I'm about 1dpo I think (how do people know exactly???) so I just started my TWW. I'll be testing on 7th July I think. This is my 3rd cycle since MMC (and 7 months TTC) so hoping so so much this is it, but I can't get my hopes up 😔

hopeful4us · 27/06/2024 18:39

Haven’t been tracking too closely this month but Clue places me in the TWW. If AF hasn’t arrived by the 4th July, I’ll be testing. No symptoms yet but I’m trying to focus on our upcoming holiday, rather than obsessing over every twinge!

LucyCL · 28/06/2024 09:47

I know this question might sound silly however I am very curious! When you are close to ovulation, do you usually get a BBT dip or LH surge first?

OP posts:
imy · 28/06/2024 10:12

Morning everyone :) I am just waiting for my LH surge. This is third cycle off the pill and last cycle I ovulated CD18 so wondering if it would be sooner this month. I am CD11 today. Cervix is getting higher and softer so that could be a good sign! My husband is away for work Sun - Weds though (so no sex on Mon and Tues) which is such a pain! But hopefully won't ruin our chances. Sorry @LucyCL I don't know the answer to your question as I don't track BBT!

Welcome! I keep asking questions about ovulation and hormone related questions because how our body functions fascinates me. I don't expect people to know the answers and some of us here have been really helpful and tried their best to answer some of my questions. ❤
I am about to get the peak soon so hopefully I will find out the answer. This is just to satisfy my curiosity. 😅
I wish you will get the peak soon and July will be your month!

I'm the same as you @LucyCL , really interested in how it all works! I've just been looking up the % chance of conceiving on each day leading up to ovulation. Was interested to see it's practically 0 the day after ovulation. I thought there would still be a bit of a chance! I am the opposite of people who just go with the flow haha, but it doesn't make me stressed, it's just interesting as you say :)

Did you get your peak? I haven't yet and now I hope it holds off until my husband comes home on Weds. LH strips are still v light so hopefully it'll be fine. I have a slow rise usually so a light strip this PM is a v good sign.

I am happy to hear that! I had 2 MCs and I knew that my hormone levels were affected and also having 2 MCs in 4 months has delayed my ovulation from CD15 to CD22.
I was desperate to find out what was happening to my body after CP (which happened at the beginning of May) and why my LH levels kept fluctuating a lot. Because before MCs, there was always a steady increase in LH until the peak.
My body failed to ovulate twice during the post CP cycle and succeeded on its third attempt. I felt so lost so I decided to buy some devices to help me to gain some insights.
Because of pregnancy and 2 MCs, I have learnt so much about our body and female hormones. It is a way to learn, also an unique way to heal. Talking to people here and asking questions have definitely helped me to understand the whole ttc thing.
After I stopped bleeding from CP, I started a thread called TTC after chemical pregnancy and I talk about my hormone levels, charts, BBT, RHR, Mira, OvuSense, Temdrop, Wrist temperature, Premum, types of vitamin etc. Each day I learn something new. I also enjoy using my devices to analyse charts and figures.😂
You are still likely to conceive if you BD the day after ovulation and the following 2 days. Because ovulation occurs between 24 and 36 hours after the LH surge then the egg will only live for 24 hours.

I have been BD'ing every day since AF finished and today is CD21, thankfully I just got my peak which will last all day tomorrow. That makes next Tuesday the O day and next Wednesday 1 dpo. My plan is to BD until 5 dpo (7/7/24), just in case.

I wish you good luck and hopefully you can catch the egg when you dtd. 😀

@LucyCL I'm so sorry to hear about the tough journey that you've been on. Exiting that you've got your peak today! My LH test this morning was still light which is really good news. I think we're out of the woods now because we can start having sex again from Weds, and my tests usually darken over the course of two days. I expect I will start to get darker tests tomorrow or weds. Looks like we'll be in the TWW together! When do you plan on testing?

Did your line get darker this morning? Today is either the O day/1 dpo so I have started a tread of the 2WW. I will test LH, HCG daily and share my OvuSense BBT and Mira charts daily until I get AF/BFP.😆 I thought it would be fun and provide some insights about our body. Which dpo will you start testing?

@LucyCL im losing track with posts now.

So I had rising lh starting last night but still fairly low (the second line was getting stronger), this morning it was high but not as strong as the control line so I thought it would be stronger by this afternoon and yet it’s gone low again? So I have either missed the very strong line between 9pm last night and 9:30am this morning, or maybe it’s not my peak yet? I’m so confused. I was so sure it would be my peak this afternoon as well. The app has changed the high to peak because it dropped again but I’m not sure because in the past I have had the test line stronger than the control.

All that said im on cd16 and I don’t usually see the peak until cd18. I thought I also saw the feintest spots of blood earlier. I do mean incredibly small. I have never had that before.

Blue2020 · 02/07/2024 17:36

I’m attempting bbt alongside so I might find out in a few days either way. Well bbt isn’t exactly going well when my one year old disrupted it yesterday morning by waking up very early, 30-45minutes after I had gone to the toilet. So that wasn’t reliable.

😅Yes, I also have been posting on lots of threads here and there are a few main ones I post my updates. I have talked to you on other threads and you even answered one of my threads which I appreciate!
The faintest blood might be caused by estrogen withdrawal. In my case, all my hormone levels suddenly dropped which caused light spotting for one day.
It might be the same for you.
There is a reliable device to measure BBT called OvuSense, it measures your BBT internally. You have to sleep at least 4 hours for it to take the average BBT of the night. I have been using it and so far it is matching my LH and mira charts.

Blue2020 · 02/07/2024 19:36

@LucyCL if the bbt fails for a few months then I might look in to it. I do have the bbt and I just got an Apple Watch so I’m seeing what the wrist temperature looks like too.

Oh maybe it’s that with the very minor spotting. I would say it was two minor spots of blood, literally that’s it. I just created a post, but since mid afternoon I have also been getting mild cramps too (like period cramps). It’s on an off, and I’m not used to it. I never got them before ds, but I also don’t know if having a baby has changed it somehow? Like my uterus is being more sensitive to the hormone change? I have no idea.

How is everyone doing ?

Halfway through the TWW and finding the days really long. I equally can't wait to test in case it's positive and dread it in case it's negative (most likely option) so not sure how I feel.

I have heard that pregnancy can change one's body. I can imagine this could be a possibility for you.
I also have an apple watch and sometimes I treat the wrist temperature as a second opinion, the same to RHR. It is an interesting experiment to see if they are matching BBT or not. 😄

I used to find 2WW dreadful. But after 2 MCs, I feel relatively relaxed during this one. I know it is easier said than done and it is likely that I might feel anxious soon.
Fingers crossed for all of us who are still waiting! It'd be great to see more BFPs soon!

Yes I’m interested to see what the wrist temperature does post ovulation.

I do trust bbt when it’s done correctly, and the opk too but it’s a bit of interpretation on what is a peak. I just saw your other post with your lh tests.

Hi everyone in the TWW,

I don't often post, so here goes....We've been TTC for 2 years.

Last year we had 3 chemical pregnancies but no lines this year.

This month, I've got some lines - but my period isn't due for another few days, so I'm feeling very nervous.

My LH peak was 13 days ago. I didn't BBT this month so can't confirm day of ovulation.

With all 3 chemical pregnancies, my lines were lighter, and showed up much later. No clear progression... but I know we ladies talk a lot in threads about progression taking time.

I know we can symptom test until the cows come home, but my breasts are not swollen. I am pretty teary at minor things - could be frayed nerves.

I don't know the point of sharing this, I just wondered if anyone else is nervously watching their lines after chemicals.

Also a bit of humour, for any Swift fans, the lyric "I think I've seen this film before..." keeps playing in my head😂😬

These tests are today, yesterday and day before.

I am so sorry that you have had 3 CPs! I had one recently and this is my second cycle. I can imagine me getting anxious if I am lucky to get a BFP. I hope your line will get darker!
