TTC after chemical - anyone with me?

Hello

My OH and I are currently TTC.

We had a BFP earlier this month which seemed like a miracle as it was only our first month TTC.

Sadly that ended in a CP at 4w6d 🥺. We were devastated but really want to remain as positive as possible and are going to continue TTC.

I'm currently on CD10. Usually ovulate around CD13-14 but expecting it to be a little delayed possibly this month after the CP. I'm using OPKs for the first time this month to track!

Anyone with me on the journey of TTC after a CP? I'd love to hear from you so we are in it together 🩷

@ToeBeans24 oh my🥹 congratulations definitely looking good!!

ToeBeans24 · 22/04/2024 11:51

Thank you @Nbaby i feel so anxious after the chemical. Especially as I don’t really know how many DPO I am (despite the positive OPK at CD14). I had signed of ovulation much later in cycle.

So I’m either 19dpo or 10/11dpo. Doubtful it’s 19dpo as did a sensitive internet cheapie last Monday and it was negative.

Very anxious but cautiously happy x

@ToeBeans24 my cheap strips were very faint until about 18dpo. Even still my fmu is awful on them, my best results are around mid day and my test lines are slightly darker than the control line

Nbaby · 22/04/2024 11:56

@ToeBeans24 first 2 were around 16/17dpo

@ToeBeans24 I've been keeping an eye on this thread in the hope there was an update from you! Massive congratulations, I'm so thrilled for you!!! Sending you sticky baby dust!! 😊❤️

ToeBeans24 · 22/04/2024 12:08

Thank you both so much! @Nbaby @Riverstardust
Just did a Morrisons one which I know isn’t as sensitive but it’s a BFN. Should I be worried?

Shall I just do another FRER tomorrow morning?

Is it a false positive ?!

OP posts:
Riverstardust · 22/04/2024 12:11

@ToeBeans24 I wouldn't worry right now, I had the same. Some tests aren't as sensitive. You'll drive yourself bananas. You've tested positive so I'd take that as a positive, maybe try again in a couple of days for the hcg to increase.

ToeBeans24 · 22/04/2024 12:53

Thanks @Riverstardust just rechecked and line on Morrisons one is there but v v v faint. More frers ordered! How often shall I test? How are you getting on? 🥰

@ToeBeans24 there's some strips you can get on Amazon, which are pretty accurate and a lot cheaper! They're the ones the doctors use (one step) and the ones I used in the first few weeks! If you do get the strips, daily testing will probably be fine. But if you're using the more expensive tests, I'd probably do every other. Then hopefully by the weekend your hcg will be high enough to keep showing?

I'm doing ok thanks, 9 weeks tomorrow. 😊 Lots of symptoms but they're just good signs! 😊

ToeBeans24 · 22/04/2024 13:13

Thank you @Riverstardust that is what helps confirm I ovulated late as I had a bfn on an IC last Monday. That was either 12dpo (based on original positive OPK) or before I even ovulated. Last test before today was taken Friday but was a supermarket one so not sure if it was just too early to show or what.

will keep testing and keep everything crossed. I’m keen to book an early scan but won’t do that yet as was so upsetting having to cancel last time. Plus no idea where I am weeks wise

OP posts:
Riverstardust · 22/04/2024 13:30

@ToeBeans24 ahh fair enough. The pregnancy test ones? 🤔

Weeks wise it'll be the date of the start of your last period.

ToeBeans24 · 22/04/2024 13:40

Yep pregnancy ones @Riverstardust. That makes me 4w 5d today but I think I’ll measure 1 weeks less as I’m sure I ovulated a week less based on EWCM. Sorry, I’m just so anxious as on paper I am now at the stage of my chemical last time, but in reality I don’t think I’m more than 3w5d ish. Its all confusing

TheShellBeach · 22/04/2024 13:46

OP I think you ovulated late, and you're coming up to 4 weeks pregnant now.
I've got everything crossed for you.

@ToeBeans24 they'll be able to date you when you get a scan anyway. It's just a rough guide.

Try not to worry about it, I know that's easier said than done. Find a way to distract yourself, get lots of things booked in!

SanityChecks · 22/04/2024 19:10

@ToeBeans24 finger crossed for you! I think we've had a similar experience with our CPs then BFPs if I remember correctly so hopefully you are in for some good luck!

ToeBeans24 · 22/04/2024 19:38

Hey @SanityChecks thank you! How are you doing? X

OP posts:
SanityChecks · 24/04/2024 12:10

@ToeBeans24 im 10 and half weeks pregnant, had a private scan for peace of mind at 9 weeks and its growing as expected. I think it was what I needed to stop obsessing so much. Just waiting for my nhs scan now and then can finally start telling people

ToeBeans24 · 24/04/2024 16:35

Mega congrats @SanityChecks im thinking of waiting until 9 weeks for a private one too. Particularly if I’m not as far as I think. At least if I’m a week behind they’ll be able to see something but if I got at 6 weeks for example and I’m only 5 it’s added stress.

Any tips on how to stay calm? I POAS again today 🤭🤦🏼‍♀️ it is darker at least

I have zero advice on staying calm I'm afraid 😂 I tested every day for weeks to make sure the lines weren't getting lighter, then I had some bleeding at week 6 and had a complete meltdown and ended up in out of hours so I was not calm at all! Hopefully they book your first midwife appointment in relatively early, mine wasnt until nearly 10 weeks but that made me feel better once I could talk through some of my concerns. And the 9 week scan was a good time, the baby was about 3 cm so you could tell it was a baby and not just a blob on the screen

ToeBeans24 · 25/04/2024 07:48

Just beautiful @SanityChecks thrilled for you!
im having a wobble today and not sure why.

Pregnancy after loss is so hard. I knew it would be tough but im a ball of anxiety 😥. Not testing until tomorrow as I promised myself I’ll only do every 48hrs.

But my HR on my Fitbit is down. I know that can be caused by various things but has made me anxious.

And I’ve woken up and feel like my boobs aren’t as sore.

Anyone have fluctuating symptoms early on? @SanityChecks @Riverstardust @Nbaby

OP posts:
Riverstardust · 25/04/2024 08:03

@ToeBeans24 yes, I fluctuated a lot. Symptoms didn't kick in until week 5/6. Week 4, some days I felt absolutely fine and had to test to make sure. My resting heart rate even now isn't crazy high, goes day to day. So I wouldn't focus on that. Boob pain comes and goes daily, some days they are agony but others nothing.
I just think symptoms fluctuate daily and you shouldn't focus on them. Even now at 9 weeks, I get days where I feel normal.
Won't be having a scan until the nhs 12 weeks but have somehow convinced myself that there's nothing there. So I sympathise with the anxiety around it, it's really not fun.

ToeBeans24 · 25/04/2024 08:53

Thanks so much @Riverstardust trying to stay focused and every day I just say “today I am pregnant and for that I am v grateful”. I can’t control what may happen sadly. I’ve just downloaded a book on kindle someone recommended called pregnancy after loss which I hope will help me !

Good to hear that symptoms fluctuate. No pregnancy is the same so pointless me comparing my last 2 pregnancies to this I guess.

Trying my best to remain positive xx

Just to give you hope, try as much as you can this month!
I had a chemical in April 2021, then, I conceived 2 weeks later in the May!
My boy is 15 months old now!

Riverstardust · 25/04/2024 09:00

@ToeBeans24 you're welcome. Just want to ease your anxiety in any way I can. I know I felt comfort from others. I know every pregnancy is different so things aren't going to be the same, but it's definitely reassuring to hear from people in the same boat! 😊

Just like @Behonest32 says, lots of people go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies after a chemical. Just because it happened last time, doesn't mean it will this time too!!
