Hi lovely ladies, just looking for some positive stories of going to CRP clinic ? My back story I have had a chemical then a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks ( baby stopped growing at 6 weeks) then another chemical. I went to CRP clinic three weeks ago and spent £3,300 on tests, everything came back normal apart from the Cytoxicity NK cells (activation of Nk Cells in pregnancy state) normal is below 20 percent and mine are at 26 percent. I suppose I’m just concerned is this really the reason for my 3 loses ?! I hope it is and that the treatment plan can be successful ! He’s put me on superovulation, infusion before ovulation then prednisone and infusion then test. Also taking viagra to help with the lining. I’m having this month off as partner is away so starting next month. I’m so worried about the steroids. Also I’m hoping he will be able to help with my lining. Does anyone know what he will do if my lining is thin on scan day? My last clinic I was at did nothing. No wonder it wasn’t successful. CRP seem great so far just expensive !!! Any comments and replies are so so welcomed

@Objectiontime I am so sorry u feel law and I think I know exactly what u mean. My first baby should be 1, 2nd 6 months and the 3rd 2 months! And in the meantime today I am waiting for my period!! It feels like u are stuck and life goes on…everything reminds u of that…it’s horrible but good days are coming! We will go through this and we will have our babies! It’s only a matter of time! It’s hard and u wonder why is so hard for u while others seem to pop babies like nothing…It will happen and it will be all worthy! Sending u a big hug!!

Ahh thank you so much for your kind words @Rainbowchaser87 . We are so much in the same page, as I know others will be. Thinking of you too and you are right, let’s keep the positive vibes going x

CarpeDiem75 · 06/05/2025 20:05

@SWMum9 so didn’t turn out well for me started bleeding so looks like I need HCQ after all 😞 I am feeling so down and drained with the whole thing it really thought it would work this time with the steroid.. I feel so let down by my body 😭😭

AgnesTTC · 11/05/2025 19:20

Hi All!
After 3 chemical pregnancies within the last 6 months, I have decided to try CRP. My first appointment is on Tuesday. I’m hopeful again… so many stories of success.
I’m trying to prepare my budget, did everyone’s test come to approx. 3K before starting any treatment?

Rainbowchaser87 · 11/05/2025 23:08

@AgnesTTC hi! Sorry you find urself in the group that no one wants to be part of!
pretty much my first blood test came just under 3K. However I have to say it gets easier to manage financially with time especially if u get pregnant pretty quickly! Wishing u all the best! U made the right decision to visit prof. Shehata! Xx

AgnesTTC · 13/05/2025 13:01

@Rainbowchaser87Thank you!

Just been for the first visit with CRP. The number of blood tests is no joke, no wonder it’s 3K, they took 20 small vials of blood! Still, I’m glad we went. The NHS consultant in Croydon hospital was saying that the next step would be IVF with DNA check. Prof Shehata thinks IVF is unnecessary, since we don’t have a problem getting pregnant, we have a problem staying pregnant.
I’m dreading getting a positive just to have a negative a few days later.
The last chemical pregnancy stuck around for enough days to confirm pregnancy via blood test as well, but the blood tests do not show the why of it failing.
I’m somewhere between convincing myself that the next time we try I will not test 3 times a day just to make sure it’s still there, and between just accepting that I’m a crazy person and buy pregnancy tests in bulk in advance.

Objectiontime · 13/05/2025 21:12

@AgnesTTC Welcome to the immune therapy journey with us. Very much wishing you every success.

AgnesTTC · 13/05/2025 21:55

@Objectiontime Thank you!
I’m so glad you guys made this thread. It’s nice being able to read and write about this and not being a burden on friends who probably don’t want to talk about this or aren’t able to commiserate.

Rainbowchaser87 · 15/05/2025 22:52

@AgnesTTC I m glad u went to CRP! 2 weeks now for results right? Keep us posted ❤️

@Objectiontime how are u holding up darling?

@Hope646 hey darling how are you? Xx

Hope646 · 15/05/2025 23:05

@Rainbowchaser87 hey lovely .. I am ok. Still here, trying. It’s my 7dpo so going to be testing in 3 days. I have no hope tbh.. feel no symptoms at all. This cycle I was on 10mg letrozole and still got one follicle. Next cycle they will put me on 12.5mg. I doubt it will make any difference. I mean if a high dosage of 10mg didn’t help, I doubt my body will react differently with 12.5mg. I was ovulating naturally anyway. I never had issue with conception but this time it seems to be taking too long which is stressing me even more.
How are you doing?

AgnesTTC · 15/05/2025 23:24

@Rainbowchaser87Yes. Now it’s the 2 weeks wait for test results. And no trying in the meantime. It’s odd, on one hand it feels like every cycle not trying is waisted, on the other hand the 3rd loss kicked my butt. I’m grateful that there is this forced stop for a moment. I’ll take this one month of not obsessing and constantly peeing on a stick…
How about you? How are you feeling? Where are you in the trying cycle?

CarpeDiem75 · 16/05/2025 07:45

@Hope646i have been on letrozole on and off for years. The last few times I got pregnant (despite I miscarried!) I was on 7.5mg and only had one mature follicle. I was really annoyed but in the end I managed to get pregnant with only one so it is doable. The thing that made a massive difference (couldn’t get pregnant at all for years even with letrozole) was to start using Preseed during intercourse. Not sure if it can help you too. Wishing you all the best! xx

KeenUser · 16/05/2025 11:12

Hey ladies just reading your lovely success stories with Dr shehata.

@Meg310532 hows your journey being pregnant going?
@CarpeDiem75 how did you find letrozole?

CarpeDiem75 · 16/05/2025 11:55

@KeenUser I really like Letrozole never had any side effects and it is cheap!!🙈 I do think it works but it depends of your body. I know Clomid was not working for me du to my PCOS morphology. Are you starting treatment? What is your protocol? Are you under the NHS?

Rainbowchaser87 · 16/05/2025 21:39

@Hope646 I hope this month is ur month dear!!!!!🙏🏽 did they offer u Gonal-f as option?
I went natural this month…haven’t tried with Letrozole. Still early days haven’t ovulated yet! I know exactly what u mean! I also always felt pregnant quite quickly but this time seems different…perhaps the body is resting a little?
keep me posted ❤️

@AgnesTTC yes, maybe this month of break will be good for you❤️ I am OK I guess? Waiting to ovulate and hopefully get pregnant 🙏🏽 Some days are easier than others but we will get there 🙏🏽💪🏽

Hope646 · 17/05/2025 16:27

@Rainbowchaser87 thank you so much. If this cycle, I don’t fall pregnant, I might email them if I could start on 15mg rather than 12.5mg. And if that doesn’t work, I may choose to go natural.
she did mention gonal-f very briefly. Have you ever been on it?
wish you all the luck for this cycle. It’s a very draining process mentally and emotionally especially the 2ww period.

@CarpeDiem75 thank you so much for the tip. I have started using preseed the last 2 cycle. I have heard it helps. Let’s see. Where are you in this process?

Hope646 · 18/05/2025 08:43

@Rainbowchaser87 tested this morning and it was a bfn 😭 this is so draining.
for the new cycle I don’t know whether to try without letrozole or just one more try but with 15mg letrozole rather than 12.5mg.

Rainbowchaser87 · 18/05/2025 15:22

@Hope646 ohh sorry!!!! It’s so exhausting isn’t it! I feel u!
I never been on Gonl-F but it’s my next alternative as Letrozole worked for me but I had thin lining of the uterus since I started it so maybe that could be a side effect of-the drug? How thick was ur lining with Letrozole? Xx

AgnesTTC · 19/05/2025 18:29

@Hope646I’m sorry. That sucks. Why don’t you ask them for pro and con of 12.5 vs 15 mg? Maybe that will help with decision? I like to read studies to know my chances. I don’t know if it will help you cope, but here is something that al least advocates that higher doses like 12.5mg can work well. Don’t give up. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3236406/

The Use of High Dose Letrozole in Ovulation Induction and Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation - PMC

Letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor, has been demonstrated to be effective as an ovulation induction and controlled ovarian hyperstimulation agent. However, dose administration has generally been limited to 5 days at 2.5 to 7.5 mg daily. We undertook ...

Hope646 · 20/05/2025 17:12

@Rainbowchaser87 my lining was satisfactory. Dr. Edge was happy with the thickness. if i am looking at the right metric, the uterus edo. thickness was 12.0m. The reason she doesn't want to jump to 15mg is in case I overreact and i get too many follicles. In that case, she won't give me trigger shot. so that's why she is increasing dosage slowly.
Was it because of thin lining, you are trying without Letrozole?

@AgnesTTC thank you so much for sharing the info. How are you doing?

Rainbowchaser87 · 22/05/2025 09:35

@Hope646 yes ur lining is perfect! I can’t know for sure if it was Letrozole causing me a thin lining but I felt like Inshould give my body a chance to do it by itself. Let’s see how it goes this month and will move from there 🙏🏽
I can’t wait to be out of this season!!!

Hope646 · 24/05/2025 00:27

@Rainbowchaser87 yh especially if you are ovulating naturally. Sometimes I get the feeling to go back to trying naturally especially when i do ovulate. I will see how this month goes.l with high dosage of letrozole.
wish you alll the luck 🙏🏻 may this be your month. Keep us posted x

CarpeDiem75 · 24/05/2025 22:57

@Hope646i am just having a pause as I miscarried 3 weeks ago. It was a chemical so I will wait for my next cycle to start and see if we try again. Not sure whether to try without letrozole or without! I have started hydroxychloroquine again on Monday let’s see how I cope with it this time around… not sure what to do next if this doesn’t work! Fingers crossed this month works!

AgnesTTC · 28/05/2025 22:11

Hi Guys. I had the second visit on Tuesday with all the results. I’m still digesting the information and researching everything! It looks like I have 3 different immune system issues! Could be a case of a good type of bad news? All are associated with miscarriages. There is at least something to treat. My thyroid antibodies are very high, but no thyroid diffusion yet? Odd. Cytokine ratio too high… so I’ll get two injections of Adalimumab before we even start trying. Anybody had these shots before?
Hilariously I’ll get a steroid Prednisolone. JUST LIKE MY CAT 😂
He is also putting me on Letrozole, but not until July. It’s hard to wait and not try another month.
Let’s see what happens…

@Rainbowchaser87 how is it going? Where are you in the cycle? How is the lining? Are you getting viagra too improve the thickness?

@Hope646whats the verdict 12.5 or 15mg? By the way I have PCOS so always too many follicles with Letrozole. I don’t get the trigger shot (3 times now) but ovulate and get pregnant without it, obviously I’m having issues with actually keeping the pregnancy, but my point is don’t think that without the shot it is a waisted cycle! Good luck!

@CarpeDiem75 I’m so sorry, chemical miscarriage sucks. I hate the process of it, the happiness followed by heartbreak. For me it’s the confusion of the few days of “is the line fainter?” I obsessively test to reassure myself it’s going okay and it stops going ok. Hang in there! It will get better, I will keep my fingers crossed for you for this cycle!!

Hello everyone, firstly just wanted to thank you all for sharing you experiences.

I'm feeling so lost and broken, I've had 2 chemical losses and 1 MMC in the last year and went to Dr. Shehata in April after advice from 2 friends who were successfully treated by him. They both had NKC and they had the immune therapy and now have healthy children thanks to him. I had all my hopes in his basket, convinced I would have NKC and do the immune therapy and it would be all fine. But i had my results last week and he hasn't found anything wrong with me. Now i'm lost again. I don't know what to do - has anyone else had this experience with him? I thought he would have the answer but he doesn't, there's no clear path.
He's given me a few options - 1. try naturally with progesterone. 2. immune therapy treatment (his reasoning being that maybe i have an underlying immune issue that hasn't shown up --- has anyone else had this??) 3. superovulation & immune therapy together.
I'm nervous of superovulation - i don't really understand any of it.
I am so sad there wasn't a clear problem for him to fix, for my pregnancy losses to be unexplained feels worse then knowing i have a problem. It's ruining my life. I know you all know how it feels, i'm sorry x

patti436 · 29/05/2025 21:13

sorry just to add - i've been taking the recommended vitamins that he gives you on that card. I've not been paying attention to the time of day i'm meant to take them, i just have them all in the morning. Does anyone know if it matters about the time of day?
