Hi ladies!
CD 1 for me today, so I’m moving over from the July thread and starting this one (don’t think there is already one).
Anyone else now ttc for a BFP in August??

@BlueberryPoppy123 as @LucyCL says, there doesn't seem to be a big shift in any of those temps. I use premom too but I do find their temps hard to read. Either way it looks like you have DTD'd enough to give yourself a good chance.

@KGeeGee DTDing 2/3 days before ovulation still gives you a good chance I think. I think 1-2 days before are the days with the best chance of success. I hear you on the week versus weekend debate. My cycles are 27 days long, my next O day is a friday, which means I have to do working week DTD for the next cycles at least!

@cocodaisy perfectly natural not to feel as positive at this stage in the cycle. Ovulation makes us feel giddy, and the days post-ovulation we're a bit more... realistic. Fertility experts say testing from 12dpo is the most reliable. If you have a sensitive test you might be able to pick up a faint line from 9/10dpo. Best of luck.

BlueberryPoppy123 · 05/08/2024 11:18

So I could be in for a super longer cycle thankyou this is my first month tracking bbt and I'm not really very informed on what sort of things to expect with it. Hopefully it doesn't come in the next few days as husbands away again might start opks again x

O-3 and O-2 are good days to TTC!

Oh, really? I didn't realise that. I've got a lot to learn here!!

I don't think you have yet to ovulate based on BBT. There is always a sharp rise in BBT after ovulation.

What are your thoughts on this graph and ovulation date? I think I’m 6dpo today. Had the most intense cramping yesterday it was so painful but not sure if it was from something I ate/bloating. It was stronger than normal period pains but didn’t last longer than 5 minutes.

Would help if I added the attachment!

There is the biggest BBT dip on CD19 which indicates a huge rise in estrogen. It triggered LH to spike on the same day. CD20 was the O day. You had a slow BBT rise which might mean you had low progesterone to start with but oral BBT can be easily affected by many external factors. So far your graph looks normal to me.
I will show my CBT chart for you to compare with. You had the most intense cramping which is normal because it could be caused by ovulation and the rise in progesterone level. It'd be too early to be caused by implantation.
Today is also 6 dpo for me and I didn't sleep well last night. I expect to see another increase in your BBT tomorrow then a BBT dip on 8 dpo then back up again afterwards.

Hi ladies. Interesting comments on BBT. Mine is pretty erratic this time round (TTC my second). Previously they’d be pretty similar before ovulation and pretty similar after so the lines were more straight than jagged. Wondering if the hot weather is to blame/switching to a very thin sheet certain nights. I have to say though my sleep isn’t as uninterrupted now with my toddler so maybe it’s because I’m testing all over the place in terms of the time I check my temp. Praying it’s something like this and not a hormonal prob which is going to make things difficult for me. Can’t really attach much right now as I’m still pre ovulation so hard to interpret any graph.

elsa15 · 05/08/2024 16:38

Hello!!
Not sure if I should be in the July or August thread?? Ovulated in July but testing in August!! I’ve posted in both but I guess I’ll stick to this thread and it’s now August?? Ha!

Currently at 8dpo, did a test this morning & afternoon (I know I shouldn’t but I can’t help it!!) think I see something but as usual it’s probs line eyes and it’s way too early to tell. Told myself I’d wait until 10dpo to test again but I know myself too well and I’ll be doing it again tomorrow morning! Praying this is our month!

SkaterChick · 05/08/2024 19:57

Hey everyone. Just checking back in. I took some time out after the disappointment of last month (5 days late)
I'm cd 9, yesterday and today I had only faint lines on my opks, slight bit of ewcm today so hopefully my peak is on its way!

MrsKurz · 05/08/2024 20:15

So I think we’re out this month, first month trying, annoying. We managed to hit O-3 and O-1, were planning to also get O and O+1 but my husband has got a stomach bug… so that’s not gonna happen! Oh well. I might POAS around 11/12 DPO anyway just to see, but I doubt that will be enough this time. Better luck next month I guess

WrittenThatWay · 05/08/2024 20:27

Hi everyone, thought I’d say hi! Ttc #1, on my third cycle, AF due on Wednesday. I had a feeling this month would be my month (delusional much?) but I tested negative yesterday on 11 dpo, so I think I’m out for the month.

What LH tests are people using? I know roughly when I’m ovulating but I’ve been using the boots own brand LH tests, and I’m getting inconsistent results. This month they were all negative (like completely, stark white negative) until the day after I thought I’d ovulated based on dates, when I did get a second line but only quite faint, so I don’t know if I missed the peak or tested too soon or what. I think for next month I’ll just get some cheapie strips and try and do it a bit more consistently. I also had two of the five day early pregnancy tests this month but I don’t think I’ll repurchase because I think I’ll end up driving myself insane!

I’m due on Friday and on my 11 dpo currently too with a bfn this morning. Brown discharge with some light pink blood since yesterday but I feel my period is coming.

feeling super low tonight.

i use the easy@home lh tests alongn with the Premom app. I dtd 0-2, 0-1. Hubby then went into shifts and didn’t see each other after that until 0+2.

meggie1tr · 05/08/2024 21:19

Sorry if this a TMI question but how long are we waiting to pee after DTD?

I've heard mixed things such as 15-30 mins to give us the best possible chance but I've also heard that's a myth and it's okay to get up and pee straight after.

I try and just lay for at least 15 mins 😂 maybe psychological but I think it helps reduce leakage for me! 🤣🤣

lv565 · 05/08/2024 21:25

I’m feeling super low tonight too. I’m on 10dpo today (1st cycle ttc) according to my natural cycles app. My temperature dropped last night and I have cramps today, so I think my period is on its way. I have a short luteal phase, usually 11 days.

However, I did think I felt ovulation pains on the evening of day 17, which would only just put me 9dpo around now. There’s a slight possibility it could be a drop in BBT due to implantation and these are implantation cramps, but I’m not holding out much hope for that as they feel very much like AF.

I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. AF will be here or I will do a test.

@WrittenThatWay I use cheap ovulation tests strips I got on Amazon. No idea who makes them!

It’s such a tough process isn’t it. I haven’t told anyone we’re ttc but Al is an to do now I send a message to my girl group chat and tell them how I’m feeling but then I also don’t want them to feel sorry for me or ask me about it each month.

let us know how you get on. Do you have anything to look forward to over the coming months to keep you busy?

lv565 · 05/08/2024 21:57

@OliveTraybake I don’t have much planned for the rest of the year. I’ve just had a week off work and I’ve had my big holiday for this year in March. We did talk about treating ourselves to a really good holiday in January if we aren’t pregnant by then (which would be after 6 cycles). I do have a full-time job and my own business so I’ll get stuck more into that and try and distract myself.

Don’t count yourself out yet - your light bleeding could still be a positive sign? 🤞🏻

I just told my mum - no one else knows. It’s difficult isn’t it because you want to talk about how you’re feeling, but you don’t want the pressure from people asking. That’s why it’s good for us all to have a chat in here ☺️

WrittenThatWay · 05/08/2024 22:36

Sorry to hear you’re both feeling low @OliveTraybake and @lv565, it’s a difficult time isn’t it.

RW269 · 05/08/2024 23:31

Hello! Just jumping over from July hope everyone’s keeping their chins up 🩷

lv565 · 06/08/2024 07:20

BBT went down again last night so I’m out for this month, but I’ll be able to try again in August, it’s estimated I’ll ovulate on the 23rd, so I’ll be back around then with an update!

Good luck to those still in the TWW ☺️

Hey!

I think we're on the same cycle, I'm due on Thursday but feel like af will come any day.

I've heard quite bad reviews about the boots strips! My friend used them all of the time with both of her pregnancies and never got a positive result but fell pregnant. I've heard good reports about clear blue and this is what I'm planning to use going forward (I know they're more expensive but sounds like they're worth it)

For context I'm 34 and ttc #1 on my 5th month trying.

I've got my fingers crossed that af doesn't arrive for you this month xx

lavafield · 06/08/2024 08:16

I am also a fan of easy at home LH tests. They are so convenient, cheap and compatible with the Premom app. They also arrive in a big pack, which is great for those who test 2-3 times a day during the fertile week 😂!
I am on CD11 and will start chasing LH peak from today although it is usually around CD16-17 for me

rebecca199 · 06/08/2024 08:41

I don't understand what's going on 😩

Cycle twins!

Yeah when I looked online the reviews for the boots ones weren’t great, I think I will try a different brand next month.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you as well!
