Hoping I'll be able to be testing in July if my cycle comes back after my most recent miscarriage! Hope to see lots of July BFPs x

I am sorry for your MC! Actually for me, today is CD1 of the second cycle after a CP, I hope your cycle will return back to normal! Good luck to you!

Hi,

Thought I'd come and join as AF arrived this morning 😢trying to go into this next cycle being positive and following the advice as much as possible. Is anyone else following the Mediterranean diet? I've debating buying the 'It starts with the egg' fertility cookbook.

hopeful4us · 11/06/2024 22:15

@winterwalksinwellies sorry to hear AF arrived, I hope you get your positive this month! How long have you been ttc? I’ve definitely upped the number of fruit/ veggies and have been conscious of what protein I’m eating. Hardest thing for me is trying to make sure I stay properly hydrated, I’m so bad at drinking enough water!

LucyCL · 11/06/2024 22:28

@hopeful4us @winterwalksinwellies Apart from the vegetables, fruits and protein, it is also better to take prenatal vitamins, omega fish oil and folic acid with vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3.
Sometimes prenatal vitamins might not have sufficient amount of one certain vitamin our body needs. I have been taking proceive vitamins since last September however still I was told by the GP that I had low vitamin D this March.

@LucyCL how do you know if the prenatals have enough of each vitamin? I’m taking ‘my expert midwife’ (was previously on pregnacare) but don’t know if I should also take additionals?

I went to a private clinic and did a comprehensive blood test to find that out. However you can also order blood test at home which is a bit cheaper.

You can find out the levels of Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 Active and Folate serum. You can also do other blood tests.
Unfortunately there is no way to find out if our body is lack of other vitamins.

Medichecks are good - I've used them for a few different tests over the last couple of years, quick results and helpful commentary by a doctor 😊

LucyCL · 14/06/2024 10:43

Today is CD5 for me and today is the last day of my period so I will start using OPKs to track my ovulation day tomorrow. How is everyone doing?

moosey89 · 14/06/2024 11:06

Just about getting a negative pregnancy test now, and my clearblue is on to flashing smiley so we will be TTC again over the next couple of days, although last loss I didn't ovulate until my period came back so not sure if I will this time or not, but worth a shot!

MisssMarion · 14/06/2024 12:42

CD2 here. Gutted and worried to be back here again 😣
This is cycle#3 post MMC, I'm planning to do the SMEP method again although it ended up being a lot last month and we probably missed the most important day being too tired... let's see.

LucyCL · 14/06/2024 12:56

@MisssMarion@moosey89 We have recently recovered from MCs and here is what I have found to help us.

During menstruation, iron and vitamins C and K are important.

In the follicular phase, add in choline, antioxidants, and liver support.

Zinc, vitamin E and omega 3s are vital for ovulation

B6, Magnesium, iodine and potassium in the luteal phase.

The entire cycle
Vitamin D: It plays a vital role in ovarian follicular development or egg maturation. It increases progesterone and estrogen levels.

Ovulation:
Vitamin E: It decreases testosterone and LH levels whereas it increases progesterone and FSH levels.

Luteal phase:
Vitamin B6: It can help increase progesterone and decrease estrogen. It helps your luteal phase, when your uterus is more receptive to pregnancy

In conclusion:
It is safe to take prenatal vitamins, folic acid, omega 3 and Vitamin D
Menstruation: Iron, Vitamin C and Vitamin K
Ovulation: Vitamin E, Zinc
Luteal phase: Vitamin B6, Magnesium

Thanks @LucyCL - got all that covered vitamins/supplements wise haha I'm 4 years and 3 missed miscarriages deep into my journey 🙈 think I've tried basically everything! We have a fertility clinic referral and waiting for my cycle to come back to book in (hopefully) for a HSG and waiting on an internal ultrasound appointment through the post. Also have a referral to a reproductive immunology expert. Lots going on in the background but all takes a frustratingly long time 😖

hopeful4us · 14/06/2024 15:08

@moosey89 sorry to hear you’ve had such a frustrating journey, fingers crossed you get some answers soon.

@MisssMarion hadn't heard of the SMEP method but just been reading about it! I’m on CD10 and trying to DTD every other day atm. Not doing ovulation tests as I think I’d get a bit obsessive but might very well do this if we have no luck over the next few cycles

hopeful4us · 18/06/2024 13:32

@2019Mama are you currently in the tww? Symptom spotting?

How is everyone else getting on?

Blue2020 · 18/06/2024 17:43

I’m only on cd2 and I usually have a 32 day cycle so I still have a while to go before I’m even in the tww. I will track this cycle though.

Rain11 · 18/06/2024 17:53

Hello. Could you please share what vitamins you take when TTC, please? Any specific brand? There are so many out there... currently I'm only taking a generic vitamin D, so I think I could do with getting better ones. Thank you!

2019Mama · 18/06/2024 19:17

Hi @hopeful4us
Currently 6dpo.. these days are dragging not planning on testing til 10dpo.

The only symptom I seem to have is bloating. 😕🤣

How are you getting on?

hopeful4us · 18/06/2024 21:21

@Rain11 Hi, if you scroll up the thread there is a really detailed explanation there from @LucyCL. I currently take My Expert Midwife (because they were on offer!) - most important bit seems to be folic acid & the rest is all beneficial.

@2019Mama I’m CD15. Haven’t been able to track bbt this month and I’m loathe to start ovulation testing so early in my ttc journey but we’ve been BD regularly. On holiday end of the month so hopefully that will distract me from the tww. Keep us updated when you test - we’ve got our fx! ❤️
