Hi ladies!
CD 1 for me today, so I’m moving over from the July thread and starting this one (don’t think there is already one).
Anyone else now ttc for a BFP in August??

I just had a small amount of blood. I have a feeling AF will arrive shortly.

ScarlettSloth · 14/08/2024 09:06

CD 35 today (usually 29 days) and 15 DPO (luteal phase is usually 13 days) BFN yesterday. Ordered more tests last night so will test again after they arrive today. Is there any chance I would be testing negative at 14dpo? I opened up my clear blue digital like a mad woman and there were two lines but I have read that opening it makes the test invalid haha. I have zero symptoms of anything (pregnancy or AF). So strange 🤦🏻‍♀️ this is my first cycle I’ve not been regular in almost a year. I started taking CoQ10 2 months ago so it might be that?

Af due tomorrow, and woke up this morning with pink tinged creamy CM so think it will be on to cycle 2 tomorrow. Not sure how I feel, certainly not surprised but a little disappointed.

Husband and I need to do some thinking now as, although we weren't looking, we have stumbled across our dream house. If we were to go for it, we'd be really stretched financially so TTC would have to go on the back-burner.
Feeling really torn and quite stressed actually...

Oh love, sorry to hear this.

How old are you? How long have you been trying? Any tests suggesting any probs? Any health concerns if you don’t mind sharing? I’d be weighing up these things.

FWIW, think of all those with an unexpected pregnancies who just make it work financially. (But of course I don’t know how stretched you’ll be exactly!)

If age was a potential issue, I think I’d keep trying and not delay. I’m at an age mid thirties and I feel I can’t delay anymore. But then again I really believe that life should go on as normal and we shouldn’t plan our life around a baby that doesn’t even exist yet!

Whats your gut saying? It’s rarely wrong I think.

We're both 36, and literally started trying this month!

No major health concerns or family history, but then we also haven't had any sort of fertility tests (as it just hasn't been on our radar).

Definitely couldn't afford either mat leave or childcare as well as the predicted mortgage.

When would you have to delay until?

To be honest, I’m coming up to 35 and wouldn’t delay now personally. I had my first very easily (and luckily) and no problems that I know of. But you’ll always have stories about someone’s aunt who conceived at fifty or something like that so it’s certainly possible to wait and delay! It’s such a personal choice.

I have friends who are unsure about having a baby so they’d be better places delaying TTC whereas I definitely wanted more than one and still do.

Hi all, first time posting! 5 months ttc. Currently dpo 10. Negative test this morning. Boobs hurting like they normally do before AF. Think I am out. Feeling very frustrated and getting obsessed with the whole process 😢 I’m 28, no kids. I had some bloods and US (private) - all normal. Husband will not do sperm analysis and I feel to awkward to have a deep discussion about this yet. He says he will after a year. I know 5 months is not long but would rather know sooner then later if there’s a problem 😢 I have been off contraception for 3 years and avoided dtd during fertile window. I didn’t track anything just had sex after my period for 5 days. Then stopped having dtd / withdrawal for 10ish days. Then had dtd until AF arrived. Probably been an issue this whole time. Anyway feeling like the baby I dreamt of my whole life is not going to happen. Probably the pms talking. Sorry for negatively.

I completely hear you, when you start trying you think it might take 3 months tops and then when it passes that you start to worry.
Firstly it's great news that all your tests have come back normal, that is very promising.
I understand why your husband wants to wait a year, that follows the advice of health professionals as statistically you are likely to have got pregnant in that time. But I also understand your fear that something could be wrong and you wouldn't know.
The good news is that most male fertility problems can be turned around with lifestyle changes. Could you compromise and he takes some supplements until the year is up? And then if you are still trying, he does the test.
Also I know exactly how you feel, the fear that it may never happen. But you genuinely have so much time on your side, take it from this 35 year old who has been told not worry by her doctor. Sending lots of love and luck for future cycles 💕

CoolSummer89 · 14/08/2024 14:02

@KGeeGee I would cost up living at the house factoring in essentials only (bills, commuting, careful food shop) and childcare. Is it workable? If so, then go for buying the house but do not stop trying to TTC. You might not get the house, or equally it may take you two years to conceive. Life is so unpredictable, I wouldn't be making any decisions based on the probability of the other one happening!
If it's really not workable living there with a child, but you really want the house then maybe you need to weigh up if you want a child.

Ah this must be so frustrating for you. I think clearblue digitals always have two lines because they are testing for strength of hcg. There is definitely a chance that you could be testing negative at 14dpo and test positive later. I think it's very rare but could be late implantation. Hopefully you get an answer soon.

CRMB95 · 14/08/2024 17:50

Another chemical pregnancy for us this month, TTC since July 2023, honestly so gutted, thought we had finally gotten our time when I saw the faint lines 4 days early but AF due today an still faint line, plus now light, brown blood, seems the same as our last chemical, just so fed up and down about this whole process, hoping for better luck for everyone else ❤️

MrsKurz · 14/08/2024 18:31

I’ll be 10DPO in the morning - is it worth testing or wait longer? I only have cheapies.

overall I feel pretty normal, but the last 2 days I’ve felt a bit headachey and tired, but it’s also a heatwave so that could very easily explain it.

ive really struggled with the TWW this time, even though the first time we TTC I didn’t. I guess I’m more excited this time because I know what having a little one is like? And my daughter is in a VERY cute phase at 18m

km9371 · 14/08/2024 19:27

@MrsKurz I know it's hard to wait and you just want to know, but I've found it really stressful this cycle because I tested early.

I've had faint lines for five days with very little obvious progression and im driving myself mad convinced there's something wrong. I wish I had waited to test 🤦🏼‍♀️

Obviously everyone's score is different, you know what will be best for you xx

Kiwiburgh · 14/08/2024 19:33

Does anyone here chart with easy at home opks?
I'm really confused. I got a static smiley with clear blue advanced on cd14 however no positive with easy at home tests( testing 2-3 times a day so don't think I missed a peak/positive)
Maybe I geared up to ovulate which cb picked up on but failed too?
I've attatched my chart with its sad low peak :(

And AF has finally arrived on CD35! I am putting it down to the new supplement I took which I will now be stopping. Congratulations to everyone who has their BFP and see the rest of you over on the September thread x

No I think you’re right. I’ve caved at 7dpo and 9dpo and had to complete BFNs. I also just found out tonight my best friend is pregnant (I am SO happy for her!). We were pregnant together last time and it would be so cool if that happened again. So there’s definitely a little tinge of sadness as it was a complete surprise for her. Obviously the loveliest surprise. It’s funny because she wanted to be pregnant before we were trying, and I’d been wary of talking about TTC with her and it turns out she was already pregnant 😂

CoolSummer89 · 14/08/2024 21:20

@CRMB95 so sorry to read this. How many CPs have you had? Could you chat to your GP?

@MrsKurz I'm usually a cheapie 10dpo tester, even though I have not even had a sniff of a BFP. If I'm thinking about it anyway I would rather just test, rather than wondering at the back of my mind. Wishing you the best, these days are always the hardest!

@ScarlettSloth ugh, that's a bummer. Best of luck for next cycle, hopefully the supplements are having a positive impact in the long run.

@Kiwiburgh mine are often low like that and I have definitely been ovulating (confirmed by BBT) so I wouldn't worry too much. Sometimes the lighting impacts the 'score' that premom gives it.

Kiwiburgh · 14/08/2024 21:26

@CoolSummer89 thanks, this ttc business really brings out an anxiety in me that I never knew I had!

CoolSummer89 · 14/08/2024 21:32

I have ovulated two days earlier than expected, which has kind of scuppered 'shag week' plans, but we manage two days before ovulation and day of. Entering the two week wait tomorrow, not looking forward to the torture!

I just love the term 'shag week' 😂

BlueberryPoppy123 · 14/08/2024 21:55

CD 37 still no usual signs of AF. Always get sore boobs about a week before and husband can't touch them, but none of that yet. Usually get cramps in the week leading up to AF none of that either just a pain on my left side but not period like. More ovulation pain like so kind of worried I'm ovulating really late this month. Usually about 35 day cycles. Based on bbt AF would be due on CD 40. With my 2nd pregnancy I had really bad food aversion to eggs. Today when I was out having breakfast with my boys I had to get the eggs out of my sight as kept retching. Just really confused. Bfns on dpo's 8/9/11. Was holding off to test again now. Will be 14dpo tomorrow. Think I'm going to test because I don't think I can wait until Saturday 🙈

Any advice on my chart opks weren't much help this month ovulation was just predicted by premom so a bit clueless this month 🙈

BlueberryPoppy123 · 14/08/2024 21:56

Might help to actually post the chart 😂

CoolSummer89 · 14/08/2024 22:00

I can't take credit for that 😅it was penned by someone a few months ago. She called her period 'shark week' and fertile window 'shag week'. I don't think we came up for anything for two week wait, maybe like 'symptom spotting fortnight'?

lv565 · 14/08/2024 22:43

Hey everyone,

Not sure if we can share links in here but I’ll try. I heard this fertility Dr on the diary of a CEO podcast by Stephen Bartlett a few months ago and I’ve been watching her YouTube videos. They’re so informative! I’d love to know what you all think too ☺️ Dr Natalie Crawford She has videos on literally everything we talk about in here.

I’ve figured out that my cycle tracking app is getting my ovulation wrong based on my BBT (I use natural cycles and track with my oura ring). Last month it said I ovulated on day 16. We dtd on days 15-18 (because it initially estimated I would ovulate on day 18). But I actually think I ovulated on day 13! (I had a 26 day cycle last month). If that’s true then day 15 was too late to start trying, so we had no chance!

This month I’m more prepared and I’ve started testing for LH today (day 9), so I’ll see what happens!

OliveTraybake · 12/08/2024 08:06

I would save the clear blue until a missed period and continue with cheapies until then xx

This is what I do. I buy cheapies like wondfo - 20 pregnancy tests and 50 LH tests for a tenner, and save the clearblue or FRER for if I actually think something is happening.

Today is CD2 and I can't wait for Aunty Flo to leave. 😅

I just love the term 'shag week' 😂

My friend once described it as "oi babe, the pee sticks are telling us to shag" and I've been laughing about it ever since.
