Thought I’d make a new thread for those of us Ttc in April 2024. I know some of us will cross over from end of March to April ! Wishing everyone all the luck ✨❤️

Just looking at the times of your tests @RW269 I think you may have missed your peak. You’re testing in the morning (7am, 8am, 10am) and it says not to do that. And then later in the evening (7pm, 11pm).

Best time to test is mid morning at the earliest (no earlier than 11am) or ideally late afternoon. I do mine just after lunch or 11am and 2pm if I do it twice. All my peaks have been during these hours. So I think you’ve had your peak but you’ve just missed it this time cos of testing in the morning/evening 😊x

Dogscanlookup · 27/03/2024 22:19

@Superwomen95 so I had that with the clear blue advanced test. I did get a flashing smiley on CD14 one morning, tested in the evening and got the static. This is the quickest I’ve had in rise! Almost didn’t catch it.
As someone said, it’s measuring two hormones. So it’s not unusual to have a rapid rise - what I did read is it can be better to have a slow estrogen build up as this helps thicken or prep the lining before implantation. But it’s really not a huge negative. I panicked this month as it was unusual for me and wondered what the negatives were but after so much reading I feel fairly chilled about it now! And yeah, you feel like a doctor by the third cycle of TTC 😂
@RW269 as @Daniki mentioned I’m using those proov tests and I find them really helpful. Last month showed I ovulated which was reassuring and showed my progesterone dropped same day I started spotting so I know that is the reason for my spotting. If you do get them, you have to do a baseline test after your period or day 5 of it just FYI so get it in time, but hopefully this month will be your month!

At least I know I’m not the only one whose experienced this then! I normally ovulate on day 13/14 so am going to tests twice a day around that time.
Would you say its best testing in the afternoon? I’ve been doing first thing in the morning till now.

Dogscanlookup · 28/03/2024 11:05

@Superwomen95 if you’re using clear blue advanced OPKs, only test twice a day once you get your flashing! I tend to test either first or second urine of the day, then again in the evening. I’ve had my peak a lot in the evening so I actually think I might bring it forward to afternoon testing! Think @LK2610 was just saying that’s the better time?
@RW269 yeah I got them off Amazon! Not cheap and only a pack to do the month. They’re too narrow to wee on so I have a sexy pee pot lol. I’m only going to do it this month once more just to see if it matches with spotting again and this time I did my baseline properly

Dogscanlookup · 28/03/2024 11:06

Also I’m feeling a little low today. No idea why but I just dont feel this is my month. And I worked out my dates and my partner is away next cycle, even if i’m a little early or late. Knowing it’s going to be another couple of months before a BFP is really depressing!

Aww I know it's tough. This definitely isn't my month either, it's easy to feel down so i understand. Hope you can get some self care going

Bb542 · 28/03/2024 13:52

Anyone else around cycle day 11 and will be trying for their Christmas baby very soon?🙈 fingers crossed for BFPs for us 🤞🏼

babydust23 · 28/03/2024 13:59

I forgot how much waiting is involved in TTC😫 still waiting to ovulate. App tells me I'm due in 2 days but no EWCM and no surge on OPK's. And if I ovulate this month then it's the dreaded TWW 🥲

Dogscanlookup · 28/03/2024 14:30

@Risingsun93 thank you, it’s just going to be so hard “wasting” a month. But it’s fine, I’ll use that time to get extra healthy and ready for the following month! Definitely fit in some self care there too

CoolSummer89 · 28/03/2024 16:03

Ah I am sorry that you are feeling down @Dogscanlookup. As someone with a Jan birthday, it's perhaps a silver lining to be missing that due date! Although cycles can change, so perhaps your fertile window will be when your partner is around.

I opened up to my mum yesterday about how I was finding it hard (although must keep reminding myself that 4 months is not that long, especially when I am 35). I am an only child and the result of a one night stand... so to say she can't relate is a bit of an understatement!

Got to keep the faith that it will happen when it happens 💫

msbrightside2 · 28/03/2024 20:13

Hi everyone! I am currently 7 dpo and hoping so much for a Christmas baby!! This is my 9th month of trying and I was so sure we would have a baby in 2024. Tried out the fertility cup this time around so I'm hoping that will work some magic... found it a bit tricky to use though!
Good luck and love to everyone else trying this month💜

I’m sorry to hear that:( It’s really difficult. Maybe you can treat yourself to different things in the coming weeks to cheer yourself up?
Really hope you have your good news very soon!

RW269 · 28/03/2024 22:45

@LK2610 definitely gonna start taking them midday too! Didn’t have time to prepare to take something to work to do it today, but I’ve just done one about 20 mins ago and it’s jumped to 0.3 which is the highest it’s gone for me so far 😂

@Dogscanlookup awwh I’m sorry you’re feeling a bit down about it all, this could be your month! If it isn’t, next month can be a total look after yourself kind of month so you’re in the best position for the month after! Sending hugs!!

Hi all, I’ve been following these threads for a couple of months now so thought it was about time I joined if that’s okay?

I’m currently TTC #2. This will be my 5th month of trying. Finding it a bit frustrating as we fell straight away with #1. My husband asked me to start a family and 2 weeks later I was pregnant! I know we just got very lucky last time but nevertheless it’s still very frustrating as I feel we are doing everything we can! AF hasn’t started yet, my app says today but I’ve had literally no symptoms, not even a single spot which is unusual. Did a test this morning as I couldn’t wait and it was a BFN so it’s probably on its way hence me joining.

My husband isn’t too keen on a Christmas baby as he is born early January and always felt as a child that his birthday was an after thought and as he got older he would just get joint presents so it felt like a nothing day . According to my periods the due date is normally around 1st of each month so we would potential have a Christmas week/Christmas Day birthday which he isn’t keen on! I’ve seen a few of you have December birthdays yourself or partners with December birthdays, any positive stories to share that I can talk to my hubby about?

LindyMoe · 29/03/2024 07:13

Welcome @satsumaqueen!

My DH is a December baby and he loves it. However, he is an introvert lol.
It's always been lovely for me to plan his birthdays, I've usually done pre Xmas trips away so he gets focus time and as everywhere is decorated it's been lovely.

I'm an early Jan baby and never had any issues. It's given my friends an excuse to push dry Jan out a week and we normally do something at the house. But then I love to host.

No matter when your bday is it's the effort you put in. No issues over here 🙂

Quolla · 29/03/2024 07:26

My husband is a late Dec birthday and doesn't mind it, he says it brightens the week been Christmas and NY and people are always free for parties! I'm January and actually like it, when I was a kid I watched what my friends and sibs got for Christmas and then added things to my birthday list 🤣 now I don't mind it either as it brightens a moderately boring month.

satsumaqueen · 29/03/2024 07:38

Thanks for the welcome!

Really lovely to hear both of your stories. I always make a huge effort to make my husbands birthday special and he appreciates the effort I put in, but I think after so many years of it being a non event he never really enjoys it, so he’s been so put off about having a baby at this time of year.

Im of the same opinion that a baby between Christmas and New Year would be fabulous, I hate that week, it’s so depressing after the excitement of the Christmas build up. I would love to have something to plan and get excited about!

Hi 👋🏻
My journey is similar to yours, I am also ttc #2 for 6 months now!
My period is due tomorrow and I’m already feeling some cramps:(
I think a Dec Jan baby is so nice, takes you through the Jan blues.
Goodluck on your journey.

TryTheNight · 29/03/2024 08:07

If you guys want a funny story about conceiving.... My fiance's mom didn't realize she was pregnant until she was 8 months along. Apparently, she ended up getting checked out after having fun on a slip 'n' slide. My fiance was born a couple of weeks later (completely healthy).

So, at least I feel confident that all of us who cheat by breaking out the pregnancy tests during the TWW will definitely not end up in that scenario. 😂

TryTheNight · 29/03/2024 08:09

Also, I'm struggling not to cheat by testing during the TWW right now. 😆

RRAEE · 29/03/2024 08:33

@satsumaqueen my DP is a dec baby too. Just after xmas. He's always said his bday is just another day as overlooked by xmas and people are always busy. Since ive know him ive made his day about him. I take everything down the night before and make his day as special as possible. 🙂

I always disliked the thought of a dec baby because people only think about xmas, plus itll get very expensive in the long run but now i dont care, I just want a happy healthy little one. TTC journey is harder than we thought.

Hope that helps 🤷🏻‍♀️

LK2610 · 29/03/2024 09:18

My other half is also a December baby - 19th. He likes it cos everyone’s always around for a meal or pub trip to celebrate. Only thing is, if I want to book him a surprise night away or mini trip it’s always triple the price or fully booked cos it’s Christmas 🤣

Risingsun93 · 29/03/2024 10:59

Is anyone else TTC longer? I'm 2 years next month. After one miscarriage in January, I feel like I don't belong in this thread

SummerSun24 · 29/03/2024 13:01

I am a Jan baby and so it my LO. I agree with above comments it's as special as you make it 😊 we have always had lovely birthdays and I never ever remember it being a problem when I was little. Infact I loved it because I used it to patch up asking for the things I didn't get for Xmas 😂 and now that I'm older it's so cheap to go away anywhere in Jan!

@Risingsun93 of course you belong here 💞 sorry to hear of your losses and what a long journey it's been for you. That must be so hard!
