Hi ladies!
CD 1 for me today, so I’m moving over from the July thread and starting this one (don’t think there is already one).
Anyone else now ttc for a BFP in August??

AF has arrived right on time 😭
Good luck to everyone still waiting ❤️

Sorry to hear that 😔 but at least cycle is regular? Trying to find silver lining for you...

Nicola1988 · 13/08/2024 13:18

Hey could i please join this thread? Been ttc for 8 months now. I turn 36 in oct. I think im 6 or 7 dpo currently. Every month i experience sore boobs, cramps and nausea which is extremly frustrating. Every month i get my hopes up so high and met with such crushing lows x sending lots of baby dust to us all xx

Janedoe3 · 13/08/2024 14:02

Just taken clear blue and it’s negative but still no sign of period (1 day late so far)

i didn’t realise to get an accurate result it’s best to test one week after missed period. Can anyone confirm ?

CoolSummer89 · 13/08/2024 12:24

Hi @Janedoe3 ovulation only lasts one day, so it can’t last 12 days as you say that Flo suggests. If your periods aren’t regular Flo might say that this could be your fertile window, but in reality a woman’s fertile window is the 3-4 days before ovulation. I don’t use Flo, so I’m not sure what terminology they use.

were you using any ovulation predictor kits/BBT to confirm ovulation?

as it has been some time before your last period, the only way to be sure is taking a pregnancy test at this point. Best of luck.

I meant fertile window ! :)

my periods are regular as I mentioned

Also, it says online to wait a week after a missed period to test.

my period was due yesterday on the 12th aug, but no sign of it, and no period symptoms at all.
so I’m going to test again next week Monday 19th aug

1441x · 13/08/2024 15:23

@Janedoe3 35 day cycles here too! My period was 7 days late last month, exactly the same as you no symptoms of pregnancy and no symptoms of AF either so I felt in limbo. I was having BFN and then had once test that i swear i could see the faintest line with (no one else did so i must have had line eyes), and then AF arrived. Hang in there, our cycles always tend to mess with us when we want them to be consistent! Keep testing every day.
I keep both flo and premom up to date as i find flo can be unreliable

In some cases implantation may only happen as late as 12DPO, in which case pregnancy tests may not even spot anything till 15DPO, which is close to period due date for most women. That said, from what I see most with BFPs are getting faint lines from 9-10 DPO. When do you plan to test?

1441x · 13/08/2024 16:03

@rebecca199 @Amber17 Just read back through the thread before I posted something someone else has asked and seen your posts about LH increases in the first week. This has happened this month for the first time ever, I had a high reading on CD 7 & 8 and it went back down again in the following days do you find this delays your actual peak later in the cycle or not at all?

Hey! My peak actually ended up being a few days earlier than normal this month and was the strongest peak I've ever had! X

14 DPO today. Tested this morning, BFN. No signs/symptoms of AF yet other than the normal sore boobs. I am 5 days late today. My ovulation was also around 5 days later than usual - could this explain why AF is delayed? Is it normal to ovulate later in a cycle or should it usually be around the same day? This is my first cycle I haven’t been 29 days in months.

The length of your luteal phase doesn’t change so it depends on when you ovulate. If you ovulate late , AF will be late too. x

Oh Nicola I hear ya! I am 36 in Jan and have been trying for 7 or 8 months (lost count). Have you asked your GP if you can do a hormone panel? I got my results last week and all was OK, so has calmed me down a little bit and helping me ‘enjoy’ the journey more. Although I haven’t entered two week wait yet which is always more enjoyable 😅

Sorry I did see that you said they had regulated recently, what I mean is that if Flo still has your irregular periods in mind, it may not have got used to the regularity.

would definitely recommend some ovulation kits for next cycle (hopefully there isn’t one!) so you can get a sense of how long your luteal phase is, as that tends to stay fixed for each woman. Best of luck with the tests next week! 🤞

Booked in for day 21 bloods this thurs but she hasnt requested a full hormone panel. Doesnt look like lile my amh or lh will be getting looked at only my progesterone. My partner has his bloods done and was all ok. Folate was oddly a bit low but they wernt concerned. He is booked in for a seman analysis next month. We were lucky getting that slot due to a cancellation as the next slot was months away x

however, it says on the period app to wait a week until after a missed period as sometimes hcg can still be low for some women even on the day they missed their period

so I’m going to test exactly one week from now on the 19th august

Hello hun,

There is a slight difference though , the difference we have is I have symptoms of pregnancy . I’ve been spotting on and off (brown/light pink since middle of July until yesterday.)

I will quote my original post in case anyone missed it

Janedoe3 · 13/08/2024 19:59

Janedoe3 · 13/08/2024 10:27

my cycle used to be irregular and extra long but I started taking prenatal procieve supplements 3 months ago which helped regulate my cycle.. so the past 3 months my cycle has been on average 35 days which is great for tracking and ttc.

my menstrual period always lasts 5 days

keeping this information in mind, here’s my query..

  • my last period was July 4th to 8th
  • I had unprotected on July 10th
  • Had light pink /light red spotting on July 14th
  • Had nausea July 15th
  • according to Flo app: July 19th Ovulation started
  • Had mild abdominal pain and cramps July 22nd
  • Had spotting again on July 26th
  • Had unprotected again on July 29th
  • Spotted light pink on tissue the next day on July 30th
  • Spotted this creamy light brown/pink discharge in my underwear next day on July 31st and took a picture (won’t post it but if someone who has been pregnant before could message me to confirm if it could be an early sign.. that would be kind of you)
  • according to Flo app: 1st August Ovulation ended
  • Had unprotected again on August 6th
  • Spotted light red blood on tissue twice today & also having weird stomach feeling (not pain) which is August 9th
  • Spotted light red/pink blood in tissue and had mild cramps in the left side of my lower stomach on August 10th
  • spotted light pink/red again in August 11th
  • spotted light pink/red only on tissue on August 12th (yesterday)

i am still taking my proceive prenatal conception tablets

so, the Flo app told me I’m due for my period yesterday on Monday July 12th and there’s also a message on the app that says -spotting at this stage in your cycle could be a sign of implantation bleeding ..
& no period came yesterday even though my cycle has been consistent

new update: now it’s Tuesday July 13th , the day after my period due and my period is still not here and experiencing zero period symptoms to indicate it is coming

i haven’t gone for my first morning pee yet so I’m going to go to boots and get a few tests .. any insights would be appreciated

Here’s my original post

and to update: I’ve taken a test today = negative

but I will test again next week as that will be 1 week since my missed period

Oh that’s good. My DH got in touch with his GP in June (he had an undescended testicle as a child) for Semen analysis and has an appointment booked for end of October.

Best of luck with your bloods, will you also be getting day 3 tests done? From what I have read amh levels aren’t that important for natural conception, it’s more for if you go down the IVF route which is why private clinics tend to test for AMH to see if you’ll be a good candidate for that…

as I say best of luck and keep us updated 😊

Oh yes I get what you mean now!!!

well, to update.. I’m now using three new period apps . Downloaded them yesterday m and logged my past 3 months of regular 35 days cycle on the apps

New Apps: clue, Premom & modern fertility
Log: I only logged my constant 35 days cycle (so they have no recollection of my past irregular cycle like my Flo at least does )

both Clue , Modern fertility and Premom are saying my period is late (much later than what Flo is saying )
premom says my period is late by: 5 days
clue says my period is late by: 9 days
modern fertility says my period is late by: 5 days

im going to the gp next week Monday as I’m confused & I’ve also got another clear blue test I will take on Monday

No mention of anymore blood tests etc. Was just told to contact the gp receptionist for the results. My gp really didnt seem all that fussed...she wasnt horrible about it but didnt seem in too much of a rush for anything if that makes sense. I think ill phone for the results and then recontact the gp again once we get results from SA.

sending posive thoughts ur way 🥰

@ScarlettSloth i ovulated particularly late this month, it’s happened before and AF is always delayed. I worked out I get my AF about 15 days after my peak so if I ovulate later, my period is 15 days from that date xx

Hi all, first time posting! 5 months ttc. Currently dpo 10. Negative test this morning. Boobs hurting like they normally do before AF. Think I am out. Feeling very frustrated and getting obsessed with the whole process 😢 I’m 28, no kids. I had some bloods and US (private) - all normal. Husband will not do sperm analysis and I feel to awkward to have a deep discussion about this yet. He says he will after a year. I know 5 months is not long but would rather know sooner then later if there’s a problem 😢 I have been off contraception for 3 years and avoided dtd during fertile window. I didn’t track anything just had sex after my period for 5 days. Then stopped having dtd / withdrawal for 10ish days. Then had dtd until AF arrived. Probably been an issue this whole time. Anyway feeling like the baby I dreamt of my whole life is not going to happen. Probably the pms talking. Sorry for negatively.
