Hi @HNM I'm also breastfeeding my 18 month old and wondering if it will affect my chances of getting pregnant. My 1st was combined fed so I got my periods pretty quickly so conceiving my 2nd wasn't such a worry at the time. But with my 2nd I ebf and only got my periods at the end of this August and so have only had 2 periods which was a long cycle over 40 days. Like you I'm not bf constantly but she loves her bm and I feed to sleep. I posted a thread on here asking about getting pregnant while bf and there were positive experiences so hoping for both us!

Kinderbueno89 · 10/11/2024 14:45

I’m also out this morning, AF arrived this morning. As I was unwrapping another pregnancy test 😭. Feeling hopeful for the next month!

Lemonyfire · 10/11/2024 16:05

I'm feeling a bit deflated. I had my first mc in between my two dc all conceived easily. Fast forward 10 years, it took about 19 months to conceive , found out Xmas day last year and then miscarried in January at around 8 weeks. Then 3 months later was pregnant again and we lost our little girl at 16 weeks pregnant in August. We had a break for a month and this is only second month trying, however feels so much longer as I've been trying and losing my pregnancies for nearly 3 years, and this month I've been particularly obsessive as I'm just aware I should have been heavily pregnant gearing up to maternity leave now. I'm 10dpo and wish I could put down the tests as not even a squinter and having quite tell tale af cramps.
From experience I know I'll feel very low until af arrives and then be filled with hope of a new month, and then just this horrible cycle continues. I'm 36 now and wondering whether it's time to just accept it might not happen for us and stop putting myself through this?

MyGardenDaisies · 10/11/2024 16:59

I have gone down the rabbit hole 🫠😂

10DPO and don’t have any sensitive tests at home, just a pack of 25miu/ml, but had the itch to POAS anyways, so I did it. I even went on some random site that “analyses “ tests and it’s inverted it.
Can anyone see a v v faint shadow?? 😂
I know the test is designed for about 14DPO so I’m wasting my time but I said to myself I wouldn’t spend any more money on tests!

@MyGardenDaisies at first glance I can see a second shadowy line, if I stare it's harder to see but when I first looked I noticed it x

MyGardenDaisies · 10/11/2024 17:08

@Lemonyfire same! I’ve been symptom spotting too and think I’ve got fatigue and sore boobs. I really hope it’s our month and I’m not gonna end up crying in the bathroom like last month

Lemonyfire · 10/11/2024 17:13

@MyGardenDaisies I'm keeping everything crossed for an obvious non questionable line for you tomorrow x

HNM · 10/11/2024 20:58

@Tryingfor3rd I'm just concerned about my progesterone as I'd heard that breastfeeding can affect it - others say it doesn't though! I exclusively breastfed but got my cycles back about 6 weeks after my C-section. I'm breastfeeding now but not constantly as she's in solids etc. but I do feed multiple times during the day, it's such a comfort for her and of course me too. How quickly did you conceive your 2nd? I'll have to have a look at your breastfeeding thread Xx

Hey

Weds hcg 269 and Fridays were 338 so 25% increase but not the best unfortunately. Got to go back tomorrow evening for another blood test to see if they go any higher. It'll either be I am pregnant but the pregnancy isn't growing the rate it should be or I'm earlier than I thought but I'm not feeling hopeful. They did see something on my internal scan Wednesday in my uterus

But either way my hcg levels should of doubled from Wednesday shouldn't they of

Hey dear, know exactly how you feel, it s hard but trust your body he knows what s best for you, good luck with the next test i hope it will unfold in a positive way. We will be here for support if you need any. Just know from someone who's been through this that stressing wont help... good luck

Heartypandaa · 10/11/2024 21:30

@CoolSummer89 bravo for making this huge effort 🥰
How many dpo are you?
I m still having a crazy cycle not sure when af will show.

I have a question for all the ladies who have been trying for more than a year, do u still supplement with folic acid? Even after a year?

Hi everyone, would like to join in here too! :)
This is my first month TTC after a MMC in September. I’m currently 8dpo, and obsessively googling every tiny cramp or ‘symptom’ (which is what led me here!)
My partner and I are desperate to conceive, especially after going through the trauma of a MMC (found out at 12 week scan with no prior indication anything was wrong), so I’m really putting the pressure on myself this month. I know the pressure probably won’t help me, especially as this is my first cycle since the MMC. I really can’t think about anything else!

Anyway, that’s my story currently.. looking forward to joining you all here!

I m sorry for your lose 😔
I know the obsession doesnt go away ! After many cycle i am still here looking and learning about our amazing bodies.
Good luck on your journeys

JW24M · 10/11/2024 21:35

Hope everyone is ok ❤️ new week starts tomorrow. I always feel the most sad about this ttc stuff on a sunday, think it’s cause i’ve less on so think about it more… but fertile window I believe starts tomorrow. I’m just hoping this breathing space without bbt/lh has relaxed us more.
Sending baby dust to anyone in their TWW, and love to anyone who’s af has arrived. Crossing fingers and toes we get some BFP’s on this chain soon! Xx

MyGardenDaisies · 10/11/2024 22:03

Thank you @JW24M , good luck to you too!

I have moved into anxiety now

I conceived my 2nd on 3rd cycle, it was the 1st time we tried sperm meets egg plan (smep) which meant dtd nearly everyday until after ovulation so was very tiring! It was also the month I chose not to track ovulation using opks and used cm only so was happily surprised when I got that bfp. This month I will be very surprised if I get bfp as we could not dtd a couple of days during my peak which was based only on cm so hoping some sperm survived. If this month is unsuccessful then I'll use opks next month and may do smep again.

HollyGolightly4 · 11/11/2024 06:38

Hope everyone is ok. I'm 7dpo and feeling so nervous.

I have an internal scan today.

Lemonyfire · 11/11/2024 07:12

@Heartypandaa nearly 3 years and yes I still take folic acid and was prescribed the high 5mg dose by Doctor. It would be to support the pregnancy rather than fertility I think so it's important to take it

MyGardenDaisies · 11/11/2024 07:32

Is this a v faint line forming? Tell me if I’m making it up! Period due tomorrow, 11DPO today, not a sensitive test.

I woke up in the night with such bad cramping, I’m 9dpo today and think my period is probably just going to come early. :(

Sending everyone good luck for this week x

wouldlovearoast · 11/11/2024 07:42

Morning ladies! Lovely to see lots of positives over the weekend.
As I prepare for TTC cycle 4, just wondering if any of you use vitamins / supplements to help fertility or if you have heard of success stories from anyone else using them?
I'm using folic acid, I've tried VIT DNA and coq10 but so far not worked and they are expensive, may just try folic acid moving forward?
Also what's your thoughts on drinking when TTC? I don't drink a huge amount but wondering to cut down even more or all together?

HollyGolightly4 · 11/11/2024 08:06

I've cut down alcohol hugely (not that I drank loads 😆) I did sober for the whole of September, largely for the whole of October. I've had a few events that I wanted to drink at in November (busy month) so I decided to not feel guilty about having a few drinks, but only on event days. I don't know if this is right or not!

Mammyplease · 11/11/2024 08:18

Congrats to all the Bfp's, I'm out this morning after what feels like the longest cycle I've had in my life and I was completely convinced I was pregnant, even started looking at what to buy in bed last night (totally silly behaviour I know!) what a start to a Monday 😕, I now know my periods have changed and my cycle is not 28 days anymore but a good bit longer, leaves me feeling confused and starting to worry have I left it too late now for number 2 as clearly something is changing. Sending lots of luck to everyone for the rest of the month and hope to see some more positive news 🙏❤️ x

LolaJ87 · 11/11/2024 08:21

I don’t really drink much anyway so while I wouldn’t go out and party while in the 2WW, I wouldn’t worry about having a drink or 2 once a week until you get a positive.

Also I was asking for some advice on OPKs a while ago since mine were so faint. Just wanted to warn anyone else on the thread not to bother using One Step! I finally got some Easy @ Home tests delivered yesterday (not easy to get in Ireland for some reason) and my first test gave me a reading of 0.76 (vs the 0.08 I got on the One Step). I’m a bit annoyed as I may have completely missed my peak and I was worried there was something wrong with me.

JessicaViolet · 11/11/2024 08:26

Morning ladies. 12dpo today and still feeling rough as a badgers ass 😂 took an easy@home 10miu test this morning and it was bfn so I'm now starting to think my symptoms are down to me coming off the pill in august 🤷🏻‍♀️
