoms still so early! I have some early strip tests I'm going to try and hold off a few days and then take one as I know it's too early 😅

@fashionlover123 I recently had a friend not test positive until 14/15dpo she was convinced she wasn't pregnant but she was! Always some hope until aunt flo arrives!!

Oh that’s interesting, you’ll have to let us know if you notice any other symptoms before you test!

I know i’ll be testing again soon 😅 it’s sooo early but i’ve got my christmas party on Weds so I kind of want to see if any lines come up before then x

Mines on Friday! I’m 8DPO and due Friday, so if AF hasn’t arrived early in the day I’ll be doing a test to ensure I get in a few glasses of Prosecco as a consultation prize!! Will be my first drink in 4 months if that’s the case🤣 I’d much prefer the 2 lines but it least I’ll have a fun night out to distract my mind from the sadness!

Good luck to you, hope you get your BFP 🤞✨

Urgh... just had a bit of an argument with the hubby. I'm ovulating today and as I've gone to initiate BD he's started saying we shouldn't feel so pressured and still need to enjoy it. He doesn't realise how much more pressure saying that has put on me. I got quite upset - tried to explain that there will always be pressure when TTC especially as we've had multiple early losses and I'm now nearly 39. He just doesn't get it as he's a man who's sperm will work til he dies! He's also very chilled and relaxed and usually this is a great pairing with my hot headedness and worrying but it would be nice if he could just understand just once why he should also be a bit less laid back about this.

Urgh! I'm now trying to console myself enough to want to go back upstairs and DTD. He did come round in the end and does get it but his efforts to try and help me enjoy the process and relax have had the complete opposite effect!!

Sorry for the rant! Just needed to vent!!

Aghhh I feel you, it’s so infuriating that they just don’t get it sometimes isn’t it. My husband has only just seemed to understand the importance of timing, 2 years later!
Rant away here all you like, we all get it x

My first pregnancy was a mmc, I have three children plus two chemical pregnancies. This is the third time I've ovulated since the summer but my first cycle with a period. It never comes back fully while I'm breastfeeding which is a shame as I would of loved to have number 3 and hopefully 4 closer together. My third was 3 this autumn but my older two are only 18months apart (breastfeeding didn't work out with my oldest) so I guess it's our first proper month but we haven't used protection since the spring and by symptom spotting and ovulation sticks managed to catch ovulation twice

Have you been trying for long?

Did you just get random periods with breastfeeding? I’m still feeding my first and have just had my first period but I’m not convinced my cycle is going to resume normally

Hen2000 · 02/12/2024 06:40

With my middle I breastfed for 3 years. I had signs of ovulate avout 2 years when we stopped feeding at night. Migrain and lower back ache thst I started tracking as headaches are very rare for me then I used ovulation tests which said I was ovulating. He turned 3 in the may, I had a small amount t of spotting the November before and nothing else until we completely stopped.

With my youngest he was just over 3 but fed more than my middle. I had some bleeding during the summer I can't remember what month board it was on but u was hoping it was implantation but it wasn't. That was my first time ovulating. I ovulated once month before we stopped breastfeeding. I started bleeding the day after we stopped completely which I counted as a period and was in the Nov boards. I did ovulate but had my actual first period which was about 3 weeks after we stopped. That period was the start of this cycle.

I've found to ovulate I need to go a minimum of 12 hours between feeds and sometimes I was doing a tiny feed to get them back to sleep early morning which is why I believe i didn't ovulate this time around until really late.

I was convinced I may of missed ovulation this month (ended up ovulating really late) as last month by peak and drop was super fast too!

I got pregnant whilst breastfeeding and my cycles were slightly longer than normal. Ovulation tests didn’t even find a peak so I think I must have ovulated early/ late and missed it and we just got really lucky with the timing. I think I had 2 periods and then got pregnant.
Makes it more confusing why I’m not yet pregnant now my cycles are regular and I ovulation test!

That’s what i’m thinking! Although i’ll only be 9DPO on mine so I feel like it’ll still be too early to tell 😅 but I rarely ever drink so I might treat myself to a wine or two!

Good luck and lots of baby dust ✨☺️ x

Mumzydarling12 · 02/12/2024 07:58

Hello ladies! I have been very quiet so here is a quick recap… I’m 36 TTC baby number 4. 6 year gap since my last one. Cycle number 7 now I think of TTC. No problem previously conceiving. Previous cycles I have been testing ovulation and early testing etc so this cycle I have decided to do none of that. Can’t deal with the added pressure and disappointment. Anyway I’m pretty much thinking this month is a no go already! My cycles are normally 28days like clockwork. However last month annoyingly it was 30day (was convinced I was pregnant) so according to my tracker I would be ovulating later this month, (yesterday) but my body was telling me I ovulated a few days ago and pretty sure we have missed my fertile week. We have all been ill with nasty colds and my daughter 8 has had a nasty double ear infection. So no time to DTD. Although we did a few times just before my fertile week and also last night but as I say I think we missed our window. I’m due 15th December and already fully expecting AF to show this month. I won’t be early testing and just wait for AF this time round. Will keep you all updated. Also wishing lots of baby dust everyone’s way. ☺️❤️

MummyV2021 · 02/12/2024 08:13

So I'm officially 1DPO and in the TWW crew! Let's see how sane I manage to stay and how long I hold off testing! (I started at 7DPO last month which is just stupid early!). I feel like we've honestly given it our best shot this cycle as have really upped the BDing! Going to go once more today and then have a breather for a few days... we're both exhausted! (Hence the argument last night). Thanks for the solidarity @Marie1990x 🥰

@Kateb149 @KT199 I like how both of you are thinking! Hubby and I have a date day this Saturday where I'll be 6DPO so I'm thinking still in the buffer zone where I can have a wine or 2 and hopefully be my last drink for 9 months 😉

Officially welcome @Mumzydarling12 sending baby dust to you too!! I hope you did manage to catch it this month! I hope the not testing helps you feel more sane too! I'm going to try and not test until at least 12dpo but we'll see!

MyGardenDaisies · 02/12/2024 08:19

@MummyV2021 Its frustrating but you wouldn’t want to have sex when the other is not in the mood, or if the roles were reversed feel like you have to have sex when you’re not in the mood.

I think the pressure/timed intercourse does put unsexy pressure on both.

But totally get how frustrating it is as a woman to be peeing on sticks and tracking ovulation, probably researching and taking supplements, making lifestyle changes, tracking CM, temperature, god knows what for weeks and then when it comes to the few days in the month to then have issues with doing the supposedly “fun” part.

I’m 1dpo today too, let the crazy commence! I ordered some tests over the weekend after saying I wouldn’t this time. Bunch of cheapie easy @ homes and 2 FRER (just in case 😅), so I’m all set.

I think we’ve just got today left to dtd on SMEP? Then a day off and once more? I don’t even know if I’ll be able to today, I’m exhausted 😂

Oh definitely see your point and I know that's sort of what he was getting at but there is an element of TTC where you do have to accept there's an element of doing it because you have to not necessarily because you want to... my sex drive is nowhere near high enough to want to do it 5+ times a week 🙈🤣 the irony is... he would happily DTD every day of the year, he objected on my behalf haha! So I had to give him brownie points for that! I'm definitely putting pressure on myself and trying not to!

How many DPO do you normally start testing?

blackberryhill · 02/12/2024 09:50

Morning all - hope everyone's doing okay? @Leafytwigg congratulations on the BFP!

7DPO here, having been super chill last cycle I'm now symptom spotting like mad 😂Had bad lower backache and some cramps on Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning and now quite headachy (which is probably just dehydration but let me kid myself that it means something!)

Does anyone else track their heart rate on a fitness tracker? I'm a regular wearer and like tracking my steps, energy levels etc but since TTC I've become a bit obsessed with monitoring my heart rate during my luteal phase, to the point where I'm starting to think I might need to stop wearing it. Anyone else had this problem?

CoolSummer89 · 02/12/2024 10:31

@blackberryhill
Ah 7dpo is the worst, your progesterone is at your highest so your body will do some odd things. The good news though is this means you have def ovulated!
What I have learnt from my 10 months (eek) tracking or so and also from seeing other people's pregnancy charts, is that in the luteal phase any symptom / stat just shows that you have ovulated and not much else. It's only when you get to 11 or 12 dpo that anything is significant, but even then maybe not. So heart rate going up is just another sign that we've ovulated.
Ideally we would just use tracking to predict and then confirm ovulation and then at about 7dpo try and have a blissful week not thinking about it until our period's arrive (or not). However it's not that simple and only you know what works best for you. If you need to remove all the tracking for peace then do that.
I went a bit loco last month when I tried NOT to track anything and then ended up symptom spotting like crazy and testing earlier than I usually would! So this month I am testing every morning and just allowing myself 30 mins to dwell and then move on for rest of the day. But again, only you know what will work best. Sending love and strength for the next few days.

MyGardenDaisies · 02/12/2024 10:58

@CoolSummer89 ”try and have a blissful week” got me chuckling haha I can only dream of that!

7DPO is when I start to be hyper aware of every twinge and ache etc 😅

Hi all,
I thought we were successful last month with faint lines showing and AF being 4days late, however we were not. So I'm joining the Dec thread, and hopefully it will be our turn. Would be a lovely way to start 2025.

Good luck lovelies 😀
