Hi ladies!
CD 1 for me today, so I’m moving over from the July thread and starting this one (don’t think there is already one).
Anyone else now ttc for a BFP in August??

Hello - I joined earlier this month (but was spotting with AF due to start imminently) so am now on CD7 so will start tracking my LH from today.

I’m 40, TTC our second child. I know I am very fortunate to have one already - especially after our journey which was not as difficult as it can be for others, but still not great (2 losses, 7mths inbetween loss 1 before I conceived again, then another loss and another 2 months before our bubba finally stuck!)

I’m on cycle 2 of trying and am trying to be fairly relaxed (as one can be doing opks and bbts, taking coQ10, vits etc etc!)

just wanted to wish you all baby dust and speedy TWWs x

Today is 8dpo for me. I caved in and tested this morning but a BFN. I feel emotionally alot better today compared to yesterday.
Just a couple of things ive noticed, for the last few days I've been soo thirsty. No matter how much water I drink my mouth is still so dry. Is this a symptom of early pregnancy, or should I get checked at the GP?! Today I feel slightly more hydrated so we shall see.
Also last night my boob's were pretty sore but seem alot better today. I'm also getting the occasional spout of lower back pain but not sure if its just bad posture sitting at my desk at work 🤷‍♀️
I know I need to stop symptom spotting but I just can't stop. Not sure if these symptoms are just normal hormones.

I plan on testing every morning otherwise I won't know what to do with myself.

LozElle · 06/08/2024 13:24

Hi Ladies

Hope it's OK to join in! I am TTC again after a loss at 9 weeks in July. Although we've had a really tough few weeks, we feel emotionally ready to get straight back into it all again.

I got my peak LH on CD19 (counting from date of D&C). My usual cycle is 27-29 days with ovulation around CD15 so I have ovulated a little bit later than my norm which is to be expected after the MMC and D&C I guess. Not sure what that means for my chances this month but would be thrilled to get a BFP before AF returns.

I drove myself mad symptom spotting when we began TTC in January. Trying to stay a little more chilled this time!! 🙈 I'm about 6dpo now and no symptoms to report. I am expecting AF by next Tuesday 13th so will leave it until then to test🤞

Best of luck to everyone this month ✨️

I don't understand what's going on 😩

I get this too! Like a mini-peak around the end of the first week. This article seems to suggest it’s normal to get extra LH surges though - https://blog.inito.com/normal-lh-level/?amp

Lh Levels

What Does a 'Normal' LH Level Look Like?

What LH level is normal before and after ovulation? Luteinizing hormone (LH) surges around 24-36 hours before ovulation.

Hiya, hope this is okay to ask on this thread. Husband and I have decided to try for baby no2 and I came off the contraceptive pill nearly 2 weeks ago now. We have a little boy who’s birthday is in May so decided it might be better to avoid trying this month but let the pill come out of my system (I know it doesn’t need to but I feel better with this reasoning) so I bought the clear blue pink ovulation tests this morning. When I tested I got a solid smiley straight away which I wasn’t expecting as I thought the first test always was a circle while they are calculating a baseline LH level or something? I have had a lot of EWCM the last couple of days but the cheapie OPK tests I bought from Asda didn’t even have a second line to indicate ovulation. What do we think? Is clear blue legit? Thanks!

rebecca199 · 06/08/2024 17:44

Can anyone explain how to spot ovulation from CM? Do you get EWCM before ovulation or during etc? X

I used to have it for several days when I wasn't TTC, now it is usually just one or two days. Last month when I tested with OPKs, EWCM was at the end of the peak day and in the first half of the ovulation day itself. I would imagine everyone is different!

Maybe Asda cheapies already missed it? Did you take them same time as you did the digital one? As I said in another reply, last month I was surprised EWCM came after the peak

rebecca199 · 06/08/2024 18:51

@lavafield ah it must be different then as I had it today but very begative OPK! X

That would make sense, I didn’t have a cheapie one to take today as I’d run out. I guess we will just have to wait and see now!

CRMB95 · 06/08/2024 21:38

Anybody 6 dpo here? 13 months ttc baby 2 an still get impatient with the tww 😮‍💨

Zo85 · 06/08/2024 23:12

Hi ladies. Is this an LH surge or not quite yet?

How long after a test like this do you tend to ovulate? I know everyone will be different.

Thank you.

The line on the right is darker so not quite a peak yet… mine usually look like this a day before ov.

I’ve started getting heavy/sore boobs. I’m 8dpo today so thinking it might be my first symptoms of AF 😩

watermelonsoda · 07/08/2024 09:32

Morning all, currently 7DPO TTC #2. This morning I've had a lot of thin white creamy CM which I think is unusual for me at this point in my cycle (normally after O my CM dries up almost completely) do you think this could be a good sign?

I cannot remember what it was like when I became pregnant with DD1 and I didn't really track back then

Nay34 · 07/08/2024 10:35

@WrittenThatWay
How are you doing?

My AF arrived yesterday so I'm on a new cycle.

I thought it was coming so had already come to terms with it this month.

Going to test LH as soon as AF ends this cycle and keep testing until I see the surge go back down. I bought some easy home strips from Amazon, you get about 50 in a pack (I know you were asking about the boots ones so these might be a good alternative)

I've also bought some new vitamins that my friend recommended (and lots of her friends did too!)

Please share which vitamins? Were they successful in TTC? :)

Nay34 · 07/08/2024 11:19

@ScarlettSloth

Yes! Everyone she knows that's taken them has conceived, whether they truly help or not I don't know but will let you know how it turns out for me. Next month will be my first month on the new vitamins. They might not be for everyone and I'm sure it's not necessary but I'm ttc as soon as possible so giving it a good go.

This is the article:

I used these for my last pregnancy

https://amzn.eu/d/bXwT9ay

and have got them again now (it sounds really stupid but this was the brand I used for the pregnancy that stuck - so I have got them all again this time!) the coQ10 is good for egg quality but it takes about 12 weeks of taking it fornit to have the best impact. I also took/take b12 and b6 as when I had one of my private scans, the lady (an ex-midwife) said low levels of them can affect fertility..so I figured there was no harm in taking them! I’m only just starting TTC again, but have been taking these in preparation x

Yes - I only do 1 a day too :) last time I took the seven seas prenatal vits, they have discontinued the old style so I just purchased their new ones that has magnesium in it (I had previously been taking magnesium separately) but I have also seen they have vit d and the b6 and 12 in too 😂 so I may have to check I’m not going overboard and just peeing out a load of vitamins lol! xx

CoolSummer89 · 07/08/2024 15:50

I'm awaiting the results from my hormonal panel on Monday morning, I keep checking the NHS app.

Mira are doing 20% off their kits until end of tonight, would you recommend @LucyCL? It is expensive but I have just sold my wedding dress so suddenly have a bit of unexpected cash. But the ongoing cost of the tests is quite high as well..

On the other hand I am planning to cancel premom premium in two months time because if I'm not pregnant by then I get the money back that I spent on my OPKs. So might make sense to wait a few months and then see if they have a black Friday deal in November. 🤔

Lou0811 · 07/08/2024 16:09

SO….

i had my ultrasound today, to see what’s going on.

the lady started internally, of course, and began to have a thorough look. I asked if there were cysts, she didn’t say a lot but did say I was ovulating on my left side.

was in there 20/30 mins maybe? She then done an external scan too, which I found odd.

she said there is nothing sinister and to wait to get results.

since the probe went inside, I feel quite irritated down below.

I was off to get some can eaten but before I did, I thought I would do a cheapie test…

day 78 of cycle, 50 day late AF.

shocked to say the least, given I just got told I was ovulating!!
