Evening ladies, just wondering if anyone has experienced similar... I believe I may have already ovulated this month on CD13 (currently on cycle 3). When I ovulate I get middleshmirtz pains (I'm assuming this is when I ovulate) had alot of CM stuff around the same time. Anyway currently I'm on CD 20 and I am getting really bad stitch type pains in both sides of my lower pelvis, it's been like it all day.

Now I had this last month on and off for a few days I thought implantation? But when I tested from 9DPO it was negative all the way up to AF!

Does anyone have anything similar? It's really confusing me what the pain could be?

Yes I find the apps are often not accurate for me. I realise only really on the clearblue ovulation tests I’ve been doing.
How long have you been trying for if you don’t mind me asking?

So annoying isn’t it!

We have been trying for a year in total, December was the first sign of anything but that ended in a CP unfortunately. I’ve only been actively tracking ovulation since January though. You?

Yes very annoying, I probably missed a few cycles since the app was not accurate for me:/
Do you think you will get any testing done since its been a year?
I’ve been trying 6 months now and nothing. Iv been using ovulation tests probably the last 3 months now.

Superwomen95 · 27/03/2024 19:24

Does anyone have any advice for me?
This cycle I have been doing the clearblue ovulation tests in the morning and it was negative cycle day 11,12,13. Then on day 13 after having a negative test I had all the signs of ovulation so did another test at 4pm and it was peak fertility smiley face! Totally missed out the flashing smiley- fertile window.
How did it go from 0-100 so quickly, does this mean that my window for conceiving is really short!? If I hadn’t tested that afternoon I would have missed ovulation?

XxHev642x · 27/03/2024 19:27

Hi,

So I have just had a positive pregnancy test. Been trying to conceive for the last 9 months. So we are very happy.

My question is, my last period was 22nd Jan. I have pcso.
I think I ovulated on 8th March.

My question is, how many weeks would this make me?
I have absolutely no idea.

Yes I’ve already started the process. I had swabs done, progesterone test yesterday and I’ve got a pelvic ultrasound next week. I’ve been told these are the preliminary tests to rule out basic issues. I’m just desperate for answers, I had no idea it would be this tough. I’ve got an older boy who I had when I was 21 but at 33 it’s obviously a bit harder.

I’d say keep tracking and then contact your GP if there’s no progress. I started with the digital clear blue ovulation sticks but didn’t like that once you get the solid smiley you can’t retest. I’ve tried premom for this cycle and I think if this one hasn’t been successful I’ll try a combination of clear blue and premom next month.

The waiting is, as everyone else says, the most frustrating and heart wrenching thing.

Hello again,

so this was my experience with clear blue, which is why I switched. I skipped the flashing and went straight to static smiley, which indicates that you will ovulate within the next 24-36 hours. If you have rapid onset peak, it means you just peak quickly as opposed to a more gradual increase. It’s totally normal, apparently 50% of us are rapid onset. Doesn’t mean your window is shorter, just that you peak earlier so they say to test twice a day to catch it.

Hopefully a more educated person will give you an answer but if I had to hazard a guess, I’d say 1.5 weeks? Only because there’s no definitive timeframe for implantation, some sources say around 6-12 DPO.

RW269 · 27/03/2024 19:58

Helloo :) anyone any idea on the below i know I messaged previously about my levels being low. I got the below 0.12 yesterday and now it’s starting to go lower again, do yous recon that was my peak even though it’s so low?

I’m just not understanding one thing though, if the peak fertility smiley face indicates ovulation in the next day or so, surely that means I have missed out on some of the fertile time leading up to ov? As it was neagtive and then positive?
Or have I got it all wrong.

I wouldn't count any of them, did you start testing on day 15? I'm wondering if you missed your ovulation, I would start testing round day 9, for me mine is usually day 13/14!

RW269 · 27/03/2024 20:21

@Daniki I started testing CD7 cause I had no idea where I ovulated, CD7 - cd16 all range between 0.01 and 0.04and most of those were 2 tests a day :/ the last two days are the only time it’s gone above 0.04 . This is all very confusing haha !

OP posts:
RW269 · 27/03/2024 20:23

@Daniki that’s a few days before before that it’s 0.1 pretty much! :/ I’m very confused haha

@RW269 how many cycle have you been testing and are they all the same? Could be the time of day is too sporadic, I usually test around 8am and around 7pm when it's getting higher id test another one or times in the day also! Would be worthwhile getting a 21 day progesterone test to check your levels, if it's quite low you may not have ovulated?!

RW269 · 27/03/2024 20:27

@Daniki this is the first, I tried last month with the clear blue but it broke during ovulation week the holder so I gave up using that and switched to these haha!
True, my shifts are so awkward to get the same times everyday I’m going to have to start taking them to work with me 😂
ill have a look at that :) is that through the doctors or an at home thing? thanks!

Just to add! Not an expert but the tests you are using measure two different hormones. The flashing smiley measures estrogen, which rises slowly. The static smiley is caused by your LH peak. So the lack of flashing smiley doesn't mean, I think, that you're not fertile before ovulating. If you ovulate, the general thought is that you are fertile five-ish days before. Your LH is peaking which is a good sign for ovulation. What it didn't pick up this time was estrogen rising I think. Most more basic tests don't even test estrogen I'm not sure of if some people peak slower etc.

Daniki · 27/03/2024 20:32

@RW269 I used to do that, take them to work 😂 it's awkward! I used the Femsense ovulation tracker this month just to see and it was handy. Just a patch you stick under the arm and scan it twice(or as many as you like) a day and it measure your temp! It predicted mine this morn which seems accurate as I had the trigger shot yest!
Yep I got mine done in the docs it's a blood test 😁 there is at home progesterone tests you can do, proov I think they're called. @Dogscanlookup has mentioned them in the thread!

Thanks for the reassurance! It is good that it’s saying I’m having a LH peak each month.
This all makes sense. Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. I feel like I’m becoming a scientist in this process!

Oh yes these do look quite low. Possibly this could be influenced by your shift pattern? I was listening to a podcast which said not to use your first wee as your LH builds over night (not sure if this is literally night time or while you are sleeping!) and Premom suggests testing between 10am - 8pm. Again not sure if this is based on the time of day or a typical lifestyle of sleeping at night.

so yea if you could take to work that might be better and try and time 6 hours after waking.

Also the lighting looks a bit dark - I guess again due to your shift work! But I’m wondering whether your camera can pick up the ratio.

i’m so sorry that this is happening to you - must be really disconcerting!

RW269 · 27/03/2024 21:46

@Daniki oh that sounds like such a handy thing the temp measurer! I might look at that for next month if this isn’t my month of good news!
ah I have a dr app in just over a week I’ll mention it then and see what he thinks!

@CoolSummer89 possibly I hope it’s just that, it’s put me in a right spin haha!
I think I will take them to work next month for sure, I do always seem to test slightly higher in the evening. Wonder if natural lighting or even my bedroom lighting (brighter in there) might pick up them better than my bathroom light, good point tbh every one of them was taken in my bathroom wonder if that’ll help it pick it up a bit better elsewhere!

OP posts:
RW269 · 27/03/2024 21:53

@CoolSummer89 you may be onto something there just out of curiosity I scanned the same stick that was 0.7 in the bathroom 2 hours ago in my bedroom light that’s brighter and that shows 0.1 so I wonder if when I was 0.12 in the bathroom light yesterday it would have shown higher. Who knows. I feel I’ve messed this month up 😂 next month will definitely not be a photo in the bathroom month if I don’t succeed this month!

OP posts:
Dogscanlookup · 27/03/2024 22:19

@Superwomen95 so I had that with the clear blue advanced test. I did get a flashing smiley on CD14 one morning, tested in the evening and got the static. This is the quickest I’ve had in rise! Almost didn’t catch it.
As someone said, it’s measuring two hormones. So it’s not unusual to have a rapid rise - what I did read is it can be better to have a slow estrogen build up as this helps thicken or prep the lining before implantation. But it’s really not a huge negative. I panicked this month as it was unusual for me and wondered what the negatives were but after so much reading I feel fairly chilled about it now! And yeah, you feel like a doctor by the third cycle of TTC 😂
@RW269 as @Daniki mentioned I’m using those proov tests and I find them really helpful. Last month showed I ovulated which was reassuring and showed my progesterone dropped same day I started spotting so I know that is the reason for my spotting. If you do get them, you have to do a baseline test after your period or day 5 of it just FYI so get it in time, but hopefully this month will be your month!

RW269 · 27/03/2024 22:41

@Dogscanlookup ooo that does sound helpful! Is it like a pee on a stick type as well? Did you just get yours online? :)
