@Rosyposy26 So sorry for your loss. My first pregnancy was Dec, lost in Feb and took 6 weeks for a period and 8 weeks for +OPKs to return. I started taking Zita West supplements for 4 months but they were just too expensive as I bought them for both me and my partner. So I looked at the ingredients and NRV% and bought the Boots own brand equivalent for us. Zita West preaches high levels of CoQ10, DHA and folic acid. Boots do 3 for 2 on vitamins which saves you even more.

I take -
Womens multivitamin (yellow label)
Folic acid with vitamin D
High Strength CoQ10
Omega 3 high strength (for the DHA)
Iron plus vitamin c
High strength B12 (I'm a vegetarian)

He takes -
Complete man

These vits taken daily contain the same amounts of folic acid, DHA and CoQ10 as the ZW supplements. I'm on no special diet.

@Optimist1981

Thank you I was taking pregnacare max then switched to Proceive max and DHA coming to end now and looking to see if I need anything else or take separate

Optimist1981 · 18/04/2024 17:12

@Rosyposy26 let me know if you research/shop and I'm missing something. I tried to cover all bases - egg & sperm quality as well as cell/foetus developmental support.

I will do. I think you have covered it. I am drinking Maude and Mable fertility tea up until ovulation.

Morning ladies, hope we're all well? 5/6DPO (maybe) and just had some cramping and spotting, which I'm sure I'll drive myself mad with for the next few days until AF appears 😅

Thanks so much @blackberryhill @OnePinkDuck @Lalaland13 @Bumblebee413 @worldwidetravel2017 💗
I spoke to a consultant at my local hospital and a nurse at the hospital I’ve been referred to yesterday and I’m feeling a lot more positive. They both said they’re quite confident I won’t have cancer or need the chemotherapy as I’ve had 2 periods since the surgery and also tested negative so they think all the molar cells will hopefully have gone. Because of that they said after my urine test, if it’s negative they’ll just do a repeat one then a blood test at 4 weeks then I’ll be discharged. So hopefully I can get back to trying soon!!

That looks promising @Lalaland13! Have you done any more tests?

Hope you get some clarity and hopefully a bfp soon @worldwidetravel2017!

blackberryhill · 21/04/2024 08:15

Sounds like positive news, @Mrsspoon3 , fingers crossed all goes as hoped and you'll be back on the TTC horse shortly!

Yesterday's spotting has turned into full blown AF for me so either that LH surge was a red herring and I didn't ovulate after all, or it was a crap egg and a 5 day LP - trying not to overthink it given I only came off contraception less than two weeks ago. Either way, it's CD1, and hopefully this cycle will be a proper one!

CoolSummer89 · 21/04/2024 08:20

That’s really positive @Mrsspoon3, you must feel so relieved. Thanks for updating us!

Ah that’s frustrating @blackberryhill, can take a few months to get back into the groove after contraception. So hopefully this month was just a reset.

Lalaland13 · 21/04/2024 09:28

So pleased to hear you’re more positive now @Mrsspoon3 and sounds like they are just being extra cautious! Fingers crossed be back trying soon.

Ohh good to have a proper cycle starting @blackberryhill - onwards with TTC this month!

Ohh walnuts are tasty @worldwidetravel2017 - I’m on a lot of pumpkins seeds at the mo! Good for zinc they say! Hope you get your BFP soon!

i have been religiously testing each morning and so far so good, they have got darker 🙌 I just feel ever so nervous to get excited or even call a BFP after Januarys chemical, I keep looking back on that and I think it started to fade by now but still could happen again. I do have some tummy twinges but when they stop i worry. Want to be happy but very nervous. We only managed to DTD twice around ovulation, similar to Jan. actually wondering if less is more 😂 had my randox results back too. Kind of a bit confused by them TBH but I think all in normal range… for time of month. Weirdly except FSH showed as mid cycle but should be in luteal range?! I think.

I’m really pleased it’s all come back so reassuring for you @Mrsspoon3. It must have been lovely having some positive news after all that you’ve been through and yay to trying again soon xxx

CoolSummer89 · 22/04/2024 12:18

Found out yesterday that DH had an undescended testicle (just one - thankfully) which was corrected with surgery when he was 12. Apparently the advice for nowadays is to have surgery when boys are 1 year old as to not affect fertility/increase risks of testicular cancer.

Apparently it can reduce male fertility by up to half. Feel a bit annoyed that I only found out about it 5 months in, but he's being sent for sperm analysis pronto!

He also isn't keeping the best diet and drinks a lot on the weekend when he hangs out with his mates. I have asked him to cut down as it affects sperm quality and that it needs to be for a sustained amount of time, not just abstaining from drinking in my fertile window (which is what he seems to be doing). He feels like I am nagging and I feel like I am nagging, but hopefully if I get pregnant I won't be drinking for 9 months and any breastfeeding time, it feels like a reasonable request.

I know I am making him out to seem like he doesn't care, which couldn't be further from the truth. But (his) British culture is so geared towards drinking, that even the suggestion to not do it for a bit seems unreasonable to him. It's very frustrating.

It's hard to have calm conversations when it's such an emotional topic though, and he feels like he is getting the blame. He has just started proceive though, so hopefully this will improve sperm quality.

flowersinthecloud · 22/04/2024 12:40

@CoolSummer89 Sounds like you are doing everything right. I am having similar conversations with dh about diet.

@Lalaland13 Congratulations!

@Mrsspoon3 So sorry to hear about your loss and everything you have been through. And great to hear that things are looking more positive.

Did an at home blood test and my results come back with low AMH. Now need to book a scan. Would also like to get DH to do a SA. GP doesn't have any available appointments until next week. Feeling pretty down. We are ttc for our first and worried we have left it too late.

CoolSummer89 · 22/04/2024 12:49

How old are you @flowersinthecloud if you don't mind me asking? I listened to a podcast the other day and apparently low AMH actually increases your likelihood of getting pregnant naturally if you are under 40. This is because low AMH means that you are probably producing better eggs, than someone who is producing loads of follicles each month.

But fertility clinics want to know your AMH levels because if you are going through IVF it's better to have higher AMH. So it's more for their info than yours, if you get me. Will post the link in case it is some comfort...

9.What does low AMH mean for your fertility? - Hannah Pearn

What does low AMH really mean for your fertility? Does low AMH mean you need IVF? and is low AMH the reason you're struggling to conceive?

https://hannahpearn.com/2023/04/27/what-does-low-amh-mean-for-your-fertility

Lalaland13 · 22/04/2024 12:49

They don’t like being told what to do @CoolSummer89 - I think though given the reduced fertility from the testicle he needs to do his bit to help. Like you say - you’ll be off drink for much longer. Does he drink a lot? My husband when not lambing probably does have a drunk or two everyday 🤦‍♀️but no excessive in one go?! I am the same tbh and I didn’t give up when TTC. But if odds against you it’s really quite a small sacrifice to make.

Actually made me wonder if we needed to go back with my son. I am a sure when they checked they weren’t 100% sure his had descended eek.

Lalaland13 · 22/04/2024 12:53

Thank you @flowersinthecloud

Sorry you’re feeling down 😢 I know won’t help but I really had felt it just won’t happen this time for us. But it seems to have at the moment. It will do but I think it’s good to keep investigating things where you can, to keep mind focussed like you’re doing everything you can. I felt helpless some months but when had a appointment or something planned to do different gave me a focus.

Hope the info @CoolSummer89 helps with your AMH concerns x

CoolSummer89 · 22/04/2024 12:53

Thanks @Lalaland13 - yea they can be maddening can't they? He doesn't drink every day but he's very tall and broad so when he does drink he (in my opinion) drinks a lot, like 7-10 pints? Writing it out sounds insane, and I sometimes feel a bit like I am going mad when he doesn't think it's a big deal. But because he never gets drunk, I think he thinks his body can cope.

I am obviously hoping his SA comes back fine, but if it does come back low I hope it gives him a kick up the bum!

Lalaland13 · 22/04/2024 13:00

They sure can be!!! I find tell him the opposite and then he might do it! Haha’

I would say 7-10 pints is a lot if regular but every now and then, you got to have a blow out! Although I don’t think since before Covid I had a big drinking session 😂 especially since my son. Last thing I want to do is be hanging in charge of a toddler 😂
But I find a glass of wine in a evening nice way to relax. The results might give a kick up the bum like you say! Is he into sport etc? My friends with rugby hubbys drink loads!

flowersinthecloud · 22/04/2024 13:08

@CoolSummer89 thanks for the podcast link am listening now and it is giving me more hope than the google hole I went down this morning (I'm 37).

CoolSummer89 · 22/04/2024 13:32

No problem @flowersinthecloud - just remember your ovaries are producing Rolls Royces not Ford Fiestas xxx

Daniki · 22/04/2024 13:53

@CoolSummer89 try not get to down about AMH, it's only factor and plenty get pregnant with low AMH. Mine is 9.6(in 35) so I also had a big panic about it but my doctor wasn't overly worried. My husband's SA came back all fine but his motility was 3 they like it 4+. He gave up smoking and he is the same he drinks a lot. Especially approaching fertile window iv asked him not to drink which he does do, like last weekend as my trigger date was today. We have his best friends wedding this Saturday and he is best man so I couldn't ask him not drink, hopefully we managed to succeed in the next few days!

Also iv been taking NMN supplements to improve my egg quality they're is studies on it has showed great improvement, has reversed cell damage and dna damage in the body, even menopausal women have had periods returned. There was a thread on here with a few people who had taken it, they suffered with POI and all had low AMH and a few have got pregnant 🤗

Im 37 too

We have time

blackberryhill · 22/04/2024 14:58

Second/third what others have said about AMH, mine was on the low end when I was TTC first time round and still on the low end now (9.34 at just turned 36, so v similar to you @Daniki). When I had my consultation when TTC #1 the doctor wasn't at all worried about it as I was ovulating regularly and my antral follicle count was decent, and I conceived the following cycle so that was also reassuring.

flowersinthecloud · 23/04/2024 09:39

Thanks for the replies. It was a bit of a shock as I had no idea that it would come back so low. Now to focus on producing those rolls royces!

Have any of your OH had SA? Did you do this through an online test or nhs or private clinic?
